How to Use the Maps
The current version of the guide represents the game as of the update on July 5, 2017. The guide might be or might NOT be accurate for older or newer versions of the game.

WARNING: this guide may contain spoilers!

Since these maps are based on those found in the developer's official guide, they are NOT 100% accurate. Although I edited several parts of the maps to make them somewhat better, they still give you only a rough idea on where to look for the items in the rooms.

WARNING: the current version of the game contains several game breaking glitches that can block you from getting certain collectibles! Note that these glitches affect your save file as well! Please read the 'Glitches to Avoid' section before playing to learn how to avoid them!

Glitches to Avoid
Cave Puzzle Glitch
Sometimes dying in the Cave causes the Puzzle Piece not to spawn anymore, even if you never picked it up before.
Trigger: Dying in the Cave - the exact conditions are not known.
How to avoid: Back up your save file ("savex.ini" in the game's folder) BEFORE entering the Cave for the first time. Once you enter the Cave make sure you don't save OR die before picking up the Puzzle Piece. After getting it, make sure you don't die before saving! If you messed up and the glitch activated, use the backup save file.

Castle Chest Glitch
Sometimes several chests inside the Castle become permanently opened after getting the final skill, making it impossible to open them yourself.
Trigger: If you visit any room in the Castle that contains Chests BEFORE defeating the boss in the Living Room AND you save the game, all Chests in the visited rooms become permanently opened.
How to avoid: Back up your save file ("savex.ini" in the game's folder) BEFORE entering the Castle for the first time. Once you enter the Castle you should go directly to AND beat the boss in the Ritual Room WITHOUT saving OR dying anywhere. Do NOT even go near the Chests before getting the skill first. Once you defeated the boss and picked up the Skill, you should be able to save without activating the glitch. If you messed up and/or the glitch activated, use the backup save file.

I appreciate the response + the guide :defuncthappy:
I'll try to align to your advices throughout my progress.
I sent an email to Jonathan this morning, hope he can clarify what he intends to do with the original version of the game, given that he spends most of his time on the remaster indeed.

As long as you don't save or die anywhere in the castle you should be fine. Even if the glitch gets triggered somehow, you can use the backup save and you will only lose like 10-15 minutes of progress.

I might be wrong but I think Jonathan Brassaud is a pixel artist and thus has no experience in debugging. Furthermore, he's been working on an updated version for over a year but since he is developing the game by himself it's going pretty slowly. His Facebook page should have more info on this though.

Haven't started the game yet.
Looking at the map, it seems you cannot avoid "going near the Chests before getting the skill first", as there seems to be chests on your way to the mini boss.
I plan to 100% the game and I red you struggled to get 100% chests opened. I would not want such stupid bug to prevent that.

Speaking of bugs and having a clear view of what they consist of, how come the Jonathan has not fixed them yet ? :ChipStern:
