I find this method to be the easiest and you can save it as a handy tool for future use. It's helpful for those that want to keep track of users who constantly change their name, but aren't friends with them and can't do it the traditional way. First things first, you're going to need to be logged into the browser version of Steam and need this java script code:


Next, make a bookmark using this code as shown below. Name the bookmark whatever you'd like:


Now it's time to add a nickname! For this example, I went to a random profile that I'm not friends with, as evidence by the "Add Friend" on their profile page. Here I simply clicked my saved bookmark, typed in my preferred nickname and hit "Add Nickname". It's that easy!


If you want to change the nickname, simply re-do the following to override the previous nickname. If you want to erase it and no longer have a nickname for the person, simply click your bookmark and hit "Add Nickname" without filling it out to remove it.
