You are absolutely right, thanks for pointing that out. After first interaction with the flames game sets a flag, so sleeping in a bed will give you an item, but looks like entering Chako's house removes that flag. Section fixed
Chako's Rouge is hidden special item, which can be only obtainable if you will examine fireplace and then immediately go to sleep in her bed without talking to her. You should hear 'pop' sound and after rest, Chako should sleep in bed.[/quote]
This isn't quite accurate. You don't have to avoiding talking to her after touching the flames. You simply must sleep/rest in the bed while she is next to it, which only occurs when you interact with the flames for the first time on that playthrough. If you leave the building or reload the save, she will never move beside the bed again, so that's your actual point of no return.
It's impossible to get Super Missile Launcher with 100 missiles in a legit way.
Look at my older comment to check what Blood Stained Sanctuary chest gives.
You can try to edit save file to get as much ammo as you want, but now I have another idea: what will happen if you will get BSS chest to get standard Missile Launcher with 100 missiles, then edit save file to get back into Boulder Chamber to get Super upgrade? I believe that's the way to have SML with 100 ammo.
The wikia stated that the chest in Blood Stained Sanctuary contains "a normal Missile Launcher that starts with one hundred missiles".
Is it possible to get Super Missile Launcher with one hundred missiles within the same save?
Indeed, chest with Rocket Launcher upgrade is after last battle with Balrog, but last ammo chest is almost before Ballos battle, that's why I misunderstood you.
But looking on the script in the original game, the chest in Boulder Chamber only swaps your current Rocket Launcher with Super Rocket Launcher leaving same amount of ammo.
So, unless they changed something between time when I wrote this guide and the present day, the maximum amount of rockets should be:
54 for SRL
100 (62/54 without skipping) for RL
Where immediately after the fight, you get a chest that has the Super Missile Upgrade in it. (If you got the launcher before that point)
You probably thought about Ballos, not Balrog (last Balrog fight is a "Balfrog" in Grasstown (Bushlands)
I believe this secret still exists in Cave Story+ and if it's the same like in a original version, then this chest in Sacred Grounds should give you:
- 24 missiles if you have Super Rocket Launcher
- 32 missiles if you have Rocket Launcher
However, if you haven't any Rocket Launcher in inventory, this chest should give you the normal one (not upgraded) Rocket Launcher + 100 missiles.
I remember at one point (This was back in the original) if you didn't pick up any Launcher Chests until, I think, the final Balrog fight, you got a super upgraded Missile Launcher with 255 ammo max.
Looking it up on Google, it's actually the last Missile Chest in the game, the one in Hell that gives +24 Missile Ammo. You have to not pick up any other Missile chests until then, because the upgrade chests will have the launcher if you don't have it yet, and the Balrog upgrade won't open if you don't have a Launcher.
