I don't really wanna trash talk this game, as there are some things it does well, and I know it is an ambitious game made by a small team, but it has so many flaws its hard not to be critical.

Immediately, I was greeted by music overlapping from 2 sources in the opening of the game, dropped into the starting area which is completely POINTLESS as it doesn't serve any real purpose, is hard to navigate, and does terrible as tutorial area ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO THE SECOND AREA which is where the game honestly should have just started.

Combat kinda works, but it has too many needless things going in terms of builds, and also just how spells work and the combination tactical/jrpg combat merge that should pick a lane, but doesn't.

The story I cant speak on as I only played for around 2 hours, but really struggled to get much of anything other than "theres a war, but we abandoned it to get something to cure our mother".

The visuals can be nice, and the voice acting is actually quite good, so there are a few positives, but I can't really reccomend this game unless you are very bored, don't mind some silly bugs and get a STEEP discount.

For such a small development team, Edge of Eternity was a pretty decent lil game. I can definitely see the ambition and work put into it, though some of the story suffers a bit and I think it might have benefited from a bit more polish in that department. The last few story beats fell flat for me, and I think there was a bug/glitch that pushed me past a couple of story beats in the last area (suddenly going up an elevator and then being past a boss fight I didn't do)

Combat was fun, and I really enjoyed the weapon crafting system. The side quests felt fleshed out and added charm to the story.

Do recommend buying on sale and giving it a go, but don't expect anything ground-breaking. The nekaroos were adorable. 10/10 would ride again.
