I've made very few reviews on steam, but this one deserves my criticism: Incredibly amateur "game", it's not even a game, it's a joke. If you manage to look past all the bugs and lack of settings, then what you'll find here it's one of those "indie" free games that is 10 minutes long with 3 lines of dialogue, repeated empty rooms over and over just to you can experience the developer's personal traumas. The characters are named "Carl & Abel", really? Lacking courage to properly make the reference? I'm very used to indie games and personal projects, both in games and in movies, so don't assume I was expecting much, take a look at another free game called NaissanceE, for example, that's a perfectly good indie game, and it's not using fancy UE4 graphics (that you can't configure in the menu, as I mentioned earlier) like this game does, and it's still at least AN ACTUAL GAME. This here, this is nothing, a complete waste of time, pure garbage.

Don't get disencouraged by mindless kids' negative reviews, specially when their only pro is that "at least it's free", this mod is absolutely great, I've only encountered 1 MAJOR BUG where I had to noclip, during the Gravity Gun area coz the second red portal wouldn't open, so there was 2 red portals in the same room. Other than that, maybe a couple other minor issues that are not game breaking nor annoying whatsoever.
The dialogues volume is a bit low though, but the game has an actual story, and it even touches the "canon" universe, which is fantastic! It has a very easy secret ending where the game ends a lot sooner, and this is what I accidentaly did but then I went for the other.

Besides your good old Portal Gun, some remarkable elements of this mod are:
- Paint Gun. The model is a bit weird but it works and it's great, at least it has a custom model.
- Gravity Gun. Now this thing sucks (ahem) I mean it though, the aim is offcentered and pulling objects doesn't work as well as the one available in BEE mod for example. But it has a custom model.
- Fizzer Gun. This thing is amazing, I wish they had used it more.
- Time Gun. Yes, you can speed up or slow down time, only used once, sadly, but there's also a room where you can do this with pedestal buttons.

Other things that stand out:
- An insane amount of different envoironments, including a flaming Aperture escape sequence and an awesome (although very short) area outdoors with incredible Rain, wind and thunder effects.
- Ingenious puzzles, like a rotating room or non-Euclidean spaces and time travel world-portals leading to all 3 Aperture times, Old, Present and Overgown, with a little extra WIP dimension with unfinished textures which is pretty funny, then it also has moon gravity areas and clever out-of-the-box solutions. There aren't as many secrets as I would've liked, but I did find a hidden Radio in the area with the super deadly blue laser :)
- Lots of exclusive puzzle elements, like a cube that explodes to activate buttons; a goo-resistant HL turret that was hillarious, I wish there was more of it, like a LOT more, it's so fun, and you need the turret to open doors; a bouncy env_spark thingy that I absolutely hated because you just supernaturally bounce on these; a strong steam source that lets you float, like in God of War lol

But I could go on about it all day, just play it for yourself, don't judge for no reason just because it's a fanmade mod everytime a weird thing happens, because let's face it, there mods are better than never getting a Portal 3 coz they can't count that high up.

P.S. I've played this after finishing the new Portal Revolution and after replaying Reloaded (which I hated back in 2021) but liked it a little better now, but Forbidden Testing Tracks is better than Reloaded, I say that with complete confidence. And better than Rexaura as well. The guy worked 4 years on this so cut him some slack, I watched videos with people complaining in the first 10 seconds only coz they've read the reviews, how mindless can someone get, right? You may hate it, but hate it for the right reasons, because of bugs or uninteresting themes, not because childish players told you to. And don't forget that bugs happen in the main games as well, or you think those Portal speedrunning techniques are intended behavior?
Also, I know this is a childish argument, but maybe it's the only language you can understand - if you think this is bad for reasons beyond my comprehension, simply go and do better! The guy is not a valve developer, he is someone just like you and me, but with better game design capabilities.

I'm glad I finally heard about this, a great way to start 2024 using my brain while enjoying pleasant game design!

Early Access Review
Certainly one of the most fun games of all times, Hell of an Office is a great fast-pace speedrunning game where you run through the hells of an office cubicle job, dashing and rocket-jumping towards your freedom, taking control of a stapler-looking fella working your way through the fire and the flames to face your boss, s(A)tan himself.
I see this game as a mix of The Stanley Parable and Seum: Speedrunners from Hell, and what a combination!
So, do yourself a favor, grab a flame soda and go dash out of Dante's Inferno to get a spot on those hot leaderboards!

P.S. I don't have a powerful enough computer to run it, unfortunately, I tried, I bought the Early Access because the devs are awesome and this is definitely one of the best games of 2023 so far, despite the fact that I cannot play it.

Everything bad that started with RE4, it's still here: Terrible camera angle/FOV; aiming sucks - you can't turn the camera fast unless you let go of WASD; you have a boring partner - again; there are no zombies; the foreign-language enemies still speak; Chris punches boulders...

While I think the gameplay is better than RE4 at some degree, the dialogues are more memorable but the level design is forgettable. Vehicle levels are boring and ridiculous. This is a fast-paced action game, not a Reisdent Evil game, and you have RE4 to thank for starting that. I hope you enjoy RE6!

Remember when Reisdent Evil had an entire CD worth of awesome soundtracks? I wonder if Capcom couldn't hire a musician, coz any RE games past the 3rd, lack of anything that resembles a proper OST.

But same argument for RE4 applies here, as a standalone game that should have a different title, RE5 is also a good game, it's fun and even creative at times. But if you call it RESIDENT EVIL, then it's a bad game.

I'll be brief because everyone knows RE4 by now:

- A RIDICULOUS Resident Evil game, the first bad one towards the downfall of the franchise.
- A VERY GOOD game if you call it something else. Entertaining, fun, remarkable and a classic.

Now, about the UHD, since we are forced to buy this one, it is SUPER problematic, so unless you spend two days modding and tweaking it, just go play the original RE4 on a console or on your PC if you still own it somehow. Haven't experienced a single crash so far, that's good, but it's unplayable without the fan tweaks.
The game runs in slow motion because if you can't run stable at either 30 or 60 fps, which are capped, everytime it fluctuates, the game slows down. After the tweaks, I'm only experiencing slow downs in areas with too much volumetric fog, which is normal for a medium-end laptop.

TL;DR - Only buy it if you understand about modding, tweaking settings yourself via game files, and if you have the time/patience for doing that even if you do know how to.

No words can describe this gaming experience, SOMA it's simply the best game ever made, the best atmosphere, sound effects and story in a videogame. When I first played this masterpiece, it has instantly become my favorite game of all times, pushing the epic Silent Hill 2 to third place, THIIIIIRD place! And I say that as a reference to Borderlands 2 which is now in second place.
Two things that really stood out in SOMA was: 1 - basically not having a HUD or any screen messages, the only icons are the crosshairs, which sadly can't be disabled, but there's a simplified icons option.
And 2 - the game doesn't hold your hand in any moment, so without HUD objective markers and only the two main protagonist's voices (from awesome voice actors), creates such an immersive and atmospheric state of being part of the world and story presented to you. The sound FX, like I mentioned, along with the ambiance music, are so pleasant to hear, but also super scary! And talking about that, the monsters freak me out, I'm almost 30 years old and I played Silent Hill 1 when I was 6, so don't judge me, the game is actually terrifying! Also I can't help but comment that I noticed most people that played SOMA only did so because they were fans of Amnesia, but that is not my case, and yet, I love SOMA just as much! Unforgetable experience, a mix of fear, anxiety and even tears - heavy emotions awaits you at the bottom of the ocean!

A bit inferior to their previous work, 'n Verlore Verstand, but less glitchy.
This game is good overall, the puzzles are ingenius and positively bizarre.
The only problem is sometimes you'll find yourself struggling not with the levels difficulty, but with the Engine itself, and controlling your movement in mid-air is pretty hard, so having a crosshair wouldn't hurt though. But it's an interesting experience and the music is really nice.

Seum has instantly become an all-time favorite to me.
I'm not a speedrunner, but I do enjoy watching speedruns of the games that I love, and having the word on the title is remarkable, considering the game is almost entire focused on that.
The title letters referencing Doom is just perfect! The game has it all:
An unbelievable amount of levels; secret levels; secret secret levels; a collectible for each one and these are very interesting to search for; many powerups and completely separate leaderboards for playing all levels with any of those powerups from the start; and what I consider essencial, a Level Editor!
If you're wondering how I spent so many hours in Seum, that was mostly because I love making maps on it, you can build something and test it instantly, there is not a single second of loading time, not even on the main game, if you die or press the reset button, the level starts over right away!
The humor in the voice lines are hillarious and incredibly well-delivered, the unlockables are even better!
The music just fits the game to the bone! Everything is impecable. The graphics, considering the game's theme, are awesome as well, sure, upon a closer look they might look simplistic, but that's why you don't have loading screens and I wouldn't trade this for any graphical improvements. The story is barely existant, but for this genre, I'm surprised there's even one, which has a follow-up on the amazing DLC that expands the grandness of the game even further, by adding tons of new levels and powerups that can even be used on the Level Editor, and these new items are brilliantly creative. The developers are still active after so many years and the fanbase community is very welcoming, I'm grateful for meeting them!
So if I were you, I'd join Marty right now and go have fun, coz isn't that the point of videogames after all? Well, here you got it covered!

Redux version is RIDICULOUS! Which is a shame, because I love the original version. The worst graphics and poor optimizations make me sick. There are shadow issues that seem to be caused by the monitor Refresh Rate (which resets to default if you change any setting in-game even if the .cfg file is set to read-only) for HDMI users, as per PCGamingWiki, I tried using their solution by changing some values, but I couldn't fix it, also, whenever it rains on the camera, the whole screen gets all sorts of distortions (mirror-like effects) on every water drop that falls on the screen, bugs the whole image, it is apparently caused by Resolution Scale, if it's not on '100' then the game is unplayable, but the worst problem is the shadow bug that CANNOT be fixed. 1/100. Only good thing is the KATANA and the sound effect it makes, which is really nice.
2025 EDIT: Latest patch fixed a few things, HDMI problems are gone now that we can actually play using Borderless, but the Resolution Scale is still bugged even at 96, the rain effect becomes noticeably distorted on the screen. I'm changing my negative review because of the patch, even though it is still not perfect and the Original version is still way better, playing them back to back recently, I noticed Redux has WAY LONGER loading times. And fix the damn fall damage, what's the point of Dodge when you die just by dodging down a tiny slope or staircase!

Portal 2 is that game you can play for the rest of your life and never get bored, due to the community made maps using the in-game Perpetual Testing Initiative. While Portal 1's first playthrough experience was a true masterpiece, Portal 2 in all its flaws, it's still better as a full game, it's better looking and much longer. I may hate the Personality core Wheatley, I still love Portal 2's story and how they used every possible aspect of Aperture Science's Test Chambers. 10/10!
