Here's the deal. Yes, this game has woke elements.

Yes, this game endorses trans ideology.

However, if you can stomach that, the game is actually really good. The presentation is phenomenal, it runs very smoothly even maxed out, and playing as a mage is dope AF so far.

I am not saying this is better than earlier DA games, and I am def not saying it is as good as the Mass Effect trilogy, but so far it is very fun.

Changing this to positive. They FINALLY reversed the terrible nerfs and buffed a lot of weapons. Game is fun again.

They should have called this Early Access Beta period. The game is clearly not ready.

The core gameplay is actually very fun, but there are so many little issues that add up to really hurting the overall experience.

No DLSS, No Framerate Cap, menu options that don't work, don't save, or cause crashing.

Progression does not feel rewarding at all.

Worst of all, it has an invasive rootkit kernal anti-cheat solution. Unacceptable

I am done. I am requesting a full refund and if denied I will take it through PayPal.

This game is a scam. The devs refuse to expand their server capacity. they sit in Discord gaslighting their customers that "servers are stabilziing" when it is always the same thing: the queue is 15k plus and only around 5k are actually in game. As people get in game, other people get booted from the game and have to wait again.

Multiple times throughout this week they have disabled login entirely, closing the door to all of us. It has been days and they have never communicated a plan for progress not actually shown progress. They have no idea how to fix their servers.

They charged for access, they denied access.

I am getting my money back. Stay away.

They promised cross-progression, it is broken too. The site to link your accounts crashed within minutes and was never fixed.

On Discord, instead of fixing their servers, they sat there and kept saying "the servers should slowly stabilize on their own," which never happened.

They tried adding a login queue and it broke within minutes.

These devs are WOEFULLY incompetent.

Requiring upscaling is still bad, but the game is amazing

I don't normally like Souls-like games, but this game is amazing. The environmental storytelling is great, the puzzles and secret are great

If Dishonored and Prey didn't really do anything for you, neither will this. It's more or less the same Arkane formula, just remixed in a somewhat clever fashion.

The presentation is fine, performance hiccups aside. The gameplay loop is somewhat engaging but just like Dishonored 2, I just don't feel compelled to finish it.

I feel like Arkane games are either for you or they aren't. Hit or miss, not much room in the middle.

I will keep this short and sweet.

Played for 67 hours so far, It is super flawed and clearly needed at least another 4-6 months in the oven before being released, but I can understand they needed to generate some revenue.

If they follow through and add the dozen layers of polish the current build needs, this game will be one of the best ARPGs out there.

Many gamebreaking bugs have already been addressed, you should now at least be able to play through the whole game, and endgame, without having your progress erased or halted due to glitch or error. Along the way you will run across some janky interactions and minor bugs all over the place.

All that being said, bottom line is I have 67 houts in on one character and will probably play another 30 more with that character before being fished with her, then rolling a new one. Combat is fun. They really nail the impact of abilities, you feel powerful. Build diversity is top notch. For an ARPG the graphics are elite. Performance is mostly OK. When playing with other people online the netcode is a bit laggy and FPS dips occur in big fights.

Overall, I would give it a 7 out of 10 and could be a 9 out of 10 if they actually finish making it

I wanted to love and support this game. I offered some very critical but very honest feedback after purchasing and playing a couple missions solo. A couple fanboys took offense to my honesty and trolled me. When I responded, Dwarfurious banned me without warning. Am requesting refund, will never support this team again. This game could have been wonderful. It could have been as big or bigger than Left For Dead 1 and 2. Oh well.

In order for the community to thrive we will need to accept each other’s constructive criticism. The game has a solid base but has a long way to go. We can’t insta-ban people for voicing concerns.

The brief synopsis of my concerns with the game are as follows. I posted much more in detail on the forum before I was unjustifiably banned by a power hungry mod. It’s a shame that the community is already eating itself.

My criticism of the game is as such: it has a solid gameplay loop as the base experience but desperately needs fleshed out progression system for longevity sake and also desperately needs mission variety. The “dangling carrot” effect is there but very mildly at the moment.

Also, I find lack of cross play between steam and win/Xbox base disappointing. Gigantic died because of that splinter base. Rocket League pulls this off so why can’t others?

For 25 dollars right now a decent value because I can see myself spending 30 hours with a game like this, but with the improvements I recommended this game could have a Diablo 3 style replayability.

People will say “PUBG and Overwatch” didn’t need those things, but those games have millions of players, this game has 2000 on Steam right now. Hard to compare the two
