2 years into the game and its almost ready for release
no new classes - we were told we'd get one ~every quarter
still has audio queue issues - if you're fighting, another horde may spawn with no audio queue until they're already on top of you

ah but don't worry, there's new cosmetics for you to buy with real currency every month.

I loved Vermintide 2 & wish fatshark's games were the best they could be.
Don't waste time/money on this. Its not ready.

EDIT:
For similar gameplay,I recommend GTFO
For similar universe (40k), I recommend Space Marine 2

Combat is a blast
Boss fights are my favorite in any fromsoft game
Thoroughly enjoyed multiple playthroughs to find all the fights and get invested in different story lines :)

===== EDIT ON 12/25/2024 =====
Devs fixed the issues I had with the game.
Its incredibly fun again.
Go spread some democracy.

===== PREVIOUS NEGATIVE REVIEW =====
Most people will complain about balancing.
I don't care about that.
There are far too many bugs that have gone unfixed since release.

A few examples:
  • Enemy corpses disappearing and leaving invisible walls behind.
Players cannot shoot or move through these invisible walls. Don't worry though, enemies can and will.

  • Enemies hiding in and shooting through walls. Also possible with major rock features.
Especially fun when factory striders do this.

  • Dropships not killing enemies when you kill the dropship before it releases the carried enemies.
Sometimes kills light infantry. Rarely kills medium infantry. Never kills hulks & tanks.
    Always leaves behind invisible walls.

  • Your camera getting sent below the map, unrecoverable until you die.
Extra fun in super helldive missions...

  • Your camera being stuck in first person with no aiming reticle.
Fixable, but you'll probably die first as it only happens when you get hit by knockback, so it only happens in combat.
All of these were present at launch.
Game released 6 months ago.
I no longer believe they care about fixing the existing bugs.

If you want to play on low/medium difficulty, go for it.
If you want to play on high difficulty, don't bother.

The game is a blast to play.
If you liked the first game, you'll love this.
There's some performance issues in cities due to the CPU load incurred for each NPC. Nothing a little late-game Stellaris genocide can't fix. Or just wait for a patch. Personally I'm doing the latter.

Combat is fluid as always, voice acting is a charm, and the visuals are stunning.
Just be careful what visual configurations you have set. Even on medium settings it looks great, so beware the bells and whistles you don't actually need.

Don't buy the paid dlc, all the items are easily earnable ingame. The dlc is effectively "pay for convinience" so long as you don't know how to play the game.

Love the touch to high five your Pawn after a rough fight :)

Good luck, Arisen.

A $6 April Fools game has no right to be this fun. I've only done soloQ so far, and haven't met a single toxic person.

If you have friends to play it with, it will only be more fun and goofy.

A little homie-erotic tension never hurt anyone.

I loved Acid Nerve's first game, Titan Souls, but Death's Door is on a completely different level. The soothing music, breathtaking visual art direction, and interesting level design all brought me to actually enjoy exploration - a rarity for me.

I typically enjoy combat the most, and I'm happy to say that Death's Door allows a surprising amount of self-expression while gutting your enemies - be it with sword or umbrella (or 3 other fun weapons)

Although the world has the same bleak taste of grays that you might get from a Soulsborne, the comedy and vibrant personality of NPCs helps the player enjoy the color of life and the world around you.

Vague spoiler ahead, so don't open them if you tend to overthink things and ruin surprises for yourself, otherwise take a peek :)

This game is probably my favorite sequel to date. I loved Acid Nerve's Titan Souls and from the first boss fight I knew I was going to love this game. Later in the game, I was hit with an excited wave of realization when I first heard the classic Titan Souls ~sound~ and damn I was not disappointed.

Thank you Acid Nerve, I can't wait to see what you do next :)

Gameplay Summary
I found TowerMancer randomly when its demo came out, and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it released not long after. TowerMancer is, quite literally, a Tower Defense. Just...not in the way you're thinking. You are tasked with building a tower, sourcing the materials for each room via your mindless imps, and defending said tower from destruction. The overall goal in each mission is to meet the unique objectives (usually amount of certain rooms, enemies defeated, etc).

Personal Review
As of writing, all the negative reviews who's language I can read say that the game is either not fun or lame because you can't fight back against enemies. I can't say much about the reviewer who didn't enjoy it, since fun is subjective, but I can say that there are PLENTY of ways to fight back against enemies. Hell, the chaos of later levels in managing what defenses you have for what attacks might come your way paired with the need for momentum in building was surprisingly fun for me.
The first few levels serve as an intro, but they felt weak in comparison to the demo, and as such I feel that more people would find and enjoy the game if the devs put in the demo again because they would know what their getting into. For me, this is a goal-oriented game, both in skill and room unlocks, so being able to see at least a glimpse of what you can do at higher levels can be important at driving player engagement. Or at least, it is for me.

Regardless, if there's a demo: try it. If you can spare the $8: get it seriously its well worth $8. If there's a sale: why the hell are you reading this go play the game 4head.

Can't wait for "what comes next" ;)

This game is criminally underrated and overlooked.

Smooth singleplayer combat that you can take at any speed you choose to.
Incredible story for a FPS game.
EXTREMELY fast paced multiplayer pvp that gets insanely fun with a crew of friends.
...oh and there's a horde mode too.

Overall: Get it. You won't regret it. Play the campaign, DO IT.

Protocol 3...

Its almost criminal that, at the time of reviewing, the game as only a 77% positive rating.
While the game has its fair share of bugs in every update, the devs seem fiarly transparent in their pursuit to squash them and add new content to the game.
Many didn't like their Winds of Magic DLC as it could feel like it was just reskined maps with a mission modifier...ok lets be honest it was...
But I don't think many can be dissapointed with the absolute BANGER of an update The Curse of Drachenfels FreeLC is.

If you're looking for a grim and mostly melee-oriented to play with The Lads (better named the A-Men)
then this might be the right game for you

An EDM-adrenaline fueled joyride through a series of boss fights that each challenge you to use different strategies than the previous, and all loosely linked through serene scenes of narrative exposition.

Sorry Dark Souls fans, no R1 spam in this game ;)
