While this game is still in early access, what I've seen so far is an effective improvement upon the original dungeon defenders formula. The combat is improved, the map design, the graphics. All of it. On top of this, it is a free game, as opposed to the original's pay to play business model.

A masterpiece. Sequel? Spinoff? I need more.

This game's community growth was screwed over by large numbers of ignorant reviews calling it "Pay-to-Win". This is not the case. All in game items that affect gameplay can be obtained without paying. Give this game a try, you might be pleasantly surprised as I. Goodbye!

One of my favorite rogue-likes out there

Super fun, fluid gameplay, nice artstyle. Simple but deep. Car traction is somewhat low, but decent grip. You slide around and are forced to slow down at times, meaning you can't just gas down every track. You have to think and execute. Epic

Fix the bugs, make the UI better, and it would be a dandy great game. Fun, but could be better. Wait to buy.

I don't see what there is to be so salty about. Not spent a dime on the game and I'm liking it so far.

The balance is a little bit off at times, especially with the arrival of a new character, however it is normally rectified with a patch soon after. Sometimes there are bugs, people voting veto to start a match on 1v3 teams, and sometimes lag issues because this game does not have its own servers. Other than that, I can't complain much. The combat is almost always fast paced, and it helps combine some skill into a tactic/strategy based genre. The shop being almost entirely made up of items exclusive to each character adds lots of potential, and the community is normally quite nice. The game has been constantly updated for months now, free of charge, but has now released an expansion pack, set to be updated over the course of the the next year or so, and that means that the updates to the base game will slow down, be put on hold for a while, or even end altogether. There are a large number of community created tournaments every year, and most have a very large roster of known teams throughout the community. Starting with three nauts, players will level up and unlock new characters and the option to add new items to their loadout, which makes the intimidation of not knowing which character to pick pretty much disappear.
