The greatest game I have ever played in my entire life. This has been, and always will be my all-time favorite. Rune is what started my trip into the gaming world, and will foreever be a part of my life. As I continue to loath for a remastered or sequel version of Rune, all I can do is wait patiently for the day it happens. As Rune continues to have a special place in my past, I can always look back at the sheer fun I had playing the this marvel of a game. Thank you HumanHead for inspiring my love and interest of the Norse lore, and thank you for giving me a game I can truly give a 10/10.

I'll leave the details of the game for you to explore. Every moment you participate in Rune will be a moment well spent. Nothing really much more to say, but since this is my favorite game I've ever played, my review is obviously biased, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

I'm going to be straight up honest with you, and say this game is pretty fun. I'm a Naruto fan, and a long time fighting game lover, so of course I'm going to love STORM 4, but instead of making this review telling you how much I love it, I'll attempt to be as unbias as possible and label the good and bad.

First of all, you should know playing this will spoil the Naruto Anime/Manga if you haven't watched/read either one, as it very well tells you the story from the point Naruto breaks Tobi's mask, to the very end of the series. Does that mean you should play the other STORM's? Or go finish the Anime and Manga? Well, it's all a matter of preference, because really, the game did spoil a LOT, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it! I think I enjoyed it more than actually watching the Anime.

Next, you should know STORM 4 now focuses more on slideshows. If you played or watched the previous STORM games, you'd know that it was all cinematic 3D cut scenes, while STORM 4 relies more on slideshows from the Anime. It was obviously a lazy move, and I very much prefer the animated cutscenes MUCH more. Not to say it doesn't have those cool 3D animated scenes, just not nearly as much as anybody would like.

If you also haven't heard already, this is their last Naruto game, (Or just their last STORM game, not exactly sure) meaning there won't be anymore. Feel like picking up a Naruto game? This is the best choice hands down.

However, the game has a lot of negative aspects to it, which some do tend to annoy me.

The support characters from the previous STORM games are not included in here, which to me, is yet another lazy move. Online connections haven't changed much, they removed still haven't added back wall combat, and the game in gameplay wise isn't much different from past STORM games.

The game graphically, however, has a lot of nice animations and particles that make it look like a 3D anime, which I quite like.

These are just a select few I screenshotted for fun, but I promise you there are many more good ones out there.

OK, here's a list of a whole bunch of features STORM 4 has, that its predecessors doesn't.

  • 60 FPS
  • Leader switching; allows you in the middle of a fight, or even a combo to almost instantly switch your leader, allowing you to make a ton of cool new combos.
  • Armor destruction, which is one of my personal favorite features, as once your character is damaged at a certain extent, it will have a physical appearance on your clothes.
  • Attribute damage, this means water jutsu's are more effective while you're on water, and fire attacks will keep burning you until you extinguish yourself.
  • An amazingly bigger character roster.
  • Flashy new sound effects.
  • No longer the ability to flick into awakened mode, meaning that OP flick awakeners like TenTen are no longer a problem.
  • Completely incredible new particle effects.
  • Amazing modding community.
  • Beautiful team ultimate jutsu's, which are basically a special ultimate attack that depending on the team you have, unleashes a beautiful attack, just like this!

However, there's still some things that annoy me, no matter how much I love this game.

    Such as:

  • Wall running being only available in story mode, while it was an actual feature in STORM 1.
  • Not being able to play in awakened mode from the start of a battle, which again, was doable in STORM 1.
  • More Anime cut scenes than actual cinematic's.
  • No rage quitting penalty.
  • A somewhat toxic community.

Some things that might annoy you (but haven't for me)

  • No support characters from STORM 3 and Revolution (Rip Anko)
  • Overpowered Uchiha's

    For my final verdict:

The game is a fantastic way to end the series, with a bunch of new features and characters, with a story that in my eyes, makes for a great STORM game. I simply love the Naruto series and universe, and love the game even more so.

    I give the game a 7/10.

A simple, yet fantastic game! All you really do is hop in a server, select your team, weapons, and start shooting everyone you see with a variety of weapons. Somehow, a game so simple can be so fun. If you ask me, this is how games were meant to be.

It's free.
It's simple.
There's no micro transactions.
And there's an actual decent community.

I don't know why anyone would pass this up, it's free and amazing, two combinations that never seem to go well together. So what are you waiting for!? Download the game already, and START PASSING THAT WHISKEY!

Oh, and there are watermelons.

The nostalgia is real.

The game is awesome, and for it being made 10 years ago, it's crazy how well the game holds up.

Sound track is beautiful and fits the scene, the graphics match the game play style, and the action is all around brilliant.

I give this game an "A", for "Amazing"!

Yeah, okay, GameGuru doesn't have the best graphics around, but they have a specific look to it, so there's that. Making the graphics look as good as UE4 and Unity however, is practically impossible. But that's not my point, my point is GameGuru's graphics are good enough for making games for the hecc of it.

The engine is editable to certain extents, but not really enough for hardcore coders and developers. Again, this is an engine made more for the fun of it. Making some nice $$$ is possible, but not too easy.

GameGuru doesn't rely on the users scripts to change the gameplay, most of that that can be edited. Such as changing the enemies weapons, damage, speed, health, etc.

What else is GameGuru easiest with? Mapping, yes mapping. Simple drag and drop for map editing in GameGuru. You can either free roam, or get an instant top down view while editing to make mapping all the more easier.

Model importation
<----I'm surprised that's even a word)
GameGuru currently has a model importer where you select your .x file (the only model file type GameGuru accepts), texture and of course, the best part, editing the settings of that object, size, if it is a metal, wood, or whatever kind of object, and then saving is all that's needed for easy model importing.

Scripting.
Can GameGuru script, you may ask? Well the short answer is yes! Currently, GameGuru can be scripted in .lua. It's also nice how easy your scripts are to use, but I'm not saying scripting is easier in GameGuru, as it is just as hard as any other engine. However, I was meaning how easy they are to put to use in GameGuru. GameGuru has these features called "Zones" that allows you to easily place zones to allow your scripts to be used in many ways. Drag and drop your zone, and attach your script. And done, that easy.

Terrain Editing.
Terrain editing in GameGuru is actually one of my favorite features. You can very easily and efficiently add various types of grass, as well as forming mountains with the landscape tools.

Distribution.
I know I know, you're prolly asking, "Can I sell my games, and can I give my games without other people needing to own GameGuru?". Well, the answer is yes! You can save your game as standalone to allow you to share your games (yes, even selling on Steam, which the devs have stated you're allowed to do freely). However, the power to save your game as multiplayer, that is still a work in progress, and people NEED to own GameGuru to play Multiplayer. That's why I won't be talking about that at all.

Final Verdict.
What is my final verdict for GameGuru? To put it simple, the game engine rules for a making a game for fun. However, for the most serious developers,I highly suggest using UE4 or Unity, as GameGuru is meant for the developer beginners that want to have fun.

As a user of Blender for more than a year, I can proudly say that Blender has found a way into my heart. It's simplicity of doing everything it takes to make a model, animation, texture, etc., makes Blender one of the world's best Software. It's also free. Say whaaaaaaat.

Keep in mind, Blender is hard to learn at times, but will eventually become a habit when you practice. If you ever think you need a free software for any of your needs, Blender is the software for you!
