This is the game that got me into "stealth" gaming...
That's the key to success in this game, stealth.

Unlike most of the "shoot 'em up" games out there, this one requires you to use your head and find creative ways to complete the missions without being spotted.
Tactics are a plenty in this one, hide in the shadows and attack from behind. Hang from the ceiling and drop onto and attack enemies, it's got it all.., but only if you have what it takes to be a "silent killer".

As a longtime Killing Floor player, I was a little skeptical of a sequel.
As we all know, sequels don't always live up to their original versions, but I must say that there are distinct improvements on the original Killing Floor in this version.

For one, the graphics are a huge improvement over the original. Zed animations and overall appearance is greatly improved and gameplay in general is much better.
The interface changes were the only thing that kind of "threw me". It's not a bad interface, don't get me wrong, but for someone like me, that's played the original for years, this new interface took a little getting used to.
I did like the "Basic Training" feature, it gives you a chance to get a 'feel' for the new interface and game mechanics without fear of getting "whacked" in a real match. It's well worth doing a couple of times and if you complete "Basic Training" there is a reward: You get 1 free level for completing it, plus an achievement and a cosmetic item, if i'm not mistaken...

If you are a Killing Floor fan, I don't think you will find this version a disappointment at all, except for the fact that the Patriarch is missing in the base game. I believe there is a DLC that brings him back, but I feel this is the only "real" screw-up that Tripwire has with this version.

UPDATE: While I still recommend this game, I have to point out that there is currently no way to run a listenserver on a LAN for this game. If you want to play with your friends, you will basically have to create a public match. That's right, unless you want to go through the "headaches" of downloading the dedicated server files and configuring them, you cannot play a private online or LAN game.

UPDATE: With the second F2P weekend coming to an end, my attitude toward this game hasn't changed, and neither has the inability to make and play a LAN game without having to configure a dedicated server.
This, in my opinion, is a deal-breaker.
Part of the reason why most people liked the first Killing Floor was the ability to create your own matches without having to configure a full-blown dedicated server. Tripwire has "screwed the pooch" with regards to this functionality with Killing Floor 2.

While I still think it is an improvement over the first Killing Floor, it still leaves much to be desired in the LAN play department. If it wasn't for this, I'd have bought this game already, without it, I seriously doubt that I will buy it.

Sorry Tripwire, but if you can find it in your "heart" to restore the LAN functionality that Killing Floor has, I can guarantee that at least 6 people that I know, including myself, will be buying this game immediately, but not without the old LAN functionality of Killing Floor...

What to say about this one..?

Without giving away anything, this game is definitely an "edge-of-your-seat" thriller!
It's way better than Aliens: Colonial Marines, it does one thing that ACM didn't.., it forces you to outthink the alien rather than to "outgun" it.
In a nutshell, you are Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter, it's been 15 years since the Nostromo was reported missing, but it's about 42 years before Ellen Ripley is found in the movie Aliens. Anywho, you go to a space station in hopes of finding out what exactly happened to your mother, and it just so happens that the company (Weyland-Yutani) has found the flight data recorder, a.k.a., the black box from the Nostromo and taken it to this station for analysis.
Things are pretty quiet at first.., but not for long. Once you arrive at the station, it's obvious that something is seriously wrong and it only gets worse from there...

I haven't played all the way through the game yet, as of this writing, I've really only got started, but it's a suspenseful ride worthy of the original Alien movie!
One bit of advice that I can give on this game is, even on the easiest setting, this game is NOT easy! If you think you are going to grab this title and whiz through it in one night, I got news for ya, FORGET THAT IDEA RIGHT NOW!
You have to be cautious of EVERYONE on the station, the Alien is NOT the only threat. Some folks will help you, but they are far and few between. Most will try to kill you before you even get a chance to explain what you are doing there in the first place, and don't get me started on the "synths", or Working Joes as they are sometimes referred to. These buggers will ignore you one minute, then try to beat the living crap out of you the next, it's better to try and avoid them altogether, if at all possible.
Another little tidbit of advice.., if one synth sees you, they ALL will know where you are.
They apparently communicate with one another and will come from other areas to help the one that spotted you 'corral' you.., then they procede to beat the ever-lovin' crap out of ya... lol.
Overall, this game has a real "movie feel" to it, it really makes you feel like you are running and hiding for your life, pixellated or otherwise... lol.
You are forced to sometimes make split-second decisions on which way to go simply to escape enemies or even the Alien itself. While you can "fight off" the synths, don't even bother trying to take on the Alien, at least not in the beginning, trust me, you are no match for it early on in this game. You are better off honing your stealth skills and avoiding contact with the Alien as much as possible, at least until you can fashion a few more effective weapons later in the game... Oh, did I happen to mention that Amanda is a very skilled and crafty Engineer? No? Well, you'll find out, and don't forget to grab all the little "techie goodies" you can find, they will MOST DEFINITELY come in handy...
On that note, this game is as much an 'exploration' game as it is an 'evasion' game. To fashion those lovely techie goodies, you have to first find plans for them. These blueprints are scattered about in various places, some are easier to find than others so as not to miss any of them, it's best to look everywhere. This is where the stealth aspect comes in, some of these blueprints are in areas that are guarded by synths, or even worse, patrolled by the Alien.

The sound effects and musical score of this game really add to it's appeal in my book, it sets an atmosphere of both mystery and a strong sense of foreboding, especially in the darker areas of the station. And you know you are in major trouble when not only does your tracker say the Alien is close, but you can actually hear it banging around in the ventilation ducts and in the corridors of the station. It's not afraid of making noise, it doesn't fear you, but you sure as hell will fear it!

The A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) of this game is downright scary at times, even on the easiest difficulty. These critters actually appear to learn your habits, they begin to outthink you and cut you off from escape routes.
The A.I. for the Alien is even creepier.., this thing will track you, if you make noise, it WILL investigate it! It will also occasionally check personal lockers, so if you hide in one, be prepared to act if the Alien comes into the room looking around.
Another tidbit of advice: DO NOT try to outrun the Alien, it can't be done... This is why your tracker is your most important piece of equipment, and your best friend. It can help you keep some distance between you and the Alien.., for the most part. There will be times when you will just have to hide and wait the Alien out, so try to stay as close as possible to anything that might provide some cover, if only temporarily. Believe it or not, the best way to avoid the Alien, is to keep moving.., and most importantly, keep moving QUIETLY. When you do have to hide fast, look for crates and equipment to duck behind, look for tables and desks that you can crawl under and hide, but some of the best places to hide are closets and personal lockers. Their only drawback is that they tend to make noise when you enter and leave them, so try not to hide in these places if the Alien is within 'ear-shot' of ya, it WILL hear you and it WILL come looking for whatever made the noise.

Big thumbs up on this one, if you like stealth games like Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell, this one is a good choice. If you also happen to like the Alien franchise, this is a double thumbs up!!

What to say about this iteration of Assassin's Creed?
I know I said that AC 3 was the best one that I'd played to date, I still think it's awesome, but I may have spoke too soon...
Assassin's Creed Black Flag has become my new favorite "go-to" game when the weather is nasty out and indoor activities are all that can be done.
I especially like the "sea battles". These were first introduced in AC 3 and that's why I liked it so much, but in this one, you can upgrade your ship and crew, add armor, carry a whaling boat, pretty-much whatever you want to do. There are literally all kinds of ways to make money in this game, for anyone to be "broke" in this game is ridiculous when it's so easy to make money. You can whale and sell the procedes from that, you can (of course) raid other ships for new crew members and items to sell, you can make money from treasure hunting and various other 'business ventures' as well.
In short, if you are playing this game and are broke, you are lazy, there's no excuse for not being a very rich pirate in this game...

All in all, I highly recommend this game if you are an Assassin's Creed fan, it's got it all...

As far as flight sims go, this one is probably the most realistic with regards to actual airport and aircraft operations.
Yes, you can adjust the settings for realism to how you prefer to play, but I get the biggest challenge out of full realism settings.

My only real complaint about the Steam edition is that of all the DLCs available (on the internet from 3rd party sites, fan sites, etc.) Steam seems to have 'skipped' almost anything for us U.S. residents. I would like to see more U.S. content for this sim, other than that, it's pretty amazing...

I've played the original boardgame Khet, and this is just like it.
The AI is actually a joy to play against as it appears to adapt to whatever strategy that you come up with. I've only played up to medium difficulty so far, (only had this game for a couple of days as of this writing) so it appears that the difficulty will be a real challenge.
All in all, this is a well-done conversion from boardgame to video game, if you've played Khet in the past as a boardgame, you will like this one. I highly recommend Khet 2.0.

I've been waiting for this one for a while now, and so far, it's been worth the wait!!
This is the best Alien game so far, in my opinion.
It really makes ya feel like you are right in the movies, aliens come at you from all directions just like the movies and you have to react fast or become "alien feed".
Some of the voice acting is done by the actors that played the characters in the movies, I won't tell which actors or characters, I hate spoilers.
So far, game play is smooth, and the graphics are absolutely beautiful.
This game is a MUST HAVE for Alien fans!!

If you are into making short films using your favorite Source games, this is definitely one to check out. It is currently still in beta and as such only utilizes the characters from Team Fortress 2, but you can import and use assets from Counter-Strike: Source as well, you just can't really use the models as "actors" as of yet. There is talk that you will eventually be able to use it for any Source game, but to my knowledge, that has not been confirmed by Valve yet, fingers crossed that they do, this program has awesome potential.

EDIT: After using this program for a while now, I still enjoy it and think that it is well worth the effort to learn.
This brings me to the point that I think needs to be made with regards to SFM.
If you think that you will just install this software and start making top-notch animations in minutes, you are in for a big surprise...
If you have prior experience with other 3D animation software, then some of that knowledge will probably transfer over to SFM rather well, but if you've never done any kind of 3D animation at all, then get ready for a lot of reading and learning, you WILL need it.
There is quite a bit of help out there for the person that is willing to do what it takes to improve at using this software. The community as a whole, is generally very helpful and several of the 'regulars' are very well-versed on how to make SFM do most anything, but the software does have limits. You'd be best served to learn those limits and then learn to work within them as it appears that Valve will never update this software, ever...

I do still recommend this software. I find it quite enjoyable most of the time, though it sometimes can drive ya nuts.
