A brilliant story, beautiful art, great sound design and a bit of medieval history wrapped into a murder mystery.
I highly recommend this game. If you can play it on the Steam Deck.

Early Access Review
This shouldnt be called a "simulator" because it doesnt simulate anything.
This is an attempt of gamification of trains in Europe, but it is deeply, completely, utterly and fundamentally wrong operationally.
None of the signals are correct.
None of the signs are correct.
None of the operational requirements are correct. And frankly i dont mind having to set switches myself (something that will NEVER happen on main and secondary lines in Europe).
I drove in Germany, nothing is correct. You even have to sound the horn on level crossings, something that is ILLEGAL in Germany, even at level crossings without barriers, unless speficially stipulated in the operational instructions for the route. Yet you get fined for NOT sounding the horn.

I don't know what they are attempting to do here, but MSTS with ProTrain might be 15 years old but does a WAY better job at depicting rail operations in germany and looks about the same.

I hope the developers can fix all the above issues at some stage but at this point in time:

1/10 - avoid if you are looking for anything remotely realistic with trains.
The 1 point is given because it didnt crash for me.

Crusader No Remorse is one of my fondest gaming memories from my childhood, that is how old I am.
The Ascent is beyond that.

Let me explain. The core gameplay is solid, the guns feel heavy, powerful and violent. The special abilites have a punch and let you create loadouts with a different vibe. I liked the story, its well written and the sidequests, if you take the time to read them, are funny and entertaining.
There are some quality of life features in the game, you get a warning before you sell the last of an item, weapon upgrades apply to all weapons of that specific model. This makes inventory management incredibly easy and not a chore. So far this game is better than most AAA games already.
What makes the Ascent truly stand out is the quality of design, the art is amazing, packed with details that make it feel alive. And the sound track is one of the best this year and maybe more than that, its a true cyberpunk masterpiece.
The controls are surprisingly easy and intiutive even for someone like me who struggles to keep track of the mouse pointer in the chaos of an isometric shooter. (You have a laserpointer on every gun, it really helps people like me).

There are many games set in a Cyberpunk world, thanks to the revival going on and many of them are good.
The Ascent is one of the best Cyberpunk games you can play right now.

10/10 Would watch Grateful Abbot's feed any day of the week.

City of Ghosts is really a "sequel sized" DLC, the playthrough took me about the same time for the story as the original game. And it delivers exactly what I expected from a DLC, more Cloudpunk. If you liked the base game, this is for you. It certainly is for me.

If i want to find fault with the DLC, I would have loved more Rania dialogue, i just love the character, the writing, the voice actress. The soundtrack is good again, but not es memorable as in the base game.

10/10 worth the money and hope we get another DLC of this quality.

It's interesting how this game draws you in, makes you want to play it in one sitting.
This game is about story and atmosphere and it deleivers. It is easy to lose track of time in Nivalis and immerse in the city and its stories.
It's not perfect, the gameplay is basic and has some flaws, the pacing is at times a bit uneven and it is short. Every minute of the game delivers what it promises though and that has to count for something.

Cloudpunk is a beautifully crafted world that lets you immerse yourself in a city that is foreign and yet familiar and play through a story that is as ambiguous and bleak as you'd expect it from a Cyberpunk scenario.

Absolute Indy Gem, grab this one.

Do NOT buy this!

It's by now an unashamed buggy cash grab. It's a €30 that is more aggressively monetized as comparable Free2Play games. instead of fixing the many bugs in the game, try to prevent the widespread cheating or at least release some playable content they introduce Event Passes.
That are twice as expensive (per day) than the ones that the competition offers and give you less interesting loot.
Did I mention that the competition is Free2Play?

I'm not saying this game is dying but it is certainly beyond it's peak. The future is elsewhere.
Go play the Free2Play alternatives that are better, better maintained, more fairly monetized and are MORE FUN.

Very well done map extension overall. Road layout is interesting and feels right from my travels in Italy. Many new and unique assets, very little repetition to other parts of the map make this truly standout. Good mix of easy and challenging tipping points, the Telepass toll stations work flawlessly, scenery is beautiful. Vive la France was fantastic, this ups the standard another notch. SCS has improved their map making game so much in the past 5 years, it's really great to see this continued support and quality improvement year of year.

10/10 If you like ETS2 this is a must buy.
Can't wait for the next map DLC.

Truck Simulation, but why? Well first and foremost its very relaxing while listening to a podcast. And then you get into it, like the challenge, take the bigger, heavier, longer loads. And all of a sudden you are hooked. Cause ETS2 isn't a simulation, it is a relaxation software.

It helps that while it has been released in 2012 SCS is doing a fantastic job of keeping it updated and add new content, both free and paid, to ETS2. A very invovled and active developer after so many years paired with a great community makes ETS2 a very nice hobby.

The two words you really need to let sink in: Steer Axles.
That's it. Everything else is nice, the new truck configurations are fantastic especially for vanilla players a must have. The loads feel heavy, heavier than any mod for ETS2 does. But the Steer Axles alone are worth the money.

10/10 would skip again skip a pint in the pub to buy this.
Edit: Still absolutely worth it. Get it and train for the upcoming special loads. With escort vehicles! Onwards!

10/10 Would reverse this stuff around a bend again!

Heavy Haul in America is very different from Europe. Many axles on the ground make for long trucks, multiple articulation points for precision driving. If you like a challenge, you will like this.

Pros:
- Multiple articulation points
- different axle configurations with and without boosters
- You feel the weight, better than with any heavy cargo mod.
- Physics are spot on.
- Trailers and addons are well designed and look great.
- fair price (Yes, it costs less than a beer in the pub. C'mon!)

Cons:
- Could be use one or two more loads
- A config with dual axle jeep, triple axle lowboy and dual booster is missing if it exists. Because longer!
And thats just here so you have some Cons listed.
