143 hours playing since october 7.
power outage at the exact moment the game was saving.
save file corrupted, lost all my 143 hours worth of progress.
corrupted save files got uploaded to steam cloud, my only chance to recover failed miserably.
triple aaa games still don't know how to make save files backup.
now i have to worry about manually backing up my save files every game session.

the game is very good, even though i've lost all my progress i'm still enjoying the fights all over again.
i will leave this review until my previous save progress is fully restored.

Nevermind my play time, i'm leaving the game open to listen to the game music.

Most areas of this demo features unique parkour puzzles, lots of variety keeps you entertained, it never gets boring.

Some puzzles have multiple ways to be solved, sometimes leading to non-intended solutions, i have managed to sequence-break a few puzzles by accident, only a few days later i came to realize i solved them in the non-intended way.

Getting all "coins" makes this demo even bigger than it looks, some "coins" requires you to know how the game physics work, while some others require for you to use moves the tutorial area did not make you practice... so you have to practice all your moves and know their physics to get all "coins".

The reason i bought TR 123 Remastered was merely to replace the old games and to avoid playing TR1 inside DosBox or PS1 emulator.

So any "remastered" feature that comes along is just an extra for me, i don't really care if the modern controls are broken as the bad reviews say so.

But in my few hours of playtesting i have noticed a few things which is worth mentioning for hardcore classic players:

-There is no settings to adjust brightness at all, classic mode feels a bit too bright in well lit areas, and a few dark areas you no longer need to use a flare to see anything.

-There is no settings to adjust the framerate, remastered mode has very smooth framerate, but switching to classic mode brings the framerate down to very choppy, which never existed in the originals PS1 or PC versions.

-The remaster mode has nice sound reverbs added which is very cool, but as soon as you toggle to classic mode, all that glamorous reverb goes away because "classic nostalgia does not deserve any enhancements", i wish i could manually toggle the reverb i don't like this being exclusive for the remaster mode only.

-Classic mode water distortion effect no longer exists, which was a huge impression at the time, remaster mode does not have it either.

-The inventory menu background texture is just black in all 3 remasters and TR1 and 3 classic, only TR2 classic mode the texture is correct which is that elegant red carpet waving effect.

This remaster is really well done and is a really good way to bring new players to the classics.
But me as a veteran hardcore gamer with 2 decades of experience with the old TR games i'm not really impressed by the HD graphics, my expectations was to see a well polished port to substitute the old executables, but those points i mentioned above are kinda triggering me so i can't fully recommend this remaster until they fix those.

If you really don't care about classic mode, then i do recommend, this remaster is good enough and has no major flaws.
But if you are like me and expect the remaster to 100% replace the old PS1 and PC versions, then not really (unless they fix those issues i mentioned above).

Now a small surprise for those of you who have read to the end, i have also noticed that in TR3 you can actually crouch roll from a sprint, which is a TR4 move... and also roll off a ledge when facing forward while crouching, which is a TR5 move... maybe this is just an easter egg, or perhaps an accidental proof that they are really planning in remastering TR4 and TR5 as well.

Darksouls 4 disguised as a kids game.
This game is modern but still retains the level design difficulty of PS1 games.
Some levels are very toxic, impossible to not die unless you practice some timing.
Even if you have 25+ years of gaming experience this game will make you lose your cool a few times.
There were a few levels where i wasted like 50+ lives trying to get all crates in the last checkpoints.
Right now i'm having massive difficulty finding some hidden clear/color gems and crates.
I could look for guides but first i will keep trying for a few more days before giving up.
So far i have zero platinum relics, they are ridiculously difficult to get, they are like World Record simulators.

Good game, underrated remake from the same creator of the original Exoddus.

People need to understand that Exoddus was a rushed game originally unplanned sequel to Oddysee.
Soulstorm on the other hand was developed full time for many years, it has a much more mature lore.

The game is not balanced to play on Hard, and some achievements are VERY difficult to complete on Hard, therefore you must only play on Hard if you accept the fact that you will die a lot due to unfair mechanics.

Yes if you have friends to play in a party.
No if you go alone because more sooner than later you will encounter toxic allies that will absolutely ruin your day and possibly give you permanent miserable memories.
