Cons:

1. It's not possible to adjust the graphics settings during the game :/
2. The voiceover startled the hell out of me because I turned my volume up to hear the very nice music
3. "instruct the rabbit to go eat some clover in the local green fields" where are the green fields? Hello? What do clovers look like?? What?? How do I instruct an animal to eat??
it took me like 5 minutes to find the white circle, because I thought those were just map areas/markings. Would help if I was actually told to look for a highlighted/circled area...
4. Muting the voiceover doesn't let you skip dialogue or anything like that
5. I can't find keybinds for pausing / fast forwarding

Pros:

1. This game is kinda cute, I think the wolves and rabbits are cute :3
2. The mating animation is also cute >:3
3. The tutorial is okayish except for some typos (which are unfortunately reflected in the voiceover as well)
4. For an Early Access game it's not bad

I got this game for $7 on sale, which is not a bad price at all. That's only about 5 days for me.

1. can't set to windowed mode without restarting
2. the tutorials don't let me move at my own pace, and force me to wait like 10 seconds before I can continue
3. no keybind to begin the simulation (say, space)
4. no option to lower the framerate when the game is not focused
5. explosions cause a huge lag spike
6. no button to reset a level (without clearing your build) (EDIT: just realized you can double tap R to do that lol, but it's in like german or something)
7. Freecam rotation sensitivity cannot be changed by any means, even if you set it at the main menu and then restart the game
8. freecam rotation does not lock the cursor
9. On 2-6 | Corner, it's impossible to reset the level without completely clearing whatever you built. previous levels do not have this problem and I stopped playing at 2-6

idk why the minimum requirements say everything in the past 3 years is fine, I have an RTX and can't run this game at 1080p 60fps

Firstly.. This game is absolutely adorable, as a furry my heart basically melted when I first started playing this game, it's just so cute and relaxing <3

But it's not an easy game at all, in the tutorial you'll be cursing the fact that you only have 3 actions per animal per day, travelling through all the foliage takes so long and you'll also be stuck diluting the good genes so much that you get animals that aren't good at collecting or nut cracking or clearing foliage and you won't be able to do anything useful :(

I failed to keep a pack that was good at collecting food so I use up all my action points in a day and only get 1 food, which isn't enough to feed the pack, so everyone keeps starving and dying... I was left with 1 poor sick cub travelling to the next island, who was also starving because of a lack of food, and then he DIED :((

I feel so bad...

Died in multiplayer while I was AFK, left the server. Tried to join back.

Friend could not get invites working. No matter how many times they tried to send an invite, I didn't get any. Apparently once you enter a game you can't invite people anymore. Friend has to restart the game, and loads up the world. Friend sends me an invite and I join.

Inventory recovery unit was gone. Apparently restarting the server permanently deletes them.

Over 500 research crystals went with it. RESEARCH CRYSTALS ARE A FINITE RESOURCE, and take FOREVER to collect. I had been mining them for multiple hours and was about to return to base to start researching using our 3 research stations. That were then rendered useless because I had mined most of the crystals on the map.

Refunded. Not playing this game again when there are fatal bugs like these. I'm glad I was able to get my money back, Steam Support was very helpful even though I have more than 2 hours.

I can't help but feel that I've already explored all the content in this game after only playing it for 3 hours. It doesn't feel worth $20, there are many issues with it that hurt my gameplay.

There are only about 20 materials - I can name wood, leaves, dry grass, stone, hematite, iron, pyrite, ancient stone, ancient plastic, wheat, bread, raw/cooked blue slime, raw/cooked red slime. Most of them are just parts of the environment and not useful for much. So just keep that in mind if you want to buy - most of it can be found in an hour.

1. I really like the forging mechanics and the physics based cutting but it's way too sensitive. I find my tools cutting each other and the environment every time I try to put them somewhere.

2. A bearing is the only joint you can obtain in this game. There's no springs, no prismatics (pistons), no ropes/chains.

3. There's no graphics settings. RTX 2060 cannot run this game at more than 15 FPS unless you turn it to 20% resolution scale in SteamVR settings.

4. The attach mechanic is really annoying. It's impossible to detach a part from something that is touching the ground, or else it will instead attach to the ground, because they're the same button. Then you can't take the creation off the ground either, because then it will fall apart. Building any vehicle or raft this way becomes extremely difficult and one mistake could ruin your entire work.

5. The PD controller used for grabbing is badly tuned. If you pick up an axe or hammer made of iron then it will wobble back and forth when you try to swing it. If you are holding objects in both hands you cannot turn, because when it snaps you 45 degrees, your tools collide and cut each other in half. You also can't wield a shield comfortably because it will randomly slam into you and deal you damage.

6. The respawn beacon stops rendering if you go too far, so it's difficult to find your way back home when you're out adventuring.

7. The drone lasers can't be destroyed for whatever reason. You can detach it from the drone, but no matter how you hit it with a stone or try to throw it away, it will keep shooting at you.

8. It's very difficult to grab small objects without the beam teleporting them to your hand. Most often than not the teleport causes other objects to fling far away and it also gets teleported to the middle of your controller, making it extremely difficult to attach it to anything else.

Despite all the flaws I still appreciate the game and hope to follow its development until it one day becomes better than it is now. It's a shame I can't participate in that because the Discord server is Japanese-only (it would be nice if the developer could open up english communication with us). I can't recommend this game to my friends or even non-friends in its current state. It's still a bit entertaining to play but I find myself getting bored often.

I think in the current state this game is not worth $20. It's so early, it's basically a demo/prototype in its current state. It's early access but it shouldn't be that expensive. You should raise the price once you have enough content to justify it. I think a good price would be $5 or $10.

Sorry this review is a bit of a mess, hopefully I got my point across.

This is one of the best games I have ever played.

It has a very dark story, but it's no horror game. That's all I can say about it.

My advice to you: Go in without knowing a single damn thing about this game. Explore and use your curiosity. You will uncover secret after secret and assemble the story over time and at the end you will come out loving the entire thing. But in order to do that, you have to go in without spoilers.

Absolutely no idea how to use the portals. Nothing is explained in their news article and "exit portal" is completely greyed out.

Please comment if you can figure it out.

I really want to like this game. It's fun, but there are too many EA bugs for me to keep playing. Plus I've basically done the whole game by this point.

The loading times are abysmal - it takes multiple minutes to get into a game - even on a 6-core CPU with an NVMe SSD.

Double-wide machines become offset when you reload the save, because their center gets rounded to the nearest cell (when it should actually be between two cells).

The game entirely unloads the map to enter a new area, so you face that long loading time again whenever you exit a cave. What does "creating landfills" even mean?

I'm not giving it a "Not Recommended", because in all honesty I like the game and I hope it gets better eventually. But I don't believe it's worth the $10 that I spent on it. Maybe in the future it will be.

Cute game, fun puzzles. Not exactly what I expected, but it's perfect for a lot of people.
