Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. I always wonder what such things in the cigarette makes my father so into it. I almost pick a cigarette on, and become like him. But my mom stopped, she said to me: “Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your father put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette.

My father smoked his whole life. He smoked everyday, at every time. Whenever I see him, I also see his hand holding a cigarette. He smoked when he felt sad, or when he felt relieved, or maybe it was just his hobby to have a cigarette. Years over years, when I was about 17 years old, my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren, you have to stop immediately. At first, he refused, angrily. But then, when his health started to go down, he realized what was happening to his body, but still, not giving up on smoking. Until I was 24, tears welled up in his eyes when he heard the doctor said he’s having cancer. He gave it up immediately. Unfortunately, it was too late.
