Are you ready for a simple, super fun party game to play with your friends and family? Well if so Chompy Chomp Chomp may be for you!

“Chompy Chomp Chomp is a game where people of all ages, tastes and skills can play together, and enjoy themselves on a level playing field. Play with your friends/kids/boss/gran, lose your inhibitions, shout and scream and generally have an awesome time.”

Gameplay
Remember in Pacman when you used to run away from the ghosts and when you got fruit you’d chase them back? Well imagine that on a much faster, crazier scale! You play as a little chomp and your goal is to eat everything and anything in the time allowed. You have a glow around the base of your character which indicates who your next target is, watch out though because someone is always after you too!

Top Tip
This may seem like common sense but trust me when I say you ever the basics go out the window when playing. So our top tip would be keep an eye on whos after you, and don't get caught in a dead end.

Power-Ups
As with many great games power-ups are involved in the fun, they have various different uses. Some teleport you to a random spot, others make you run fast and some create confusion for other players. We like to aim to get a teleport and when your stuck, out of lucky activate it to keep going.

Graphic Style
What’s nice about this if its got a nice, clean style but if the default isn’t enough you can play in multiple styles around many levels.

It’s time to relaunch Indie Game of the Week with a boom, of dynamite that is!

Cave Coaster is an addictive new Indie Game which sees yourself as a gem hungry miner who loves to ride the rails with his miner buddies and risk it all to claim as many jewels as possible before they fall from the tracks.

We’ve been taking our cart for a ride and here are our thoughts on the game.

Gameplay

Well paced action keeps you playing at a speed that’s balanced enough for you to decide your next move but fast enough to keep you on your toes. As you progress so does the game, making it more challenging and adding more objects for you to understand.

Power Ups

Common in most casual Indie Games are Power Ups as they offer the player a goal to aim for that helps to improve their game.

First up we have the Magnet power-up, this one is designed to suck in all the gems around and help the miner collect more.

Top Tip – Make sure to use the magnet when you’re in a section that is almost completely filled with gems as you’ll collect a lot more!

The Rocket is a big blaster, designed to help speed sections and progress at pace.

Finally the Shield is used to defend your cart against damage, at first this will seem like a un-needed power up but what you quickly come to learn once the game develops is this is one of the most important.

Defending yourself

The best ways to keep riding the rails for longer and progress more within a single run is by picking up friends along the way. Each miner in your cart can be compared to a life in terms of when you crash into a barrier you’ll lose one but be able to recover. Keep your cart full so when it starts getting hairy you’re prepared. As well as having a full cart of miners it’s important to keep an eye on your Shield power up and make sure it’s charged just in case. Using both these solutions will give you a much better chance at survival.

Upgrades

Want to boost for longer, feel stronger or collect more? Then you’ll want to upgrade your power-ups. Using the gems you’ve won and collected you can earn enough to level up and improve your arsenal of powers. Bored of your mine cart? Don’t worry they are unlockable too so keep hitting the caves and you’ll be riding in all sorts of vehicles.

Graphics

Vibrant, full of colour and well crafted. Although when we played it didn’t display in a full screen we were still able to enjoy the rich environments of the caves.

The auto-runner genre is one that’s filled with all sorted of titles so to really stand out you’ve got to create something special

BIT.TRIP RUNNER is a rhythm / music platformer with a fully character-based adventure that’s the latest chapter in the award-winning critically acclaimed BIT.TRIP series.

Run, jump, slide, and kick!

Gameplay

Another fun well paced game that’s only challenge is you get into the rhythm of the level! As with many auto-runners, the pace picks up as you progress and the challenges become more complex.

Cameos

What’s rather nice about this game is the cameos from other Indie Game characters such as Super Meat Boy, these pop up in all sorts of places so you’ll have to keep your eyes glued if you wish to spot them all!

Soundtrack

Sometimes we don’t often talk about when highlighting features of a game is the soundtrack and really it’s one of the most important parts of a game. It keeps you immersed, add to the emotion of the game and even makes you jump from time to time. BIT.TRIP RUNNER has one of the best soundtracks from the Indie Game Genre it’s simply perfect for the gameplay.

Visuals

A rainbow of colour delivered in well crafted blocks, whilst side-loaded it still creates enough depth that the story can interact with the landscapes in ways that help to make this game feel very modern even when it reflects a retro feel.

Retro

Speaking of retro, one of our favourite features about this game is if you perfectly finish a level you get to go on a bonus retro adventure, it’s like having two games in one!

The challenge

With more than 50 levels, new easy and hard modes plus leaderboards and achievements you will find yourself not only challenge your friends but yourself in your quest to be on top with the perfect score!

Ever fancied chopping down the world’s tallest tiki? If the answer is yes then Tiki Man may be the game for you.

Gameplay

Oddly additive. It’s one of the simplest games you’ll ever play and that’s part of the reason it’s so playable. The basic aim of the game is to chop the tiki faces and avoid the tiki arms, it may sound easy but it sure isn’t. The game challenges you to play at pace and keep that pace going as the sections become more difficult.

Unlocks

With four luscious tropical environments and sixteen Tiki Men to unlock there’s certainly a lot for you to earn but you’ll have to be a master of pace to get them all.

Style

It feels very much like one of those Flash Games you’d play at school when you thought no one was watching or when you’ve got a space couple of minutes. It’s by no means the most beautiful game but the look fits perfectly with the style of play, it doesn’t need to be anything more complex because it’s reflective of the simple, quick style you play.

Compete with friends

There’s no multiplayer game modes or challenge your friends modes but that doesn’t mean to say you can’t compete with them. This game has a super simple leaderboard similar to Flappy Birds in which it sounds you your Best Score and your last score. So it’s time to get chopping and beating your friends high scores.

From the team that brought us World of Goo (One of my all time favourite indie games) comes Little Inferno.

Gameplay

A simple drag and drop system where you buy new items from a catalog to successful complete combos and earn more money. It’s a nice little loop. It has a similar art style to that of World of Goo and features some really fun little animations that are tailors to the different items you can use.

Top Tip #001

Make sure to burn at least one of each item in the catalog. We’ve been doing this as we unlock another one because it makes it easier in the long run plus you get to see all the little fun animations as different things burn up. The second reason for doing this is you’ll find out which items like to explode on their own and which need a little extra to get them started.

Upgrades and Progression

There are various ways in this game to progress and upgrade. One of the many ways is using the money you’ve earned in the form of buying new catalogs and extra spaces in your mailbox. The game keeps you aiming for it’s tasks so you’ll have to keep on top of all them combos too if you wanna keep unlocking new stuff.

Top Tip #002

Running low on money after making some bad combos? Track down them pesky spiders as they give you 3 corns and after collecting a couple of them you’ll be back to no good burning things again.

Speed Up

Using the ‘Tomorrow Stamps’ you can speed up your purchases but we wouldn’t advise this certainly in the early stages of the game because it’s got a good progression speed that keeps in fun and entertaining even whilst you wait for your extra items. We were able to complete the game without using any of these at all so if you are willing to put in the time then try and match us on that.

Top Tip #003

The max money you can hold is 999 and the max ‘Tomorrow Stamps’ you can hold is 99, any more you collect after that won’t count so if your coming close why not take a minute from completing objectives and just burn some of your favourite in-game items.

Mail Tasks

As well as completing combos you also have to buy items for the odd little people that like to send you letters.

Our favourite in-game items

We didn’t want to spoil the game too much so we’ve picked our favourites from the early sets of items you get, but later on there are some really entertaining ones

Mini Nuke – This sure packs a punch with a huge explosion.

Mini Moon – This item has its own gravity similar to the moon and allows you to float all your items in mid air
