This game is beautiful and bloody, vicious and delicate, and of course tragic.
It explores many types of trauma, many types of love, and many types of betrayal.
And it nails pretty much everything it approaches.
The trauma end of things is done tactfully, (the LGBT tag isn't a mistake, this is also done respectfully),
the types of love explored are not all simple romance, which honestly I prefer, it feels like a larger scope of emotion and connection is explored within the small world we see centred around this cursed house.

I really recommend this to anyone liking in depth stories that aren't afraid to pick apart any aspect of itself. I feel like almost nothing was put in carelessly, which makes it really enjoyable to replay!
I also recommend this to horror fans, (gore and psychological mostly for this game).

The art work. Omg~ It's absolutely breath taking. I took forever finishing this game as I'd spend ages fawning over the art work <3 I hear it's even better on PS and that they have a somewhat improved version of the game which really sucks, but this is still worth the money and play through, as an experience on its own.

I focus my reviews on accessibility (of all kinds). Below I will go over the general Accessibility/Diversity of the game, Trigger warnings, Pros, cons, Accessibility, suggestions, and my conclusion. If you have any corrections or additions to add regarding accessibility, diversity or technical adjustment options, please let me know below~
Accessibility & Diversity meter: 4/7
This meter indicates the applicable and successful application of diversity and accessibility of this game. This is not a value rating for the entire game.
*1) This game doesn’t pass the Bechdel Test, as there is only one woman in the game. This is common of BL stories.
*2) This game passes the proposed Tyrion Test[disabilitythinking.com] (disabled diversity) as the main character is disabled with memory impairment and trauma, and one of the love interests is selectively mute.
*3) This game passes the Vito Russo Test[www.glaad.org] (LGBT+ diversity) as the MC and another are confirmed bisexual characters, and other love interests are likely to be gay or bi.
*4) This game passes the Duverney Test[www.theguardian.com] (racial diversity). Most characters are Japanese, and one seems to be European/mixed ethnicity.
*5) Sensitivity is poor. Although TWs are provided they seem inadequate and while some serious subjects are handled with some sympathy, others are handled extremely badly, almost like a joke. You can't opt out of sexual scenes and aren't warned when they're sexually violent.
*6) Price accessibility is fair. The game is more expensive than most VNs but it has full voice acting and great art work. It doesn't have any DLCs or microtransactions,
*7) Dev communication seems pretty poor for the last few years. They've likely moved on.

Trigger warnings:
The store page states: ''references to extreme violence, drug use, sexual abuse, and suicide; and graphic visual depictions of consensual, transactional, and (rarely) non-consensual sexual situations between adults.”
*The main character is a rapist and the rapes are graphically shown and described,
*Disability, Brain injury, Disability, Amnesia/Memory impairment,

Pros:
*Diversity in body types is what drew me in. There are large, muscular, hairy, older men in this game, which is unusual to see (especially for the otome BL games). You have an option to edit how much body hair in various parts of the body are on display too. I also was pleased to see some obviously East Asian men in this game.
*Accessibility is fair. There are a lot of settings allowing for change in the sound and speed of text, but there doesn't seem to be specific thought put into disabled accessibility.
*This game has well acted, emotive and diverse voice acting for all spoken communication. It also has a character say a few words when you go through some of the settings or save, which I think is a really cute touch.
*Translations are professional, clear and obviously proof read well.
*Replay value is generally pretty good because you have multiple romantic routes and multiple endings. All ends are apparently not particularly 'happily ever after' romantic endings but that doesn't mean they're bad ends.
*This game has a lot of 18+ sex in it, which are very long and detailed scenes with lots of foreplay, communication and body language reading which was actually quite interesting for me to experience as an asexual person.
*I love the aesthetic. The main character is the cutest design by far. Usually in BL games the main character is extremely plain and dull looking and their personality is muted. This game has a very cute well designed character with a very distinctive personality, which was refreshing and made going through long segments of thoughts extremely fun.
*The music is fairly forgettable in game but the opening song is punchy and fantastic.
*Gallery for all images including the same image with slightly different facial expressions used during sex scenes.

Cons:
*TWs available don't make it clear you'll be playing a rapist character. It states that non-consensual sex is rare but in the route I played (Mako), very sexual engagement was coerced by the MC onto the love interest. Watching my character, who I initially loved and identified with for their poor memory and sense of humour, brutally and consistently show behaviours of my abusers was... honestly quite traumatic. I can play games with r*pe in, but I don't want to play an actual r*pist!
*After the first sexual assault the MC spends some time feeling sorry for himself while admitting its r*pe, but then continues to do the exact same behaviour over, and over, and over, and over again. Apparently it's not r*pe if you 'make them feel nice' (SPOILER IT IS STILL R*PE),
*Doesn't seem to value enthusiastic consent and essentially the idea is 'eh this character isn't very emotive so they'll always look uninterested'. If someone really wants sex, they'll let you know, even if they can't show you the horny face.

Accessibility:
*Self Voicing/screen reading isn't available,
*Contrast text to background is fairly good (black/white; option for blue for read text in replays), and images are visible with a bright palette and clear art style,
*The font is clear but not dyslexia friendly,
*Voice acting is available in Japanese,
*Subtitles are available for speech, but close captions are not available for speech or certain *ahem* noises. There are no image descriptions,
*No colour blind options, although it's not needed for gameplay,
*This game is epilepsy/migraine/motion sickness friendly as it has no flashing lights or shaking images,
*Controls are through keyboard & mouse with autoplay options
*Remapping of keys,
*Adjustable sounds for each characters speech and noises (separately), text speed,

Suggestions:
* Read AbleGamers Includification[accessible.games] for details on accessibility features to include in games, and the benefits of expanding accessibility for all gamers.

Conclusion:
This game as a lot of good points. What initially drew me in was the diverse range in love interests, with different body types, ages and some being obviously East Asian. The first scene introduces you effectively to the 'No Thank You!!!' flag mechanic, both an effortless tutorial and a taste of the well thought out story telling and personality I could expect from the game. The main character is a breath of fresh air compared to most BL/VN main characters, being lifelike, humorous and badass, both able to top and bottom, and not acting surprised that heterosexuality isn't the only way to do love.
It made it all the more tragic that he has such a bad concept of consent (which at times seems to come and go, making it extremely hard to figure out what is happening with that).
Especially as the love interest in my route is a selectively mute, emotionally unexpressive character, who both seemed uninterested in sex and seemed like they had a hard time expressing 'NO' more than they'd already tried and just... gave up the fight each time. Watching a character I really liked, sexually coercing another, repeatedly, to the point of injury, was honestly extremely upsetting. Especially as a r*pe survivor myself.
And with no real acknowledgement of how horrific and traumatic that is (even in emotionally unexpressive people), and the store page claiming this non-con stuff is 'rare' despite it happening the entirety of my route, I'm too nervous that all the other routes will contain people just giving in because they don't want a fight of some kind.
Basically, I'd have to say to this game a massive NO, Thank you!!!
