A decent game if played with 2 friends, otherwise stay away for now

absolute cinema and game of the year, best coop game in existence

Game is fun, but don't expect any major updates really. It's an asset flip, everything except gameplay mechanics is from a single asset pack that you can find on UE fab site for 50 bucks.

The online is unplayable due to lag.

Most DLC bosses are either S or A tier for me, far above anything in the base game, both in terms of gameplay and visuals. The map is absolutely spectacular, probably the most beautifully designed world I've ever seen in a game. The verticality of it is also amazing. New weapons and weapon classes are great. The Scadutree system isn't bothering me a lot, although I see the argument about replayability and challenge runs. The OST is better than the base game, hands down.

Unfortunately, it has some significant flaws compared to the base game:
- Progression is pretty confusing. Some bosses don't have any cutscenes despite being important for the lore. The map is designed for you to branch out to completely different areas, which hurts storytelling in my opinion. Storytelling in From's games is always enigmatic, but this DLC definitely takes the cake. I had barely any idea what was going on throughout most of my playthrough and why I was even there. Not even a broad idea. I didn't have this problem in the base game at all. Maybe I am just stupid, or I missed some vital item descriptions.
- Boss balance. Because of the "branching out" to different areas and no "clear path" to follow like in the base game, it made some bosses way too easy and some way too hard because of the different Scadutree level upgrades you currently possess. This wasn't too much of a problem overall, but maybe two bosses suffered hard from it.
- Some areas are painfully empty. I get that it's a massive expansion, so some areas will be less populated, and I can even understand why the southern regions of the game are empty. However, the entire "Finger-related" questline and the associated regions were barebones as hell, and the recycled enemies, identical to base game versions, sprinkled in are the worst part of it.
- Frame drops and performance are still abysmal. The final fight causes my pretty powerful PC to chug down to 20fps when some attacks occur. This really needs a fix ASAP.

Other than that, it's an amazing DLC, and I had a lot of fun with it despite the flaws.

I love the game's art style, the animations. Early game is crazy fun, But there's no sense of direction, researching goes too fast and is way too overwhelming. Rimworld as a colony sim just does it better for me.

Almost 100hrs and I barely scratched the surface of this game. That should speak for itself.
