This is the best game. It's very pleasant on it's own, the people on it make it the peak game that it is!

There is 100% a learning curve, but once you get moving, you should be fine. A couple words of warning: Deerclops will screw you over at the end of winter if you haven't prepared, but other than that is fine, watch out for falling frogs, appease the antlion during summer, and don't be afraid to download a few qol of life mods, or mods in general. I personally recommend Geometric Placement, Combined Status Hud, and any of the Fast Crockpot mods. A few content mods I would recommend are Epic Healthbars and Deluxe Campfires. If you plan to set up a server, they can be a pain, especially if you plan on modding them, so make sure you have some time on your hands, and a decent amount of patience.

It's a persona game, regardless of how it's played. Pretty good.

Running a server counts as playing the game. Cool stuff.
