This version does not even have Dolphin. Also loads of other cores are missing. You better get the version from here:

Even two years after release, the game lacks many seemingly common sense quality of life tweaks, which I *had* to fix with over two dozen mods (RIP console players). Please include more of those into the game.
The story needs to be more fleshed out.
Almost all game mechanics/terms are not explained.

But the devs sure know how to design weapon handling and sounds. The music is also pretty iconic.

Fatshark, please add Chaos Wastes as a game mode.

The story causes me huge physical discomfort while playing, because it is so uninspired, boring, inauthentic. The representation of most kryptis is laughable at best, because they are basically just human with another model. Don't get me started on rifts, absolute dogwater content.

I only really liked some of the new weapons and the relic system (although they stole our pets without compensation).

Basically only bought this to annoy my squad mates with fart clouds on heal untamed, so they don't see dangerous mechanics on the ground.

In theory this could be an all time classic, unfortunately they absolutely butchered the performance compared to MW2 or Cod 4, mouse delay is higher than in the other aforementioned tites at same frame per seconds.

Additionally to that I found a game breaking bug. When you start a discord stream and tab in and out of the game, it crashes your game and CORRUPTS YOUR PROFILE so you cant buy stuff with your cod points anymore.

Sure with friends it's fun, but there are better alternatives. The price is too high considering its age.

Lets keep it short. The driving in itsself is absolutely phenomenal. Too bad the campaign difficulty is too insane compared to dirt 3 or 4.. The first race's difficulty is comparable to the highest diff from Dirt 4. One little mistake and you can say goodbye to the first place, which is pretty disheartening.

If you want a more casual experience, rather get Dirt 4

EDIT: I got friggin better and now the game is actually fun xD

Got this game as a gift from my great sister and decided to finally review it. First of all, I really want to like this game. The attention to detail is phenomenal. The weapons, outfits, sounds are authentic. The squad system is really unique and interesting, I like it. I would consider this the top layer of a game, underneath it is a mess. A big mess.

The jumping animation is GOOFY as ♥♥♥♥ (because it nearly doesn't exist)

The optimization is BAD, playing on 90 to 120 fps - which is hardly reachable even on lowest settings - feels like 30 fps because for some reason this game has some of the worst input delays I witnessed in my pc gaming career, just sluggish. Even R6S is better optimized and that is coming from a pc playerbase hating publisher.

You can't lean, which only gives you the option to slow peek (don't do it) and jumping around the corner with afore mentioned silly jumping animations. Great fun, not.

The hitboxes are absolutey TERRIBLE, I have several clips showing clear shots not registering, the developer doesn't seem to care (atleast they showed no reaction to it on discord).

Footsteps are audible to about 5m, no joke.

So underneath this amazing work done for researching and modeling etc is an unsatisfying first person shooter experience. You get my point.

When someone would ask me, if I could recommend Verdun in its current state, I would clearly say no, not even for 10€. Don't get me started on splitting up the playerbase by releasing Tannenberg as a separate game, which is a ghost town.

EDIT 16.03.18:
Unity Dev team actually released an update (in Dec 17) which recently got implemented into Verdun. The performance and input delay is much better now.

The right mix between spine chilling mindfack and 4d chess. The first playthrough tells you something about your personality, which is pretty neat. (I am sly btw.)

Let's put down those nostalgia tinted glasses and review this game without prejudice:

Cons:
-Grenade spam

-Killstreak spam is annoying
When your team is full of feeders in TDM, you are going to have a bad time.

-Weapons are imbalanced:
Most of the weapons are obsolete or too situational (Scorpion, Mini Uzi, all non Deagle pistols)
M40 is basically a better R700
Barett tops them all with no downsides
P90 aka "M4 light" no recoil spray gallore
Mini-Uzi with ♥♥♥♥ damage and tons of recoil coupled with ♥♥♥♥ reload times

-Annoying af perks
Martyrdom, Last Stand, 3x Frags and Specials

-Absolutely useless perks
Eavesdropping, Iron Lungs, bomb squad thingy

-Grenade spam

-Dropped Punkbuster support
You will have to install it manually.
(there arent many cheaters by any means though)

-Server lists showing wrong pings

-Laggers (guys from Sri Lanka connecting on EU servers please kmn)

-Underwhelming game mode selection due to low player count (<3000 Servers for a decade old game is still decent though)

-Grenade spam

Fortunately for us, some genius minds released a community patch 1.8 (Search for cod4 x or just join a server which automatically downloads it for you) which yields us:
+improved gameplay like no sniper sway and cash based killstreak system (depending on server)
+over the air updates (no manual patching)
+bugfixes
+backwards compatibility
+anti cheat
+backup master server in case ACTVI shoots master server from space

The mod selection is superb: jumper, death run, Combined Warfare(ever wanted to play MW2 AK-47 while being able to lean? Just awesome)
Strafe jumping adds a whole new layer of gameplay, which newer games miss. It is also insanely fun.

I recommend gathering some friends to play, which makes it a lot more worthwhile and tactical.

Oh there is a grenade again.
