Minimize the game and go do something else for around 4 hours.
Be sure to check every so often though because it likes to just suddenly stop giving achievements. If this happens, just restart the game.

Some games give items for unlocking certain achievements, so it's conisidered cheating you dummy

it's still considered cheating by most people to hack in achievements

It's always cheating. There's always a way to fix the achievements from not working.
