List of Astrals You can Counter Using Hakumen's Astral

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you're playing as Hakumen, and you have full Magatama and think, "They've got full Heat, it's our final round, I want to humiliate them in the most Hakumen way possible."

Worry not, my good Hakumen player! Here's a list of what characters' astrals you can Akumetsu like a total badass.

(This guide is in no way written by Hakumen himself. No siree Bob.)

Black Onslaught (Ragna the Bloodedge)

Yes! With a well timed Akumetsu, the Black Beast himself is no more.

Rengoku Hyoya (Jin Kisaragi)

This one's hilarious. You can actually counter this one if you have the right timing, but what's great is you can do it no matter how close or far away from Jin you are! So space yourself out when he's readying it, pop the Akumetsu, and hit him dead from halfway across the screen. Take that, past me!

Valkyrie Veil (Noel Vermillion)

Now if this were CT or CS, maybe you could do it, but when CP came around, Noel started copying your style like a poser and has a counter Astral herself. This guide is primarily for the far more awesome Hakumen, but I guess Noel could counter most of these Astrals. Most of them.

Clownish Calendula (Rachel Alucard)

Nope. That damn harlequin is too cheap and can resist Akumetsu.

Attack Nyamber One! (Taokaka)

Yep, you can counter this. That dumb cat won't know what hit her.

King of Tager (Iron Tager)

NOPE! I swear you could in previous games, but I guess the Grimalkin enchanced her lapdog with some anti-Hakumen ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gloves.

WHITE VOID UPDATE: You could! YOU COULD COUNTER IT IN CP! DAMN GRIMALKIN.

Nine Gates of Heaven (Litchi Faye Ling)

Also a funny one! If Litchi attacks Hakumen while he's countering, she gets her block knocked off as soon as she touches the ground. No breasts can resist the Okami!

n infinity (Arakune)

In previous games it had no effect on Hakumen when using Akumetsu, but in CP and this game, it is counterable. Sorry, my fellow Boundary Bro.

The Ultimate Bang (Bang Shishigami)

Even Akumetsu cannot trump the manliness that is Bang Shishigami! Though, Bang's Astral is hard to pull off so you might rarely see this one.

Deus Ex Machina (Carl Clover)

Argh, first the Harlequin, now this lame child? This Astral cannot be countered! I....er, I mean Hakumen will not stand for this!

Kokujin Ogi: Akumetsu (Hakumen)

YOU CANNOT COUNTER HAKUMEN!

Sword of Destruction (Nu-13/Lambda-11)

No Murakumo unit can Hug.EXE the mighty Hakumen! This Astral can be countered!

Requiem Aeternam (Tsubaki Yayoi)

...I'm sorry, my dear friend, Tsubaki, but I can counter your Astral Heat.

I don't even have anything witty to say.

Hungry Darkness of 1000 Souls (Hazama)

Not counterable?! Damn you, Terumi!

Sword of the Godslayer (Mu-12)

Pitiful! Not even a Hug.EXE from the Child of the Azure can stop the Akumetsu!

Planet Crusher (Makoto Nanaya)

Makoto's Astral is counterable on all three levels of Impact. This also applies to her Overdrive, but it is much harder to time there.

Blut Vollmond (Valkenhayn R. Hellsing)

Your Astral is still able to be countered, Valkenhayn, no matter how much of a "sick flip" that's "hip with the young'uns" it is.

Shining Layered Force (Platinum the Trinity)

While this Astral cannot be countered, it is strangely possible to block using a regular Drive technique. Noel will not have any luck, however.

The Puppeteer's Altar (Relius Clover)

Unable to be countered. Ignis too stronk.

Judge of Destiny (Izayoi)

Much like Tsubaki's initial form, this Astral is able to be countered.

Jakutoku Meika: Gohahoyo (Amane Nishiki)

...ZEA? (This astral cannot be countered!)

Hard Kill Bringer (Bullet)

You can counter this attack with Akumetsu, but it is very difficult to do so. Proceed with caution!

Patriot Apocalypse (Azrael)

Pitiful Mad Dog...not even punching the earth stops Akumetsu!

Black Dragon's Skyrending Blade (Kagura Mutsuki)

The Black Knight's Astral cannot triumph over the White Susano'o's Astral. Take that, lover boy!

Armament No. 99 "Ultimate Impact" (Kokonoe)

Now she's using the anti-Hakumen ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gloves?! You cannot counter the Grimalkin! Humiliating!

WHITE VOID UPDATE: This was counterable in CP as well?! Curse you to hell, Grimalkin!

Unholy Wrath of the Basilisk (Yuki Terumi)

Impossible! This one seems like a direct attack, but is not able to be countered by Akumetsu...DAMN YOU, TERUMI!

Atout Rilettes (Celica A. Mercury)

Celica's healing power is immune to Akumetsu's effect! What happens if you were to counter a heal anyway?!

Heavenly Disappearance "Wailing Raven" (Hibiki Kohaku)

Able to be countered. A decent-looking Astral wasted on an empty, boring person.

Edge of Eternity (Naoto Kurogane)

This move can be stopped with Akumetsu as well!

Colorless Void (Nine the Phantom)

Impossible to counter! The Mercury bloodline is surely strong here...

Eternal Darkness (Izanami)

While similar to Hazama's, this Astral is actually able to be countered! It also will not mess with your TV settings or make claims about memory card failur...wait, wrong Eternal Darkness.

Type: Exterminator - "Artorius" (Es)

This little Azure girl falls victim to the effects of Akumetsu! Go eat pudding and cry!

Royal Crimson Sprout: “New Moon Lotus” (Mai Natsume)

Not even one of the Duodecim's Hazuki family is capable of stopping Akumetsu.

Roar of the Mad King (Susanoo)

This is one form of Terumi I can defeat with Akumestu! Finally!

Asura: Thunderbird Rising (Jubei)

Time for "Math Class with Hakumen!"

Akumetsu + Cat = ASTRAL FINISH!

...Why does this guide exist?

Because I, Not-Hakumen, the totally not white void, the absolutely not cold steel, the definitely not just sword, with my not-blade in hand, reaping the not-world of not-sin, and cleansing it in the not-fires of not-destruction, need to let you know just how awesome of a fighter that I...er...Hakumen is!

Fun facts in bbcp:
- Astral hazama couldn't be A countered but his drive could
- It's possible to A countered Hakumen astral. Well, in fact, you countered his drive cancel into astral by... cancelled one of your move into astral. So you'll see his astral pose but it's his drive who trigger your ^^

i would love to call this a good guide cause it is, but it's just the fact i despise fighting hakumen in general.

I Just Checked, Since Equiping Noel's Old NOL Uniform Gives You Access To Her Old And New Astral, I Can Confirm That Her Old Astral Is Counterable In Chronophantasma And Central Fiction With Yo-...I Mean, H-Man's Astral. I Also Checked Calamity Trigger And Continuum Shift Since You Didn't Seem Sure, And It's Counterable There As Well. So All Around, Always Counterable.

Sadly akumetsu has been nerfed in BBCF
It catch everything even unblockable
but it lose to Projectile, throws / command throws and Automated Dolls

That good moment when you can catch Golden Tager Buster in CPEX is gone...
