How To Make Your Car Lighter
By MadDog⁴⁴³
In this GUIDE I will explain how to make your car much lighter than other cars. I will explain the differences in weight on each part and the lengths of parts compaired to in-game. (so you can build objects that are a 1:1 ratio in scale)

Lengths
The Seat is streched out to 1 meter by 2 meters.

The grid on the editor is measered out to be 0.4 meter by 0.4 meter.

The Default length for the Rod is 0.5 meter.

Notes
From what I've noticed I know to use Angle Locks way more because of the fact that they are much lighter than they should be. I was able to build cars using Angle Locks and I was able to reduce the weight in half. The main trade-off is that the Angle Locks are ugly and it takes time to hide them.

Angle locks are good for starters who don't completely understand the game, although later down the road you can make your car much lighter without angle locks or with a combination. One of the best tricks I've learned (thanks to a friend) is to set all frames to 0.2 and see what gets damaged; just double the strength of that part and keep repeating.

You can select the whole car, and hide the angle locks
Alternatively, you can double the sim frequency and divide the frame weight by 4 without losing stiffness

Also if you pair this idea to just the cockpit of the car you could build a rather realistic car with crumple zones and such

Good idea! That works as long as you're not trying to make a car that can survive a car crash.

Heres another great way to make your cra lighter, if you swelect thew whole car the first thing that will come is the frames, reduce the frame weight and strength to 1 then select the seat and set repair speed to 10, your car will now not have damage done to it but it will be very light weight
