Hello and welcome to the .hack//G.U. Compendium!

This is a small guide I made for myself to help me with finishing most of the collection-type aspects of the games, such as collecting all the items, collecting all the bounties, finding all the players to hand flyers to etc.

I decided to make this guide after finishing the main story of the first volume and then finding out that I had to collect a lot of stuff to help level up the guild and fill in the Book of 1000. I decided to compile all of that information from different walkthroughs into a single guide.

I felt it would be a waste if I only kept it for myself, so I decided to share it and put it up here on Steam for the convenience of other players who will most likely find themselves seeking the same information I did.

Hopefully this way, you can just open the Steam overlay and check out this guide and use it to figure out what items and whatnot you may be missing.

Lucky Animal Campaign

Below is an excerpt from the walkthrough I used:

Here is a list of all the Lucky animals, and where they can be found. If you
can't find one in the specified area, then try again one more time. Sometimes
they don't show up where they are supposed to.

In order to complete the campaign, you will need to kick all the different
types of animal once and at least fifty animals altogether.

The game decides what Luck Animals to put where based on the final number of
the Area Level, and whether the area is a field or a dungeon. So, Gold Birds
will show up at fields that have an area level of 9, 19, 29, 39 and 49.
Though, there are also some other variables thrown in here that I wasn't
able to pin down. However, I know this list works once Haseo and all his
allies are at level 50, and the main story is complete.

My Comment:
So to reiterate on what was said, if you AND your allies are Level 50 and you have finished the main story: going to the Areas listed below will have the lucky animal that you are looking for.

Chaotic PKs: Rebirth







The Chaotic PK's randomly appear in Battle Areas.

Berserker always has an battle area, while other areas has a chance of them spawning in the field.

The area words I provided has a battle area close to the portal for a quick in and out.

I've updated the Area Word for this section since as he stated, a Battle Area always spawns.

You can use this to farm the 50 PK's you need as well as finding the Chaotic bounties. It didn't take me too long to do it myself using this method.

My Comment:
Honestly, I found this campaign pretty easy to complete and didn't have any trouble with it. I made sure that I talked to every player I came across and paid somewhat attention to the names and always ran after someone in town if I thought I haven't spoken to them before.

By the time I finished the main story, I only had 10 more players to find, and most of them were in Lumina Cloth.

A tactic I used in finding the remaining 10 was to check all the players in Lumina Cloth after every Survival Battle I finished while I was grinding in the arena. I found this to be a helpful method in finding more players.

My Comment:
In almost every field and dungeon, you'll eventually come across a little android Grunty where you can feed him some Chim Chims. I personally never found myself to need to grind for him, because I would make sure I 100% every area I end up going to while I was playing the game.

So you shouldn't find yourself needing to grind this campaign if you don't rush doing fields and dungeons throughout your playthrough.

However, if you end up finding that you need to grind him, you can use this area word:

Δ Graceful / Wrath's / Berserker

According to this forum post[gamefaqs.gamespot.com], you should find a Battle Area and a Mecha Grunty right at the beginning, with multiple Chim Trees and a Lucky Animal at the center of the map behind the Beast Temple.

Monsters Rebirth Volume 1 is missing two crabs, there should be 8 crabs total and not 6.

Sure! Feel free to translate this guide in Spanish, there's no need to credit my profile, but thank you. Just please make sure you do add the same credits I used in my "Bibliography" section because that's where most of the info in this guide came from.

Unfortunately I never ended up finishing the Vol. 3 section, but I did leave links in the bibliography for it. You also may want to take note of some of the comments on the guide because I believe some helpful people did find minor errors or more useful area words.

I do still have the original files I was using to make this guide, so I may return to add in the Vol. 3 stuff some day. Finding the free time to do so is the issue, though.

Best area I've found for getting PK's, Lucky Animals, and Mecha Grunty for the volume 3 portion of the game. Mecha Grunty and Sleipner are both right beside the starting platform, walk 10 feet for each. The PK zone is on the last island, and you can find at least 2 cheat codes up to 3 each time you enter this zone as well with area hacking.

I'm playing it for a second time using this walkthrough, I still have problems remembering where stuff is. Like we had time to get everything between the original volume releases (in fact it was encouraged) but with all the titles in one place, it gets kind of tedious to do random area words every time.
