Introduction
Hello! This is my guide to help get you on the retro road to beating 10,000,000.

This guide contains the following:
  • The Story
  • Gameplay
  • Items, Potions and Monsters
  • Final Notes

Words, words, words and stuff.

Enjoy!
The Story
Setting
The game is set thousands and thousands of years ago.. Way back when dragons, goblins, swords and spells were all the rage. Probably.

This is one of those games that drops you right in the thick of it. The plot, the character's name, and the location are unknown. It's very much up to you to decide the who, what, where, why and when.

Player
This is you.

This is also you.

Can you guess who this is?

Anything else?
In terms of storyline, there isn't much to talk about. You are a man who has awoken inside a castle, and desperately needs to escape. By any means necessary. *Cue dramatic music*
Gameplay
10,000,000 is a 2D endless-runner/tile-matching hybrid game with a simple goal that's surprisingly hard to achieve. The objective is to escape the castle. In order to do this, you will need to earn 10,000,000 points. It's the name of the game, yo!

You gain points by dungeon-running and killing monsters. Here is a screenshot of a run:

This game relies heavily on quick reactions. As you start running through the dungeon, you will encounter obstacles and enemies that stop you in your path (an example would be our green friend in the screenshot). In order to continue running, you must remove/kill whatever is in front of you. The quicker you react, the longer you run. This is because the camera will continue to move forward, and if you do not remove whatever is in front of you fast enough, the camera will cut you off and you die. Plain and simple.

To make matters worse, the enemies you encounter will regularly hit you; hits that push you closer and closer to the edge of the screen.

Killing Monsters
To kill monsters, you must match up a row of 3 or more sword tiles/spell tiles:

The more tiles you match in a row, the more damage you deal. With sword attacks, you get a small chance to crit your enemies. This crit chance can be increased with various sword upgrades. Spell attacks have a small chance to emit a "special effect", which includes freezing enemies or poisoning them for some delicious DoT (damage over time). Like critting, the chance to emit a special effect is increased with spell upgrades.

Removing Obstacles
As briefly mentioned earlier, you will also come across obstacles. Doors and chests to be precise. To remove these obstacles, you must match up a row of 3 or more key tiles:

These key tiles will unlock the chests/doors you encounter. Doors typically have one lock, and chests have two. A row of 3 key tiles will unlock one lock. A row of 4 key tiles will unlock two.

Shield Strength
Another tile present in the game is the shield tile. You'd never have guessed it, but the shield is what's used to block monster attacks! Sarcasm rules.

To increase your shield strength, you must match a row of 3 or more shield tiles:

Since your shield absorbs enemy hits, it will stop you from being pushed further to the edge of the screen. It is therefore important to maintain your shield strength by matching tiles throughout your run.

Wildcard Tile (lolwtfbbq1337h4ck3rz)
In my opinion it should have just been called Wild Tile. This tile can take the form of anything on the board. It cannot be used by itself, and must be used with either another wildcard tile, or two of a different type of tile.

Par exemple:

These tiles are obviously useful but quite rare, so it's best to use them only when necessary.

"Backpack Backpack, Backpack Backpack"
There are a number of items that can help you throughout your dungeon-runs. These range from keys and weapons to scrolls and health boosts. Individual items and their effects will be covered later in the guide.

Matching a row of 3 or more bag tiles can result in you finding an item:

The more bags you line in a row, the more chance you have of obtaining items! Simples.

C-C-C-Combos
Matching more than one row of tiles in the same move is classed as a combo. Rack up high combos to plough through monsters and obstacles faster. Combos are good. Combos are tasty.

Would you like to see some combos? Of course you would:

Resources
Resources are collected during your dungeon runs. There are four kinds of resources, and all four are of equal importance. They are (in order of the picture) experience, wood, stone and gold.

Collecting resources are important for two reasons:
  • They are used to upgrade your character and castle (more on this later)
  • Gaining a lot of resources makes you feel a little awesome

Experience is awarded by killing monsters.

Wood and stone appear as tiles on your board. They have no immediate effect on your dungeon run, but are nonetheless crucial to collect.

Matching these tiles in a row will add wood and stone resources to your collection. The same principles apply here, in the sense that the more tiles you match in a row, the more resources you collect. It is very important to match wood and stone tiles whenever possible because not only are they important to your progression, but they will block your board from spawning more dungeon-useful tiles like swords and keys.

Gold is awarded by opening chests and completing objectives. Objectives?! Oh yeah, objectives.

Objectives
When you start the game you will be at the lowest rank possible. Here is a list of ranks from the ground up:
  • Rookie
  • Wayfarer
  • Vagabond
  • Dungeon Crawler
  • Scout
  • Questor
  • Adventurer
  • Explorer
  • Dungeon Master
  • Hero
In order to increase your rank, you must complete certain objectives.

Here is a screenshot:

Note: There are no objectives for the 'Rookie' rank. The next rank with objectives however, is 'Wayfarer'.
Extra note: To the right you will see a Score Multiplier, Resource Collection and a list of monsters. As you ascend ranks, the multiplier and collection rate will increase, but so will the monsters' toughness! And you thought this would be easy!

Upgrades
In the beginning of the game, you wake up in a room with 5 doors. At the moment, these doors are boarded up and as a result, you are unable to enter them. Making each door accessible will cost you a certain amount of wood and stone resources.

Each door leads to a shop that offers certain upgrades to your character which you will need in order to survive long enough to get those points! These shops are:
  • Staffmaker - Allows you to purchase staff upgrades for gold
  • Blacksmith - Allows you to purchase sword upgrades for gold
  • Trainer - Allows you to purchase character perks for experience
  • Shieldmaker - Allows you to purchase shield upgrades for gold
  • Alchemist - Offers potions with game altering effects (available per rank)
  • Armourer - Allows you to purchase armour upgrades for gold

Shops can be upgraded with extra wood and stone up to three times, with the exception of the Alchemist shop that can't upgrade. Each shop upgrade will offer higher quality character upgrades (for a higher price of course).
Items, Potions and Monsters
Items
As previously mentioned, items are picked up along the course of a run to aid you. You can either match backpack tiles or kill monsters for a chance to receive items. All of these are consumable, and have one use.

Here are the items you can receive:
These are food items. Consuming one boosts your health, and pushes your character further away from the edge of the screen.

These are magical orbs. Using one will damage the enemy in front of you.

These are weapons. Similar to orbs, using these will damage the enemy in front of you.

These are scrolls. They change wood and stone tiles into the item displayed on the scroll.
W = wood, S = stone.

And then there's the skeleton key. All by himself in his own little category. His face says it all. This little guy will open all locks on a chest or door of your choice.

When you find an item, it will automatically fill one of your inventory slots. You have 4 inventory slots, but one of them will be unavailable until you unlock it with a skill perk (it costs 16,000 exp).

Loot slots before and after le upgradé.

Potions
As previously mentioned, one of the shops you will repair in your castle is the Alchemist. This shop is unique in that it doesn't require any further upgrades to access all the potions available. Instead, potions are unlocked as and when you increase your rank.

Here are the potions:

And now for each potion in a little more detail, from left to right on each row.

As you can see, there are a range of different effects available. Good and bad. So pick wisely!

Monsters
Monsters are a pain. Some of them have melee attacks and some of them have ranged attacks. Because of this, you will sometimes get into a situation where you are left to deal with a melee monster whilst a ranged monster is pew-pewing your candy-white butt!

Aside from melee and ranged monsters, there are a couple of bosses you've gotta deal with when you come near the end of a level.

Lo and behold, a list of all the monsters within the game:

I am at 9,460,000 but I do not gain score anymore. Kinda feels like the game is rigged.

You seem to have left out what the monsters are weaker to; physical or magic. The game says that magic attacks and orbs are more effecting against armored enemies like Fallen Soldier and Golem. I know that the Goblin Cannon Crew is especially weak to physical attacks... :theswords:

@Magpie: Late reply, but you've probably activated a potion that grants you a bonus in exchange for earning no XP.

For some reason I have stopped earning xp. I kill many monsters but my xp never increases. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

An improvement I would make to this guide, is to organise the orbs/weapons into least to most powerful.
