This is a completion guide for levels 1 to 97 of Squares.

Following the moves listed will complete all levels and award all achievements.
[There may be other ways to do it, but these are the moves I used.]

NOTE:
Level 96 is currently impossible to complete using the conventional moves and rules established in game. However, by abusing the glitch with the "Step Back" button, it is able to be worked around, completing the level, awarding the Level 96 achievements, and unlocking the final level.


Guide Key:
R = Move red 'square(s)'
B = Move blue 'square(s)'
Y = Move yellow 'square(s)'
G = Move green 'square(s)'

I have tried to condense repeated moves so they are easier to follow.
eg. R5 = Move red 'square(s)' five times.

BEWARE!

Using the "Step Back" button can sometimes cause the game to glitch unrecoverably, forcing a full closure and reopening of the program.

The glitch seems to occur when using the "Step Back" option repeatedly in quick succession. It is more common when the "Step Back" includes moves through special tiles such as 'direction-changers', 'teleporters' or 'colour-changers'.
When glitched, the 'squares' will flick about the game grid, swapping and moving places at high speed.

It is impossible to continue playing at this point. Even after a re-loading of the stage from the stage select menu, although the 'squares' seem to be behaving, the special tiles may not work (or might work strangely).

The only real fix is to close and reopen the whole application.

Level 96 should be completed by: B R7 B

However, following this pattern will show that as the two 'squares' are positioned at the top of the center column (after the 4th R movement), the next two moves should push the them down to line up with the 'stars'.
This goes against the rule that the game has put in place; two 'squares' of the same colour will move together. Therefore, the 5th R move correctly sends the lower red 'square' to the left, making the level impossible.

WORKAROUND
To 'finish' this level use the moves:
B3 R4
THEN
Click the "Step Back" button twice quickly, as if double-clicking.
The aim is to get the red 'square' to bypass the 'direction changer' and end directly below it, while still pointing to the left.
Keep trying, the glitch will eventually work in your favour, allowing you to end with:
