Basic Mechanics to Improve Fall Survivability
There are a few tips I have to help you survive big falls in general in this game.

1. Pumping and Counter-Pumping

Pumping and Counter-Pumping can help you control your vertical and horizontal air, and Counter-Pumping can be used to cushion your impact and reduce your chance of bailing on big jumps. Its all a matter of getting the timing right.

Pumping while riding into a ramp will give you an increase in speed, helping you get farther. Press the Right Control Stick down to pump. Counter-Pumping can reduce your vertical air by pressing the Right Control Stick up right before leaving the lip of a ramp.

Counter-Pumping can also cushion your impact by pressing up on the Right Control Stick right before landing. You can find videos for these in the Advanced Tips in the Menu after clearing the Highlands Boss Jump.

2.Angle

Angling yourself properly also contributes to having a softer, more survivable landing. You want to try to land flush with the surface you about to hit. These can be signified by getting a "Clean Landing" if you nailed it, but you can still reduce your impact even without getting a "Clean Landing."

3.Braking

Braking is critical to getting your speed in the perfect range to survive a Boss Jump without overshooting or undershooting it. You want to flutter or pump your brakes lightly to help reduce your speed without sliding all over the place or losing too much speed. Holding down your brakes will cause you to slide, which can work out in your favor depending on what you're dealing with, just something good to be aware of.

Try to only brake as you are still going downhill. Doing it where the terrain levels out or where the ramp begins will make you lose speed much more quickly, making it difficult to tell if you hit the right speed or not, or outright making you undershoot the jump.
Highlands Boss Jump

The Highlands Boss Jump is the first boss jump you can encounter in the game with one main variable being the Train.

The main thing to get nailed down for a Boss Jump to consistently survive it is the speed you hit the jump at. Here with the Highlands Boss Jump, you want to hit the ramp at a KPH of 66-68(41-42 MPH) if the train isn't there. You can make it over the train at 68 KPH if you time your bunny hop very well. Otherwise you want to shoot for right around 69-70 KPH (43 MPH) Remember to use Counter-Pumping as you land if you feel you have too much height or too much distance as you land.

Here's a shot of the gap being done at 68 KPH with a good bunny hop.

Forest Boss Jump

The Forest Boss Jump has been considered the most difficult Boss Jump next to the Peaks Boss Jump for a lot of players to land consistently.

You have two options with this Boss Jump:
Landing on top of the tower and jumping down onto the next ramp
or
Jumping over the tower onto the next ramp.

Your safest bet is landing on top of the tower and jumping down. The speed you want to aim for is anywhere from 72-75 KPH (44-46 MPH). Make sure to Counter-Pump and angle yourself accordingly as you land on the tower, I find it easy to still bail from the impact of a poor landing on the tower.

To jump clean over the tower, you're going to want to aim for right around 83 KPH to clear the jump. The hardest part about this is making sure you fly off the ramp straight, as it can be easy to fling yourself off the sides if you aren't careful.
Canyons Boss Jump

The Canyons Boss Jump is pretty straightforward compared to the other Boss Jumps. You have higher speeds you are dealing with and the ride down is pretty steep. You can easily overshoot this jump if you dont flutter your brakes and carefully control your speed. It is just two ramps with a massive gap in between.

The speed you want to hit the ramp at is anywhere from 75-78 KPH (46-48 MPH).

The positions you will need to flutter your brakes at are these slopes, as their gradient will give you a pretty large boost in speed very quickly. Flutter those brakes and keep your speed under control.

First Major Slope

Second Major Slope (Right Before the Ramp)

In my experience 78 KPH is the most optimal, usually transitioning you to the other side perfectly with a bunny hop. This is where Counter-Pumping is critical to understand for this jump with how easy it is to overshoot. It can be the difference between just making it and busting face, so make sure to Counter-Pump right before you land!

Sorry guys I play Descenders very infrequently nowadays. Haven't done much of Career plus or any of the new major content so chances are I won't be updating this any further than the information already present.

This was my first ever Steam Guide, so I'm really glad it was able to help some people overcome the original boss jumps. Thanks for checking out this awesome game, I've been following it since it's very early stages and its truly wonderful to see how enjoyable this game was and is to so many players. The devs deserve all the love! Thanks for taking the time to consult my guide for some tips :) Keep on riding and live a good life!:praisesun:

Don't get how to successfully do the canyon jump with the fire node on.. I was able to get through the hoop with around 60 mph but of course that wasn't enough to actually get across the canyon.

RageSquid making me rage on the forest jump. 360ing it is ridiculous. Game was insane fun until then, now I gotta keep doing the same fucking place 800 times just to fail the 360 jump over and over and over again.

massive whip/tweak mid air helps kill a lot of the momentum if you find your about to overshoot at your apex of any jump never had to go more then 70 on any of the boss jumps cuz i found there distances change through play throughs (just bought on steam but 1-mil+ rep on console)
