There are 20 achievements in The Frostrune, just over half of these can be achieved from a single playthrough of the game.

By finishing the game from start to finish you will be granted these achievements roughly in this order.

Ullr

Hymir

Dvergr

Andrimner

Heid

Aegirs gastir

Vafþrúðnir

Hel's gastir

Damn Breaker

Menglöð

Heimdal

Bandrún

Blood worm

Special Achievements

The Viking names and descriptions of the achievements make it a little tricky to deduce the criteria for each of them.

Iðavöllr

Finish the game and watch the ending cutscene and credits till the end without skipping.

Ratatosk

Near the end of the game, use the Hel Staff, and in this order click on the horse in the tree, the goat in the temple and the whale on the beach.

Volve

It appears, if you use your Hel Staff, and click on all the dead people in the game, you will be granted this achievement. The seer, the guy down the hole, anyone frozen, plus the horse skull beside the crate too(where you used the spade), click on them all.

Litet-vis maðr

Go to the beach and spam click around the dead whale.

Brokkr

In the foundry, use an object (statue/pick axe) and spam click on the fire and pouring bucket. After some time, you will be awarded the achievement. Note it is unclear exactly which objects can be used for this achievement, there may be others that work.

Sleipnr

This is a speed run achievement. Finish the game in under 35 minutes. Alt tabbing can be used as a method of pausing the game and will not add on to your time.

Viking

Play an entire game without using the hints (like a true Viking would)

only two questions about sleipnr (speedrun), esc doesnt work (really alt tab)? and is it a single segment run, or can i save and exit the game?

If anyone's still confused about Ratatosk and Volve - immediately after getting the Hel Staff, I used it on the following stuff (in this order):
- the frozen man with the key
- the horse skin
- the dead man in the pit
- the dead whale
- the horse skull
- the frozen man in the open grave
- the goat head in the temple
...which unlocked Ratatosk.

Then I used it on the Seer's body in the temple.
...and Volve unlocked too.

Sleipnr unlocks at the start of the credits, so if you don't get it then you'll know you were too slow.

31:18 wasnt enough for speedrun, 27:25 was enough 2 tries later, between that 2 tries i had one when i forgot to loot up the clay and panicked, wasnt able to remember where it was so restarted, so it should be 30mins. As i was recording it these times arent just random guesses, these are exact times.

Sleipnr speed run is definitely around 30 mins or so. I am not able to verify exactly the limit for the achievement, but aim to do it as fast as possible and use alt tab to stop the clock for you.

BTW: Ratatoskr didn't activate for me doing it like this guide says, I had to click on the horse skull too. I used this order: horse skin on the tree, horse skull on the grave, goat on the temple and whale. (I didn't click on anything else between them just in case, but I'm not sure if you can).

IMPORTANT

: For those speedrunning, I found that you can't solve the horse and wolf stone puzzles if you haven't looked at the hints for them beforehand. Even if you put the correct answer they won't solve, so you'd had to go back to see the answers and put the solution again.

For the speedrun I haven't found how to skip the Seer's dialogue or the songs. But you can skip some other things: some of the forest spirit's lines (in some cases you don't even need to interact with it), you can skip the raven's dialogue after finding them on the top of the mountain and you don't need to listen to all the dialogue during the raven's stone questionaire, it changes immediately after you select the correct answer.

You can also cut some seconds using a shortcut: clicking on the right of the foundry and the left of the longhouse connects those two screens (so you don't have to go to the village screen if you don't need to). I also cut some seconds by clicking other things while some animations were playing, like the triangle slabs in the underwater chest or the warriors from the horse stone.

Excellent guide. Quick question (pun not intended): is there a way to skip the Seer's dialogue to shorten time for the speedrun achievement?
