Intro
ScummVM is a program made to play the old LucasArts adventure games with newer operating systems, but it also supports many other classic games. Today I'm going to show you how to set it up with Myst.

Before starting, please install your copy of Myst in the Steam library folder.
Installing
First download[www.scummvm.org] and install the ScummVM engine. The engine is compatible with a wide variety of operating systems and other platforms, such as the PS Vita and SEGA Dreamcast.

Once ScummVM is installed, open the program and select "Add Game. Then find the folder containing your Steam library. Select your Myst install folder and click "Choose."

Now, double click on Myst: Masterpiece Edition on the game list.

While in game, press F5 to access the menu.

Enjoy!

@2FianBoards This guide is somewhat obsolete since Cyan Worlds updated the game for Steam. The older steam version (and, by extension, the boxed copy) had an issue due to Quicktime not being always installed on modern PCs.

What are the issues with Myst on newer operating systems?

is there any workaround for linux users? Steam doesn't allow the install unless you're running Mac of Windows; so nothing to point to in ScummVM :/
Thanks for sharing this guide tho!

I really care about having games count my hours. I just changed some settings in the config files to make my game not look so washed out. Filtering always needs to be turned off, it's repulsive looking.

@ryan_ Dunno if there's some crazy hack you could do, but I'd just add ScummVM as a non-steam game.
