Improvements for Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
By Joshhhuaaa and 1 collaborators
This guide will show you how to improve your experience in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and optimize it for modern computers.

Ubisoft discontinued the servers for Pandora Tomorrow in December 2006. However, the multiplayer is still playable when using virtual LAN applications.

Solo Mode Download
Downloads:
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (Solo Mode) [875 MB] - dgVoodoo2 lighting fix applied, ThirteenAG Widescreen Fix, disabled mouse acceleration, localization fixes.[drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
After downloading, extract the contents, and you should have a Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder. You can place it anywhere you like, it's portable.

In order to play the game, open the Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder > System folder > SplinterCell2.exe is the executable to start up the game.
Widescreen Support and Shadow Buffers
Downloads:
ThirteenAG Widescreen Fix with dgVoodoo2 included[drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy content of archive to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder.

You may configure additional settings from:
offline \ system \ scripts \ SplinterCellPandoraTomorrow.WidescreenFix.ini
[MAIN] ResX = 0 ResY = 0 ForceShadowBufferMode = 1 // Use with d3d8 wrapper that comes with this fix or any other that fixes the issue. FMVWidescreenMode = 1 // Cutscenes and movies will be fullscreen. HudWidescreenMode = 1 // Makes certain hud elements offset to screen edges. OpsatWidescreenMode = 0 // Makes opsat overlay widescreen by stretching it's center part. WidescreenHudOffset = 140.0 // This is the default offset for 16:9. For lower aspect ratios adjusted automatically, for higher you may change it manually. PostProcessFixedScale = 1 // Game uses 512 by default. Increasing the value makes night vision mode render in higher resolution. If set to 1, ResX will be used instead.
Disabling Mouse Acceleration
Mouse acceleration is enabled by default in first person camera modes with the weapon drawn.

Downloads:
ESettings.ini (useAimTuning disabled) [drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy configuration file to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow \ offline \ system folder.

Note: Disabling mouse acceleration will not affect Auto Saves and Quick Saves created before making this change.
Textures
The PlayStation 3 HD textures originally caused issues with shadows not rendering properly through alpha textures. I’ve recently rebuilt them to fix this problem. However, some of Ubisoft's replacement textures deviate from the original design instead of just increasing resolution.

Downloads:
PC Original Textures [drive.usercontent.google.com]
PlayStation 3 HD Textures[drive.usercontent.google.com]

How To:
Copy content of archive to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow folder.

If you would like to keep the default HUD with PS3 HD Textures, do not replace HUDPC.utx.

Comparisons:

Frame Rate
Pandora Tomorrow was developed with a target frame rate of 30 frames per second. Exceeding this frame rate can cause problems with AI pathing, physics, and other elements that are dependent on frame rate. To minimize these issues, it is recommended to cap the frame rate at 60 FPS, even when using a high refresh rate monitor.

By default, Pandora Tomorrow allows for a maximum frame rate of 200 frames per second, often leading to significant issues.

How To:
There are many programs to use to lock your game at 60 frames per second. Both NVIDIA Control Panel and AMD Radeon Settings have an option to lock the frame rate for a particular game.

As an alternative, we also can recommend using the latest version of NVIDIA Profile Inspector [github.com] (for NVIDIA graphics cards only), or using MSI Afterburner.[download.msi.com]
Versus Mode Download
If this is your first time wanting to play the Versus modes for the Splinter Cell games, it is highly recommend checking out Enhanced SCCT Versus[github.com] instead in the Chaos Theory guide. SCPT Versus is often considered obsolete as SCCT Versus nearly improves every aspect of it and includes all SCPT Versus maps.

Enhanced SCPT Versus[github.com] is a major patch I have created to fix bugs and exploits while improving gameplay.

Downloads:
Enhanced SCPT Versus v1.3[github.com]

How To:
After downloading the game, extract the contents, and you should have an Enhanced SCPT Versus 1.3 folder. You can place it anywhere you like, it's portable.

In order to play the game, run the command script, "Play SCPT Versus".
Mouse Polling Rate
Currently, many mice come with polling rates that can reach 1000 Hz or higher. However, in Pandora Tomorrow, higher polling rates may cause issues with your mouse aim. If your mouse allows it, try setting the polling rate to 125 Hz through software. This issue also applies to all games in the series, from the original Splinter Cell to Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It is possibly related to the use of the Unreal Engine 2.

Well, cutscenes are always viewable elsewhere, so let's keep going and see how PT plays, coming off of the great QoL improvements from Enhanced SC. I even managed to play that game at 200fps with no game breaking bugs (even the guard that supposedly kills himself on a mine at high framerates didn't do it on my playthrough!).

...Oof, the mouse feels janky as all hell. I played with 1000Hz polling in Enhanced SC with no problems, but here it just flies uncontrollably. Had to reduce it to 125.

I don't think it's related to 4K resolution or dgVoodoo2, Pandora Tomorrow's cutscenes seem to crash for certain PCs recently, I'm not sure if anyone knows why but all the other games are fine.

Huh, looks like the cutscenes still crash when playing at 4K.
I even tried getting cheeky and setting VRAM in the dgvoodoo config file to 1024, but that didn't help

Definitely use dgVoodoo2 instead. That has been outdated for almost 10 years now and never fully fixed the rendering.

Hi all!

If anyone experiences glitches in the main menu and bright textures instead of shadows in the game, I can only recommend to use the D3D8.dll fromhttps://www.jiri-dvorak.cz/scellpt/ .

Worked for me :)

Does anyone have the camera too zoomed in? It's almost like I'm playing in first person. I've installed ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix.
