The Cat Games comprises of three main mini-games, and a plethora of "Easter eggs", there are a total of 16 Steam achievements, one of which (Verified Achievement) is potentially missable. It might not be, but as far as I can see the only opportunity to earn it is the very first time you start the game.

If you do happen to miss it and it does turn out to be missable, just mop up all the other achievements, and then wipe your save file from your HDD/SSD and then load the game up and this should solve your problems.

Dogs or Cats?

The first time you load The Cat Games, you are first prompted to select a language (English or Simplified Chinese), the game then asks you "which animal is more graceful" with pictures shown below of a dog on the left and a cat on the right.

To earn this achievement you must select the cat. Be aware that if you do not do this the first time you load the game, I do not know where exactly you stand, you may well have to wipe your save file to try again.

Schroedinger's Cat
Alive and dead.

To earn the Schroedinger's Cat achievement, simply go into "Options" from the Main Menu and turn "Advanced Cat Physics" on and the achievement will pop.

I have to admit, I have no idea what the Advanced Cat Physics setting actually does, other than earning you this achievement, it appears to do nothing.

Hardcore
What gamers want.

On the games main menu, in the bottom centre of the screen is a table with a computer monitor sat on top (and depending on which other achievements you have already unlocked possibly a cat sat in front of the monitor). Just above this table is a large green "sponsored by catfood for gamers" sign, simply lick on this with your LMB and the achievement is yours.

Ghost Cat
Spooky.

For this achievement you must play the mini-game "Cat Breed Billiards".

In this game you play billiards, the twist is the balls you have to pot have pictures of different breeds of cat on them and the aim is to pot the specified breed of cat. Every once in a while however, a picture of a ghost cat, raccoon or an owl might appear in place of a cat's face on one of the balls.

To earn this achievement you have to pot a ball with a ghost cat on it, note the ghost cat is hard to miss as the ball frequently phases (shifts position for a brief moment).

Floating Cat
Sleeping Beauty.

On the left hand side of the main menu there are three buttons, with one for each of the main mini-games (Indoor Racing, Swim Challenge and Cat Breed Billiards), directly below, these is a much larger button with a picture of three cats standing on a podium.

Clicking this button takes you to a page showing your top 10 high scores for each of the main mini-games and in the bottom left hand corner, sits a white cat. Click on this cat and it will levitate in the air and the Floating Cat achievement will pop at the same time.

Kopi Luwak
Drink it when it's hot.

To earn this achievement, from the main menu click on the options button and turn the "Hot Coffee" option on (it's just above the "Advanced Cat Physics" button), then return to the main menu and simply click on the cat face caricature mug next to the monitor on the table in the middle of the screen. After turning on the "Hot Coffee" option steam will now be visible coming from the mug and as soon as you click on the mug the achievement is earned.

From the main menu, click on the computer monitor sitting on the desk in the middle of the screen, you will then be presented with a blue screen (I presume to be the computer monitor) with multiple tabs at the top and eight dash marks in the middle, with the first flashing (that sort of looks like a game of hangman but I presume is a login screen).

Type ENIGMEOW, no need to hit enter, and the achievemnt will pop.

Birdwatching
Catch 9 birds in your imagination.

At the games main menu, you will see an armchair on the right with a window just above, click on the window to be presented with a view outside. This is one of The Cat Games hidden mini-games that involves trying to catch birds (obviously the glass prevents the act from ever taking place), intermittently birds will appear from the foliage at the bottom of the screen and will fly upwards in a slightly erratic pattern, your aim is to pounce on them (and thus theoretically catch them).

Be aware that when you click with the LMB to try and catch a bird, the cat you control does not just teleport to where you clicked, you have to account for the time it takes for the cat to jump to the point you clicked, as such you have to lead your target by clicking in front of it. Also, be aware that as I noted earlier the flight path of the birds is rarely in a straight line, they frequently jink to one side which can cause a perfectly aimed and time pounce to miss.

If you get 9/9 perfect hits in a row without missing or any birds escaping I salute you.

Dreams
Pursue them.

At the main menu click on the armchair and you will be presented with a sleeping cat in the centre of the screen and three sets of rotating icons circling the cat. To earn the achievement you must first click on the cat, then on the innermost ring (closest to the cat), click on the butterfly, on the middle ring click on the set of three red fish and on the outer ring (furthest from the cat) click on the red paw.

Note that the rings circumference or orbit is larger than that of your monitor or rather what is displayed, as such not all of the icons on the rings are always visible, so if you do not initially see the icons that you have to click on just wait and they will eventually come into view on your monitor, I assure you.

Blub Blub
Wake up the golden giant.

During the "Indoor Racing" mini-game there are various obstacles (mostly items of furniture) which if you run into them will end your game, one type of obstacle is a water cooler (a thin white tower with a large plastic bottle on the top). Your aim for this achievement is to run into a water cooler that has a large goldfish sitting in the bottle on top.

Catch 6 balloons.

When playing one of the three main mini-games (Indoor Racing, Swim Challenge and Cat Breed Billiards) should you beat one of your previous high scores at the end of the game you will be taken to a high score table and a balloon will float up from the bottom of the screen. To earn this achievement you must click on 6 of these balloons.

The easiest way to earn this achievement is simply to play one of the main mini-games very poorly and then in your next five attempts, slightly improve upon your score.

If you somehow managed to fluke high scores which you later struggle or find impossible to beat, the dev kindly posted a solution which will still allow you to obtain this achievement...

Debugging
Catch 3 bugs.

Easily the most annoying achievement, at least if you are not aware of how it is earned when you first start playing The Cat Games. Randomly whenever you start or finish one of the three main mini-games (Indoor Racing, Swim Challenge or Cat Breed Billiards) the screen turns red and a black bug crawls across the screen. When this happens, you have to very quickly pounce on the bug to catch it.

As with the Birdwatching achievement you have to lead the mouse cursor slightly in front of the bug as the cat does take time to travel to target, it is not instantaneous. Also the bug's path of travel is far more erratic than the bird's flight path making trying to catch a bug a matter of 50% skill and 50% luck.

As for how often the opportunity to catch a bug arises, it is entirely random, one time it occurred once in 30 games, another time it happened at the beginning of a mini-game and then again at the end of the same mini-game.

If you happen to mop up all other achievements before obtain this one and you just want to get this achievement out of the way you can just start, quit, start, quit etc, etc without actually playing the game to force the bug catching game, if you do just make sure to pace yourself as you do it so as not to accidently miss an opportunity when it arises.
