When launching the game from the windowed launcher, Sniper Elite III will boot up and proptly crash at the loading screen, re-boot, and continue until manually closing it. Some users report that their screens go black after hitting "Play" on the launcher. Regardless, the game will not load due to various compatability reasons. However, there are methods to fix these issues.

Solution #1
Verfiy the game's integrity. A very easy fix (if it works) is to verify that all the files downloaded correctly. to do that, right click on the game in your library and select "Properties", then "Local Files" and select "Verfiy Integrity of Game Files".

Change the game's compatIbility. To do that, right click on the game in your library and select "Properties", then "Local Files" and select "Browse Local Files". Under the "Launcher" folder, right-click the .exe file and select 'Properties". Change the compatibility mode to either Windows 8 or Windows 7 and apply the changes and re-launch.

Close Steam completely, go to your games directory file, which is typically:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\[Game Name]\

• Delete "steam_api.dll"
  
• Delete "Sniper3Launcher.exe"
