Foreword
Here are some fun build ideas to try out while you play the game. Please note that these are not super optimal min/max type of builds and there may be far more optimal ones that suit your playstyle better. However, these are interesting and play into the character's inherent strengths and try and minimize their downsides.

There will be numerous spoilers throughout the document, in terms of both the things you can learn as well as things that will happen. This is your only warning, this guide WILL spoil some of the surprises, so if you want to experiment and discover things on your own, you should stop reading this guide now.

For all others, let's get started!
T

Immortal damage dealer

Pros

  • Nearly indestructible, very few special bosses pose threat
  • Can literally solo entire boss fights late game

Cons

  • Damage from magic is very limited in favor of sustain
  • No good AOE attacks until very late into the game when you unlock Doombringer

  • Agility

Important skills

  • Hyper regeneration
  • Super Fake Self
  • Fire Breath

Useful skills

  • Moneyshot
  • Strong Scales

TP mode

  • Warrior

Description

This build makes best use of T's regenerative abilities, therefore you should take hyper regeneration when you have the points. Because T already has a high defense and spirit, the extra hp means he may literally outregen the damage of enemies.

Focusing on Attack makes best use of Super Fake Self. You should also use Fire Breath to try and apply the DOT. Super Fake Self is the most important skill in T's arsenal and should be unlocked as soon as possible, no matter what build you are going for.

Agility is a very important stat as it affects CRIT and later in the game, ensures T is able to kill enemies before they are able to hit any teammate.

If against a boss monster, Moneyshot is used to debuff the enemy after opening the fight with a Super Fake Self.

Strong Scales helps in case there's a huge burst damage boss (Such as, Fairy of Nightmares and Agony) to help survive. Do not underestimate the power of -5% of all damage sources as this also applies to criticals and every other damage source in game.
Jessie

Late game buffer powerhouse

Pros

  • Amazing damage late game
  • Begins to shine mid game already

Cons

  • Very RNG dependant
  • Almost completely ignores magic potential

Description

This build takes full advantage on Jessie's amazing agility and luck growths. To compensate for her lackluster basic damage, you should focus on building her attack stats. Giving her Slayer Sword helps with her damage. Jessie struggles early game due to her poor attack and it's very important to make use of all possible boosts to increase her damage that you can do. In fact, Jessie should be the first person who's weapon you upgrade. Because her natural good growths in agi and luck, Jessie will begin to crit quite often and thus high base damage allows her to become far more relevant damage wise.

To help with Jessie's poor early game, Adrenaline is very much recommended as it allows her to either increase her own damage or buff someone else. Deathblow is a stable move for Jessie and allows her to get rid of trash mobs and apply extra damage when she has her buffs up.

It's really important that you learn to use Solitude of Spirit and how it behaves when she learns this spell. Because late game bosses and monsters cause AOE damage, this means that you are guranteed to proc Solitude of Spirit multiple times and thus also blessing your party members. This makes Solitude of Spirit the absolute best buff late game and is the best way to guarantee blessings to your party.

Jessie has decent mp gains and you don't need to invest into more as she'll mostly just spam solitude of spirit late game. Because SoS is not wisdom dependant, you don't need to invest pointst into it.
Sanefang

Brutal bruiser

Pros

  • Decent damage
  • Most of his specials bypass enemy's armor
  • Quite tanky

Cons

  • Aside Tiger Dance, you can only use his skills few times per battle
  • Tiger Dance costs 100 TP
  • Magic murders him

Primary Stats

  • Luck
  • Agility

Dump Stat

  • Attack

Important Skills

  • Metah Kick
  • Jab Attack
  • Tiger Dance

Useful Skills

  • Smelly Surprise

TP mode

Warrior

Description

Sanefang already has a very high base damage, so this build seeks to maximize his potential for criticals to amplify that damage. Because his abilities can also crit, this can lead to an insane ammount of damage late game.

Sanefang's biggest problem is that nearly all his moves have limited number of uses per battle and afterwards, he can only basic attack foes. The only skill he learns naturally that he can use often is Tiger Dance, however this move is very costly. You may need to invest into a lot of boosters if you intend to use Tiger Dance multiple times per combat.

To help with Sanefangs limited move pool, he is a good contender for special move books. Smelly Surprise works really well on him, because the DOT that the enemy gets from it is based on the attack of the user.
Rosa

Over 9000 damage per turn

Pros

  • Highest burst damage aside special characters and Doombringer T
  • Massive AOE damage

Cons

  • Very lategame focus, will only truly shine after her Ultimate is unlocked
  • After the effects of ultimate wears off, she will be at disadvantage

Primary stats

  • Wisdom
  • Agility

Dump stat

  • Luck

Important skills

  • Summon Lady of Ice
  • Summon Ignis
  • Tsunami

Useful skills

  • Enhance Spell

TP mode

  • Warrior

Description

This is a classic glass cannon build. Agility is invested as it helps with her survivability by evading attacks and it helps her attack before enemy attacks her. Enchance Spell can be used to buff her or allies before she learns her Ultimate. Luck is a good dump stat as magic can crit too.

Contrary to what others may think, I don't invest into Max Mana at all with her. The reason is, her role is pretty much a nuker and shines late game. At end game bosses, you basically cast her ultimate and then both summon spells and Tsunami to deal at least 70 000 damage and then switch her with another character. This is why mana is only relevant to her at the start, as after her ultimate stance wears off, she will not be able to nuke enemies as hard and therefore, is not at risk of running out of mana.
Shelah

Start strong, get stronger

Pros

  • Nice power curve throughout game
  • Never truly weak

Cons

  • Her Ultimate will literally destroy your weapons when using it
  • Poor accuracy

Primary Stats

  • Luck
  • Agility

Dump Stat

  • Attack

Important Skils

  • Focused Strike
  • Cleave
  • Sixth Sense
  • Meta-Human's Rage

Useful Skills

  • Smelly Surprise
  • Triple Attack
  • Sturdiness

TP Mode

Warrior

Description

Shelah is a very powerful character who remains relevant whole game. Focused Strike is a must for Shelah as especially at the start of the game, her accuracy is the lowest in the entire game. Because of her low accuracy, you want to invest into anything that increases accuracy, as well as agility and luck. Cleave is used to take down multiple foes. Smelly surprise can be good skill to teach Shelah, as her high attack means that the gross out state deals decent damage over time. Tripple attack is a good early game move to use at start of the adventures when you have the TP to spare.

Sixth Sense is really good for Shelah, as she has a high chance of countering and this allows her to counter even magic. Shelah's counter is incredibly devastating and will actually deal far more damage than her basic attack, which is why you want to ensure it'll proc as often as possible.

Sturdiness is incredibly powerful passive which prevents her from being one shot, as the damage is delayed and dealt to her over several turns instead of instant. This allows her to be healed to save her from a potential death if enemy were to burst her. It also helps with managing her berserker state.

When Shelah consumes Meta-Human Elixir late game, she becomes vastly more powerful and learns new passive and new Special Move which changes her playstyle entirely. With Power UP if she is above 80 TP, she gains massive attack boost. Her ultimate, Meta-Human's rage may not seem worth it due to losing the Power UP however, it is tremendously powerful move. Be sure to buy multiple weapons for Shelah as Meta-Human's rage is so powerful that it literally breaks her weapons.

When late game with Power UP you should make sure Shelah is above 80 TP at all times and use Meta-Human's Rage when at 100 TP. Using lots of boosters is very much recommended to improve her DPS and maximizing Power UP.
Jill

Trick shots for days

Pros

  • High consistant damage
  • Damage can be dealt to everyone with the best bow, which instead of arrows shoots tornadoes

Cons

  • Requires Jill to deal the killing blow
  • Requires massive investment from as soon as you get her, until the very end final boss
  • If neglected at early levels when Jill joins the party, she will never reach her full potential unless you grind literally days

Primary stats

  • Luck
  • Agility

Dump stat

  • Attack

Important skills

  • Trick Shot

Useful skills

  • Armor Piercer

TP mode

  • Warrior

Description

This is the hardest build to achieve in the entire game, as it requires a ton of preparation and some luck but it's insanely rewarding with giant DPS that puts Susan Cole and Rosa to shame. You need to unlock Trick Shot as soon as you get Jill. Next, you must feed her the kills, which is very hard and it only gets harder if you don't begin investing into it as soon as possible. To help with this, start at very early levels of Trick Shot by using Armor Piercer to debuff the enemy's DEF when Trick Shot is weak. After activating Trick Shot, you can then basic attack to proc it.

If the enemy dies from Trick Shot, Trick Shot's damage is permanently increased. There is no upper limit to how high the damage increase gets. This move will become your main damage ability at the end of the game, if you've invested into it but if you've already began to play, it will take you literal hours of grinding to try and level it up.

To help with Trick Shot, focus heavily into Luck and Agility. Trick Shot CAN crit and the AGi is super important so that you can hit an enemy before they hit an ally, who may kill the enemy by counterattacking!

Jill is the most difficult character to get "right" and Trick Shot is a skill that if it's not invested into, will fall completely off the game. Don't go insane trying to grind Trick Shot at late game to make up for not having started early, it will never become good enough to make up for the bad start. In this case, you are better off using Susan Cole or Doam instead.
Belladona

Dedicated Healer

Pros

  • Good scaling heals
  • Only character who can ressurect people
  • Numerous useful utility skills

Cons

  • Weaker Wisdom than Rosa means she'll not deal as much magic damage
  • Requires a ton of skillbooks to open up her numerous skills
  • Worst evasion skills of the entire game, she is almost guaranteed to always take all the damage enemy dishes out on her

Primary Stats

  • Wisdom
  • Agility

Dump Stat

  • Max MP

Important Skills

  • Super Wonderful
  • Meteor
  • Summon Glamour

Useful Skills

  • Virtue ritual
  • Blessing of Inversion
  • Invigorate
  • Stone Bomb

TP mode

Healer or Comrade.

Description

Belladona already has decent luck and doesn't need to invest much into it. Wisdom is very important stat for Belladona as it helps with both her healing and her damage. Unlike Jessie who has flat healing, Belladona's healings scale with her Wisdom which is why all Wisdom related equipment is good for her. Max MP is good dump stat for her, as she needs to cast many spells and many of the spells have very high Mana costs.

Summon Glamour is one time summon that revives everyone, restores all their health and also blesses them. This amazing spell is a literal life saver and shouldn't be underestimated.

Meteor is a good skill as it allows Belladona to use her built up TP to deal some damage too.

Virtue Ritual is very good move to help buff the whole party during boss battles.

Super Wonderful will be your panic heal spell that heals everyone. Despite the fact that you can only use it 5 times per battle, it restores so much HP that you shouldn't need to use it 5 times unless you're really losing a lot or facing super boss. In case she runs out of Super wonderful charges, it's recommended to have additional healing spell such as Healing Hug to help continue healing.

Invigorate allows her to revive party members, if you don't want to use Summon Glamour or it has already been used.

Stone Bomb is a decent damage spell that she can use as a filler spell when she doesn't need to buff or heal anyone.

Finally, Blessing of Inversion is a really good spell to teach Belladona. Even though anyone who can cast magic can learn it, the whole nature of the Blessing suits her playstyle quite nicely.
Doam
You get crits, she gets crits, everyone gets crits

Pros

  • Best criticals of the entire game
  • Can scan enemy's stats and weaknesses and show boss HP's
  • With his ultimate, he can guarantee everyone criticals against one enemy
  • Criticals have extremely high chance of connecting thanks to his many passives and skills

Cons

  • Joins very late
  • All his stats are just average
  • He lacks damaging skills
  • Despite the increased likeliness of them ocuring, he relies almost entirely on criticals for all his damage

Primary Stats

  • Attack
  • Agility

Dump Stat

  • Max HP

Important Skills

  • Expose Weakness
  • Critical Mastery

Useful Skills

  • Crits for Days

TP Mode

Tactician if utilizing Vega's Spear, Warrior otherwise

Description

Doam is the last character to join the game (unless you missed out Susan earlier and not counting the special super character) and he has pretty much average or above average stats all across the board. Even though he already has a good agility and luck, adding more agility ensures that he can evade and counter far more often. Attack is of course, a great boon for Doam as he gets criticals often and more attack means stronger crits. HP is a good dump stat for him as it helps with his somewhat limited survivability.

Critical Mastery is very important to Doam as it allows his often hitting criticals to hit twice as hard. This makes his criticals the strongest of the entire game, regardless of his attack.

Due to the nature of Doam, you are almost guaranteed to get criticals with him and thus agility and luck are not nearly as important to him as to many others. Doam's ultimate is really great, because it works on the enemy rather than himself, meaning that you can use the Expose Weakness, tag him out and have someone like Rosa deal giant guaranteed burst damage! This and the ability of scaning enemies HP, Stats and such makes Doam a great setup character as well.

If you use Vega's spear, it guarantees criticals to him if it hits poisoned enemies which happens very often as it has high chance of poisoning enemies too. Sadly, some enemies are immune to the poison which limits the "guaranteed crits" factor.

To help against enemies that are immune to poison, consider getting Crits for Days passive. This neat passive increases the crit chance depending on how much TP Doam has.

Compared to the other main damage dealers (Rosa, Jill, Susan Cole), Doam is clearly the one most focused stricly on criticals to get his damages. Make no mistake, the criticals are really strong and you'll hit them quite often but the character is still entirely RNG dependant if his crits proc or not because if they don't, his base damage is laughable.
Susan Cole

All or Nothing

Pros

  • Insane damage output
  • Mutation is very easy to manage to her favor

Cons

  • She is permanently zombiefied, healing magic HURTS her.
  • New Guns are missable and if her own guns break, she can't get new ones
  • Extremely frail defense

Primary stats

  • Agility
  • Attack

Dump Stat

  • Defense

Important Skills

  • Triple Shot

Useful Skills

  • Against The Odds
  • Smelly Surprise

TP mode

Warrior

Descriptio

Susan Cole is the optional character who you can get from the Boulderscar, your first chance of meeting her is when you play T's scenario on Earth. She has the highest base damage when using the guns due to he Gun Slinger passive skill. When compared her as a DPS to other physical DPS like Jill who's reliant on skills and to Doam who relies on crits, Susan Cole relies on nothing whatsoever for her damage to excel. Just plain basic attacks will yield mighty results.

First of all, Susan Cole already has decent agility but you want to make sure that her agility is as high as it can be to ensure she attacks before enemy attacks her. This is vitally important, because if Susan begins to soak up damage, her mutation may start to work against her. To help with Mutation management, use Triple Shot when avaiable. Attack is a really good stat for Susan Cole as it helps her deal even more damage and end fights faster before she requires healing. Defense is a good dump stat as she has abyssmally low defense and spirit. Spirit is also a good investment for her. Her luck is already relatively high and doesn't need much focus, her other areas need more attention first.

Susan Cole is a risky character to use, her damage is amazing but the fact that she cannot be healed by healing magic (skills such as first aid or items still work) and combined with her abyssmally low defense and spirit makes it really easy to die with her. The fact that mutation requires her to remain aggressive and in control means she can't waste many turns healing herself either.

You should always use guns on Susan Cole because the damage is many times higher when she uses them, even if the attack stat is seemingly "lower" due to the GunSlinger pasive it'll be guaranteed to deal more damage. Crazed gun is particulary good on her as it allows her to shoot numerous foes at the same time and helps build up her Mutation into positive direction.

Zombie Bite is also a really useful skill, as it allows you to zombify enemies while also healing herself. No enemy currently can be cured of the zombie state if they become zombies, meaning enemies who heal will actually cause damage on their allies.

Finally, Smelly Surprise is a good move to teach Susan Cole due to her high attack and if you want to deal DOT damage and haven't already found someone to use it.

When you first get Susan Cole, she is seemingly all powerful however the zombie state and the low defenses really come to bite you later, especially on long bosses or extreme damage dealers like the Titans. This makes her particulary tough character to play as, however if you can undertake the risks, the payoffs are huge too.
