Firstly, set your distance to 60 in settings in the escape menu if you haven't already, it's a completely different world there and it helps immensely with game sense. A good starting angle to go with that is around 55, but I play at 40/60 so that's all down to personal preference ultimately.

Now hop into practice mode. Then, just lift your stick over the puck in the middle and back again, like so. Press R to reset if you mess up. (Sry for potato quality & force ghosts)


Once you've got that down, you can start slowly moving the puck left and right lifting your stick to keep control.

Now try utilising your boost whilst keeping control of the puck. This is the hard bit, and don't get discouraged if at first the puck just flies off your stick - This section took me about 5 minutes of attempts to compile good examples. It's what makes a deke potent, and takes a bit of practice to get down semi-consistently.

Note: Dashing on your backhand is generally easier than dashing on your forehand as you have a little "pocket" between the stick and your body, so try that first if you're struggling.


Once you've got that down, as you can see there, instead of taking control of the puck after dashing, you can engineer a shot. Here are some better examples of that.

And that's it. This is only the basic deke, and there are many more ways to get past your opponents like wraparounds, 360s and even fakes which my teammates are way better than me at, as I'm more of a passing guy. But I hope this helped with getting started with your dangles.
