It's also worth noting, that the most lucrative secret area in the game, in world 3, is only accessible if one of the player characters has a thrown bomb type special. It took me years to figure this out since during my childhood, my friend and I only ever played with our favourite combo, Gentleman + Preacher.
It's possible to get so much health, lives and weapon power ups as Navvie or Thug that no skill is required for the final boss, just stand still and shoot the baron in the face. He will die before you run out of lives.
It's way more fun to run around the outside of the area with maximum speed upgrades as the gentleman and not take any damage at all though.
I've played this game way too much.
