But today I'm going to show you how install them into your game anyway.

Information Overview
This guide will show you a very simple way to install any kind of a mod into your game.
I'm using my SSD disk for modding, since these mods require fast disk reading speed.
You can use normal HDD as well. If your disk reading speed is slow: Lags will happen.
Lags can cause desync in cutscenes or overall slow loading times and or slowmotion.
Most computers in todays day and age won't experience any of those issues: Hurray.
The LEGO Games from Traveller's Tales are all using basically the very same engine.
And that means one simple thing: You can put mods into all of them with a simple trick.
We can thank the guys behind the QuickBMS tool and the .DAT files extractor for that.
If you have some mods of your own, you can post them in the comments of this guide.
I'm sure that there's a lot of fans around here who would love to see some new mods.
I will be showing you how to install a cool mod from a guy named 'Tiny Tsu Sandwich'.
The mod is called 'Lego Harry Potter 5-8 DLC Mod' and it will add 10 dlc characters.
Those new characters we're previously released exclusively for the console players.

List of new characters that you will receive by following this guide:
Godric Gryffindor
Helga Hufflepuff
Rowena Ravenclaw
Salazar Slytherin
Hermione (Pink Dress)
Luna (Lion Head)
Harry (Yule Ball)
Lockhart (Straitjacket)
Peeves (Ghost)
Ron Weasley (Ghoul)
Step 1: Preparation
1.Crate a backup of your entire game folder. It's always better to have the backup.
Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7
2.Download the QuickBMS and the TTGames Script from their official page.
The link to their official page is: http://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm (Version 0.9.2) or this:
The link for the backup website: http://aluigi.zenhax.com/quickbms.htm (Version 0.9.2) or this:
https://web.archive.org/web/20190127023959/https://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/quickbms.zip
3.Put the downloaded stuff into a new folder and then open the quickbms.exe
After it's opened, it will want a BMS script from you, just select the ttgames.bms
Step 2: Extraction
1.After you have inserted the ttgames.bms, It will now want the archive, select this one:
GAME.DAT in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7
2.Now it will ask you to select the output folder. Extract it directly into your game folder.
Select this one: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7
3.Wait until it's finished and then repeat the same process for the remaining nine files.
All of the .dat files must be extracted: Starting from the GAME0.dat up to the GAME8.dat.
4.If you see the error messege from the picture below, then follow these instructions:
It's simple, just press the "A" key on your keyboard and then press the "ENTER" key.
5.Delete all of the following files from your game folder in order to proceed:
Now delete those ten .dat files from the main game directory as well as the __DISC__ file.
6.You also need to delete the CHARTXT.FPK file from the CHARS folder, so do it.
After you deleted it: You can go ahead and download the mod that you want to use.
Step 3: Modding
1.Download the 'Harry Potter 5-8 DLC Mod' from the following website:
https://modworkshop.net/mod/33?tab=downloads
2.Open the downloaded archive and extract the new files into your game folder.
Just put the files from the chars folder into your chars folder and that is literally everything.
3.Everything should be now done and you should now try to play your game.
If it doesn't work, repeat the steps of this guide and use your backup game files.
Thanks For Reading
If you run into some kind of a problem, perhaps you did forgot to extract all of the .dat files.
Or perhaps you have forgotten to delete all of the mentioned files: Please, double-check it.
If you've done everything correctly and still having a problem: Go ahead and post a comment.
I will try to help you out if I can. And others can do so as well. This guide is for troubleshooting.
If someone decides to update this mod or provide a different mod: I will inform you in this guide.
You can also post some mods of your own in the comments below, maybe I will put them in too.
These characters are from the console version of this game. This is the only way to have them.

Worked perfectly, thanks! Would have just bought the DLC if it was available, but ah well, at least I will have all the characters once I get to 100%.

In case anyone is wondering, I looked at the files and couldn't find the 5 spells from another DLC. It wasn't even in BOLTTYPES.txt. The only thing that could add them would be copying the files from a console version, if that's even possible.

I'm not sure about that Sabre3PL, I only ever messed with character mods.

Is there any way to add the spells dlc into the game?

If you cannot see 0.9.2 on provided sites, I found another backup site:
The 0.9.2 version: http://aluigi.zenhax.com/papers/quickbms_0.9.2.zip

@Dr. Malkav - Thanks for the info, I've updated the guide.

I really hope so! I was thinking there would be a way to add them into the mod using text lines, but that may not work. I wonder if the original mod creator is still active…

I've been wondering about that too, but never found a mod for it.
Perhaps someone skilled enough will make it happen someday.
