Detailed Stat explanations
By Omallis and 1 collaborators
After spending weeks searching for an in-depth explanation for the mechanics in this game, and seeing how many contradicting answers people have been giving, I decided to test it out myself and post that information here so it's readily available to spare anyone else from the same unfortunate fate.

Ok so long story short, I was really confused about what exactly each stat does in game, and the information is not made readily available. If you go into "Train Pilot" or "Enhance MS/MA" then it will give you a very basic explanation of what each stat affects. -HOWEVER- what it does not explain is how exactly it affects the mechanics. I personally was trying to understand if Charisma was ONLY used by whoever was in the Guest slot on a warship or if it increased that character's EXP gain overall even in Raid Groups.

I've seen people giving nonsensical answers like "Oh the stats don't matter you can just max everything by spending capital". Or "THE MELEE AND RANGED PILOT STATS ONLY INCREASE YOUR ACCURACY NOT DAMAGE!".

So let me clear this up right now: -YOUR PILOT STATS NOT ONLY INCREASE YOUR ACCURACY BUT DAMAGE AS WELL-
-CHARISMA DOES IN FACT INCREASE THAT PILOT'S OVERALL EXP GAIN REGARDLESS OF THEM BEING IN A WARSHIP'S GUEST SLOT OR IN A MS/MA IN A RAID GROUP-

I'll explain in detail, see it didn't make much sense at first because the game tells you that the later versions of Pilots are generally stronger, and when I compared Yzak and Dearka from Gundam SEED to their SEED DESTINY counterparts, I noticed that while their DESTINY counterpart's stats were definitely better, they also had a passive ability called "Hero" which increases their Charisma by +60. It seemed like a throwaway ability that just took up an ability slot if Charisma was only used in the Guest slot of a warship, since both of them are obviously better as pilots, it just seemed like such a waste of a slot. So that's what fueled my curiosity to better know how to manage my stats and pilots.

So here's what I did: I took two pilots (Rau le Creuset and Flay Allistar) both level 1 and put them both in a crappy lvl 1 Kapool for accurate test results. The Mission I tested this on was Gundam SEED's "The Land of Peace" stage. I used the exact same melee attack on the exact same type of enemy unit (DINN) after weakening it so it would die in the next attack. The Melee attack I used "Iron Nail" had a base value of 3000 damage.

Rau's pilot Melee stat was 200 and his Charisma was 80.
Flay's pilot Melee was 20 and her Charisma was 300 (I booster her Charisma from 210)

Rau did 4226 damage and gained 168 EXP (200 Melee stat+3000 base damage= 4226 total)

Flay had a much harder time landing a hit so it took multiple reloads but when she finally landed a hit she did 3139 damage and gained 210 EXP. (20 Melee stat+3000 base damage= 3239 total)

Edit: It's worth noting that the lvl 1 Kapool they used had a base attack stat of 180. So for example a more accurate formula for Rau would be (200 Pilot Melee+180 MS/MA Attack+3000 base ability damage=4226)

So in conclusion, you can see that pilot stats not only boost overall accuracy and EXP gain but also the amount of damage the corresponding attack types do. I'm sure there are people who can do math good enough to figure out the exact formulas based on this information. Hopefully this helps clear up any confusion and gives you a better idea of how the game mechanics work.

Dude that is so wonderful, I appreciate you! You're goddamn right about it being difficult and hard to understand at first! Honestly this is the first real guide I've ever written and this game was able to compel me to do that lol

I really enjoy this game and want others who are looking into a better experience to have more knowledge to help them along the way. The game is fairly difficult in the beginning if you don't have a good understanding of how things work and this guide is definitely helpful in that aspect

@Dr. Satan Bro thank you so much for contributing and sharing your knowledge and wisdom! That's really good stuff!

A big thing to take into consideration too is that there are characters who have an awakening stat of 0 that will not increase without buying points/skills into it. That being said, you need to be careful which units you put those characters into. As much as i love using Laffter and having her Pilot a gundam outside of the IBO universe, if she is in say the strike freedom and wants to use the dragoon funnels.... she will be next to useless with them without some major stat adjustments.

Something else to keep in mind is that character abilities like New Type not only don't take up ability slots, but they will stack with similar abilities of different names. So you can make someone have New Type, Cyber New type, and Coordinator abilities and their reaction/awakening stats will benefit greatly from it

@Argenblack: Not necessarily, Charisma just boosts your exp gain. It all depends on how you want to build your pilot. Evasion and Attack are always safe bets for putting your points into.

So based on this it sounds like Charisma is one of the best stats. Is that accurate?

| Could not have said that better, honestly. I definitely noticed there was a difference in
| Awaken skills when I increased specific stats related to their icon.

Good that more people have noticed this, thank you. This game is full of mistranslation.

You should also point out that the same rules go for Awaken attacks:
The damage formula seems something like Melee/Range + Mech Attack + Weapon Base damage (and some complex modifiers). The Awaken stat does not increase Awaken damage per se but it increases the Awaken Weapon Base Damage and therefore indirectly the damage – however, Awaken attacks are still influenced by Melee/Ranges stat.

And what I noticed too, is that the Command stat influences extra damage in Raid/Warship links.

Of course Skills like Sense, Marksmanship, Charisma, Command etc. are useless once you hit 999 – and some characters naturally hit this limit

Up to you, I'm just trying to do a grunt GM's work.

Yeah exactly man that's why I made this because there's so many contradicting answers. If you want I can make you a contributor on this guide
