It's easier to lie prone on a convenient rock and call something in without any camo than it is to walk around trying to spot something while wearing camo, especially at first when you can't really track.
I agree that whitetail missions aren't that great and, frankly, European rabbits should (now) be considered the introduction animal. They are by far the easiest to hunt and doing so doesn't require anything else than the single-shot shotgun and a convenient rock on which to perch.
It took a while but I figured that clearing a network of burrows nets about 200 - 300 gm$ and takes roughly the same amount of time as tracking/shooting one of anything else.
