basic base building
The main basics of building a base is of course, keeping your base safe. and the further you get into the game the harder that will be. the first step to base building are traps, walls, and short range defenses as well as sandbags/barricades for your troops to hide behind. My suggestion is to set them up in layers, the first layer being traps and barricades the second mg nests and so on so forth.
the next step are longer ranged defenses such as sniper towers or mortars. Snipers have a limited field of view which means you need to place them carefully, and as of recent they can no long fire over walls. snipers are at their best when they're in a target rich environment, if combined with carefully placed walls you can create deadly choke-points for your enemy. the next defenses are machine guns, these defenses can be a nasty surprise for your enemy's troops, the mg nest is at its best when its in a choke point, it is there that it can rip enemy solders apart at point blank range however its close range can be used against you. If an enemy commander uses the decoy ability he can get your mg or any other building or infantryman to shoot your own defenses or even your own troops, this needs to be taken into consideration when placing a machine gun, or any other building. the next defenses are AA-guns and mortars. Mortars fire a single shell at lvl 1, but can be upgraded to fire more than 6, at that point the mortar can hit your own defenses if the enemy is too close, it really is only meant for suppresive fire at higher levels, when you are placing a mortar its aoe will be displayed(where the shells have a possibility of hitting) the further away the circle is from the rest of your buildings the better. The AA-gun is exactly as described it shoots down enemy missiles, troop transports, and bombers that stray too close, however after firing it needs time to cool down and reload before firing again. the more you upgrade it the faster that cool down will be AA-guns cannot attack ground targets and are your most vulnerable structure. the last 2 things are infantry tents as well as HQ defenses. the infantry tents deploy infantry to help defend your base from simple riflemen to snipers to Rambo or mercs. Infantry tents are one of your most important buildings. the last things are HQ defenses for its name its a pretty capable defense on its own, is equipped with its own mg nest and can deploy a hero unit as well as its own riflemen, or other infantry you select. though its not as useful against a horde of enemies it sure packs a punch. when you select your HQ you can decide how you want your defending infantry to act, the 3 options are for your troops, including those deployed form tents is to rush the enemy truck, the second is for your troops to spawn and immediately seek cover. or you can have them defend the HQ, certain units work better for certain objectives, you'll have to experiment a bit to find out what works best with you. attacking is a different story, and i may or may not make something about that.
attacking basics
I actually decided to make an attacking section. of course, the objective of attacking is to destroy the enemy HQ, and there are many ways to go about this. ultimately coming down to enemy defenses and your play style. first before you attack you need to choose what units you take into battle, each unit costs a certain amount of munitions, their cost is based off their stats, quantity and effectiveness in battle. at first you will be limited in what you can take with you, mainly riflemen and sub machine gunners if im correct. But as you go on and your HQ levels up, you'll be able to take more troops to battle and different varieties of soldiers, as well as set them in infantry tents on defense(more on other page). then you need to pick what cards you take with you, these cards can boost your army in many different ways. two examples are extra munitions, or a missile, as it is with troops, you can bring more cards with you the higher your HQ level. but unlike your soldiers, cards disintegrate after you use them.

so, you've chosen what you want to bring, now to the map. the map is where you choose who and where you attack. when picking a player, you'll notice the skulls on top of their player name, these skulls signify the difficulty of the players defenses. one being easy, two being intermediate and three being challenging, there are extra rewards for destroying a base belonging to a three skull player.

once you pick who you want to attack you will deploy with your truck. your two main objectives from here on out are to destroy the base and protect your truck. if your truck dies you lose. the enemy troops will defend based on their orders from the HQ (See the previous page) they will either rush your truck, or dig in at the defenses set up around their HQ. while your truck does have its on MG to defend itself, it isnt accurate and cant defend against massed enemies. overtime you will generate munitions, use these to deploy your army, your army will appear as green buttons on the bottom of your screen, if you click on one of the icons, the selected troops will spawn at your truck, offensive cards will appear just above them, make sure not to hit your own guys! your troop limit is displayed as the helmet icon with a 00/00 next to it, if that fills up you cant deploy anyone else, you also cant deploy troops if you dont have the munitions, dont waste them! if you brought an extra munition card, you'll have more to start with. note that any airborne offensive ability from bombing runs to paradrops can and will be shot down by AA guns, so deploy them wisely. enemy structures will sometimes drop offensive cards or munitions when blown up.

Everything else should be straight forward from this point on, just to remember to focus on high value enemy buildings such as infantry tents, AA guns and anything you think the opposition would regret losing. but remember to defend your truck no matter what and that every player is different and no two bases are the same.

mm in terms of strategy my base is pretty good its based on thick walls below a barbed wire peephole with 2 bunkers and a sniper pointed at it plus a sniper on the other side of the walls
the HQ has a engineer card, a 1 sergeant, 5 (10?) grunt, 1 grenadier card, and a sniper defense card with upgraded walls giving the base some extra cover
my AA gun is positioned behind a bunker and the mortar behind the other bunker
i have like 7 sandbags in a row with 2 tank traps at the front
as well as 2 fire barrels in front of the 1st sniper
got me a few keys from successful defenses
