* rewrite it so it reads like real documentation instead of 2000s hax0r quakeC "mod" ""tutorial""
* add an extra section addressing fog; ain't DUSK w/o the fog
* ask audience to create a separate gameconfig (see Trenchbroom's manual).
Too many ties to Quake creates confusion for complete newbies. I think DUSK mappers should install a game config for convenience. Maybe separating the two early on could help clear things up.
* link to & highlight the Quake Mapping discord (j5xh8QT).
Regardless of the scorn DUSK receives from certain Quake fans, the resources & folks at QM are fantastic and I think it's worth joining if you care even a tiny bit for Quake.
I wrote this guide a long time ago and it has a smarmy, "quirky" tone plastered throughout. However, most of the information is still the same and I've been too busy to do anything mapping related, so I don't plan on fixing it anytime soon.
If the DUSK community or Zombie posts a better guide, I will replace this guide with a link to that.
THANK YOU dear sir. All in all it worked and I did compile a map & launched it and it did work absolutely fine. CTHULHU FHTAGN
"...next to "Tools folder" and locate ericw-tools inside of the folder "Tools" we made earlier..."
Should I select the main ericw folder or "bin" folder as on your picture?
PS. I am not on discord and don't want to. But I am on ModDB if that matters
