"(Click the pic to make it bigger and easier to see) As stated, THESE ARE NOT OFFICIAL STEAM TRADING CARDS! I was just looking at my games and realized that trading cards (and emoticons and badges) would be perfect for Cave Story+. So I decided to just open up MS Paint and here's the result. It's pretty bad but hopefully it might jog around some ideas. I might try and do backgrounds at a later date but for now this will do. Thoughts on all of these:

Cards: The face portraits were the easiest thing to think of for the cards, since it perfectly shows each of the characters. I chose the portraits of the characters that were mainly involved with the story (since it's considered a "secret" ending and the fact that he only appears at the end, I decided not to do a Ballos card). I used a steam trading card template (http://i7.minus.com/ibkNxtpFKnTYcO.png) and just enlarged the portraits so that they could fit. Then I just added the Cave Story logo to the bottom and that was that. I was thinking of changing the background colors for each portrait, but I decided to just leave them since they suit most characters (The Doctor's red BG represents his hatred and greed while Toroko's blue BG represents her innocence, though I'm kind of going too deep into it).

Emoticons: Items/weapons are an important factor of Cave Story, so I decided to make emoticons out of them. I used the first few weapons that you find in the game as common emoticons (since they are just about impossible to miss for the average player) while I used the life pot as a rare emoticon (since there are only two in the game) and a super missile as an uncommon one (since it's easy to get but can be missed by going through a different path). For all of them, ":csp:"= Cave Story Plus. Didn't just want to use ":cs:" since it could be used for Counter Strike.

Badges: Honestly, I got kind of lazy here. I wanted the badges to do something with Quote so I just used a few pictures of him in various versions (in order from top to bottom: mimiga Quote, easy-mode Quote, normal Quote, hard-mode Quote, and Quote from the "Unstoppable" achievement). For the foil, I was thinking of putting in Balrog, Curly, or a different version of Quote. So I decided: why not all of them? I used the picture from the "Curse Broken" achievement for the foil badge. I named the normal badges after heroic terms (again, I got kind of lazy) and the foil badge after exactly what the best ending is.

Again, keep in mind that this is all fan-made and was all made in MS Paint. Hopefully Cave Story+ will get official trading cards soon."
