Overview
What I love most of this game is the amazing fighting system which reflects the "savage" Indy fighting style.

Fighting system is built upon interaction between right mouse button and left mouse button.
Repeated pressure or alternate pressure of these buttons ("RMB" and "LMB" from now on) will lead to different melee attacks.

First thing to learn is that melee attacks are different when they are performed from a "still" position or from a "moving" one. There are total of 30 attacks whose 14 are "still" attacks and other 16 are "moving" attacks. Hence we would dedicate separate sections of this guide to each type.

"Still" attacks
"Still" attacks can be performed only when Indy is not walking neither running.
These attacks split into basic ones and advanced ones.

Basic attacks

Basic attacks are perfomed with just one hand.
They are performed just by pressing LMB or RMB from one time to three times.
  • LMB = Left Jab

  • LMB + LMB = Left Jab + Left Cross

  • LMB + LMB + LMB = Left Jab + Left Cross + Left Hook

  • RMB = Right Jab

  • RMB + RMB = Right Jab + Right Cross

  • RMB + RMB + RMB = Right Jab + Right Cross + Right Hook

Advanced attacks

Advanced attacks are performed by alternating both hands.
They are performed by pressing multiple mouse buttons in a row (can be two or three).

Two-buttons combo:
  • LMB + RMB = Left Jab + Right Cross

  • RMB + LMB = Right Jab + Left Cross

Three-buttons combo:
  • LMB + LMB + RMB = Left Jab + Left Cross + Right Uppercut
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • LMB + RMB + LMB = Left Jab + Right Cross + Upper Backhand
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • LMB + RMB + RMB = Left Jab + Right Cross + Right Hook

  • RMB + LMB + LMB = Right Jab + Left Cross + Left Hook

  • RMB + LMB + RMB = Right Jab + Left Cross + Right Uppercut
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • RMB + RMB + LMB = Right Jab + Right Cross + Upper Backhand
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

"Moving" attacks
"Moving" attacks can be performed only when Indy is walking or running.
These attacks split into basic ones and advanced ones.

Basic attacks

Basic attacks are perfomed with just one hand.
They are performed just by pressing LMB or RMB from one time to three times.
  • LMB = Left Jab

  • LMB + LMB = Left Jab + Left Elbow

  • LMB + LMB + LMB = Left Jab + Left Elbow + Left Slap
    effect: the opponent will be facing opposite direction

  • RMB = Right Jab

  • RMB + RMB = Right Jab + Right Slap

  • RMB + RMB + RMB = Right Jab + Right Slap + Right Uppercut
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

Advanced attacks

Advanced attacks are performed by alternating both hands.
They are performed by pressing multiple mouse buttons in a row (can be two, three or four).

Two-buttons combo:
  • LMB + RMB = Left Jab + Right Slap

  • RMB + LMB = Right Hook + Left Elbow

Three-buttons combo:
  • LMB + LMB + RMB = Left Jab + Left Elbow + Right Cross

  • LMB + RMB + LMB = Left Jab + Right Slap + Lower Backhand
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • LMB + RMB + RMB = Left Jab + Right Slap + Right Uppercut
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • RMB + LMB + LMB = Right Hook + Left Elbow + Left Slap
    effect: the opponent will be facing opposite direction

  • RMB + LMB + RMB = Right Hook + Left Elbow + Right Cross

  • RMB + RMB + LMB = Right Jab + Right Slap + Lower Backhand
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

Four-buttons combo:
  • LMB + LMB + RMB + RMB = Left Jab + Left Elbow + Right Cross + Knee strike
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

  • RMB + LMB + RMB + RMB = Right Hook + Left Elbow + Right Cross + Knee strike
    effect: the opponent will be sent to the ground

Additional techniques
We would like to point out that, in addition to melee attacks, Indy can also:
  • send the opponent to the ground by hitting him with the shoulder (just by pressing and hold RMB);

  • strike an "hammer" punch when the opponent is behind him (just by pressing RMB);

  • strike an elbow attack when the opponent is next to him (just by pressing either LMB or RMB);

  • grab an opponent (just by pressing LMB and RMB at same time) and, when he holds opponent in the hands, he can choose either to throw him away or give a few more hits before throwing away;

  • broke a grab (just by pressing RMB when opponent performs grab);

  • counter a grab with headbutt (just by pressing LMB when opponent performs grab);

Final considerations
Whether you are going to memorize all combos or not, there a two that are worthy to be learnt as soon as possible:
  • the first one is the "still" RMB + RMB + RMB sequence. If correctly performed, the final uppercut will cause the opponent to fall to the ground. This will give a good opportunity to escape in case an avoidance of fight is needed.

  • the second one is the "moving" LMB + LMB + LMB sequence. If correctly performed, the final slap will cause the opponent to give his back to Indy. This will give a good opportunity to grab opponent from his back and give a few extra hits before throwing him away and until that moment the opponent is unable to react to Indy. If you even manage to slam the opponent to a wall while throwing him away, you will have chance to finish him off with a few hits while he is stunned. This is, perhaps, the deadliest combo in the game and it is very easy to learn.

That's is all, enjoy your new skills!
