Unleash Your Inner Photographer! | Free Camera Mod Installation Guide
By Arthur
I felt like the game was lacking a proper photo mode, so I created a Cheat Engine table that tries to mimic one by hacking a free camera into the game.

24/08/2021: Updated to support the latest game version (Kizuna AI DLC).

This guide assumes you have the lasted version of Cheat Engine installed.

Downloading the mod
After you're done installing the latest version of Cheat Engine, go to the mod's GitHub repository at https://github.com/RokkuDayo/NeptuniaVS_Camera-Tools
and click on "Code" -> "Download ZIP"

You should now have this file in your Downloads folder.

Extract the contents of the ZIP file somewhere you can easily find them later, like your Documents folder.
Going in-game and enabling the mod
Let that folder rest for a while and boot the game as usual.

Going to the Control Facility Cloud isn't a requirement, but I recommend doing so to avoid any mistakes.

Now that we are here, minimize the game with Alt+Tab (or in any other way in which you're used to, doesn't need to be Alt+Tab) and boot Cheat Engine.

Tip: Instead of minimizing the game, you can just press the Windows key and boot Cheat Engine from there, this way, the game will stay in your screen while you use Cheat Engine, though doing this may require using Alt+Tab to maximize Cheat Engine.

Click the "Select a process to open" button in the top-left of CE's windows and hook onto the game's process, as shown below.

Click on the "Open a cheat table" button, located at the right side of the button we just pressed in the last step, and navigate to where you unzipped the file we downloaded in the first section of the guide, now, double-click the cheat table.

A "Code List" prompt should show up, just click on "Ok"

If you see that the address list is now populated with new entries, then everything worked out.

Now comes the most important step, enable the first entry in the address list, named "Structures (Activate First!)", if the entries inside it also activate, then you're ready to go back to the game.

Now back in the game, press "F1" to test if the cheat table is working. If the HUD disappears, then everything should be working fine.

Key Mapping
We just used F1 to hide the hud, the rest of the hotkeys are in the image below.

F2 will engage the free camera mode.

If you look closely at the cheat table, you'll notice an "Extra" section, I won't go in-depth on it as they don't have many purposes for people who only want the camera mod, but feel free to mess around with them if you know what you're doing.
Current problems, future updates and closing notes.
As mentioned in the keybind image and on the GitHub page, there are some problems that I haven't been able to circumvent yet that made me turn this into a pre-release, those being:

• Freezing the world will also freeze some rendering elements related to characters and enemies (fresnel and some parts of the rim-lighting), which makes things look off if you moved the camera too much in relation to the position at the moment you froze everything. I'll be looking further into this when I have more time.

• The depth of field effect breaks when flying the camera around, so I disabled it whenever the free camera is engaged. This has a lower priority than the aforementioned issue but is still a problem nonetheless.

• Pausing the world also seems to mess with the game's temporal anti-aliasing solution. It is hard for me to pinpoint what exactly is happening but there is no denying that the game gets more aliased when frozen.

• Freezing the world messes up the temporal anti-aliasing somehow, hard to pinpoint what exactly is the source of the problem but there is no denying that the game gets aliased when it is frozen.

• Turning this into something easier to use than a cheat table would be nice, but getting this working properly is the top priority.

All these problems will need to be fixed for this to turn into a proper release, but I have no ETA for this. If you know anything that could help, don't hesitate in leaving a comment or sending me a DM.

Ah, well, that's understandable, thanks for this one at least! Your camera here is great!

Glad you liked it and I would love to make one of these for NepSK but I don't have the same free time I had when I made this so I don't think I'll ever get to it. Looking back I'm not sure how I even pulled this off as I had never made one of these before.

Great camera! Any chance at doing one for Neptunia X Senran Kagura? That game really has a restricted camera

Ah so the Kizuna AI update broke it, I'm going to update it as soon as possible.

Just letting you know that this tool no longer works as for the latest update.
