I was wrong. I went by memory rather than testing it. But you are also wrong.
%CommonProgramFiles(x86)% and %APPDATA% are completely different paths
it leads to AppData\Roaming
you can easily test and confirm it.

%CommonProgramFiles(x86)% would lead you to windows partition of ":\Program Files (x86)\Common Files" not specficially to C drive.
