"KILL THE OUTSIDER!!!"

I made this guide, because these are tips that I think that other noobs need to know, like this new launcher. Before ya do any of the cool stuff and not-so cool stuff, like getting killed a lot (I dunno if this is a reference to me getting killed a lot and I am usually the first one to die.) The gameplay and extra how-to play is in another guide.


Note: When it comes to your Among Us Account there's gonna be hiccups here and there, like a few annoying glitches to "I tried entering a lobby, but I can't." major ones. Since the indie company is learning as they go.

Don't Forget To

If you're returning, before you start ANYTHING. Just click on the "Proceed" button, when weird messages begin to pop up.

This is part of the new Account Linking system, because clicking on anything that's not "Proceed", will cause you to lose the stuff that ya paid for and/or put them in a limbo state, until, you select your MAIN platform. (The Limbo State is something that I am not certain of.


Due to serious international child safety laws, one needs to really prove that they're an adult and/or have a guardian to handle the big stuff. It's just that InnerSloth is just super strict about things and requires a credit card or social security number for proof. - Another form that I am not joking that InnerSloth is doing this is in the Private Policy e-mail that they'll sent ya if you ask them.

The bittersweet thing is that not all of the "calling tech support" shing dings require the credit card and such. Ya just need only this:


Ya just click on the "Show Account ID" and boom, you're ready to send the support ticket to solve your problems. Just show them that long laundry list of your Bean guy identification, along your screenshot proofs of the glitches..

For now, Among Us only supports connecting into one MAIN accout, trying to log into myraids of platforms (like Steam/Apple ID/Google Play/itch.io, etc), will cause it to go crazy and messages will pop out, like MismatchedProductUserIDs and LinkAccountFail. (More of this will be explained in the "Troubleshooting" chapter).



Introducing the "Guest Mode", now this mode is very limited in what the gamer can do with it, but they can still play the game. (This mode only has "Quick Chat" and randomized names). The gamer can access more basic features once they make an Among Us account.

For guests to change their names, there's a built in name generator, like Acti-Blizzard's launcher. Be aware, that other gamers can go by the same name (Like there's a million Kaletiles).

The Among Us account is a primitive one, unlike the other ones that I currently uses (for example, the AUA doesn't have friendlists, despite that the game can crossplay throughout different platforms). The only main purposes are to give gamers a few important abilities, like: Reporting if there's a bad actor on board, mainly ones that: have inappropriate names, are doing inappropriate chat/curses everything under the sun, harassments/other forms of misconducts, like cheating and hacking. Two) to be able to use the "free chat" to chat with others in the lobby.
Besides the important abilities, the other features that the AUA has will give the person to change their names.

How it appears after logging in.

Account Codes: Yellow means that a gamer is using "Guest Mode". Green means that a gamer is logged in. Gray means that the gamer is playing offline.



Android/iOS - To make an account, just click on "Sign In" and it will link automatically with your Google Play/Apple ID account or click on the create account, make the correct birthday, change names, and connect to it. To log into your account, just click on the red crewmate icon, and you'll be log in. Kids under 13 years old needs permission from parents/guardians to gain access to the Among Us goods.

PC, Mobile, Console



Secure your accounts in a vault app, like Last Past, KeePass, Dashlane, or Google Authenticator, if you're playing on mobile (Yes, especially on mobile) Epic Games Store, Steam, and insert launcher here. You can't be too careful about the IRL Imposters.

Mobile:
The Among Us shop has a "Restore Purchases" button, so the gamer can reclaimed their skins and pets.
Android - Make use of the file transfer to bring your game data to your new android phone.

PC

Steam:
To transfer your game stats and cosmetics, go to
C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Innersloth\Among Us
Copy and paste the contents from your old pc folder to your new PC.

NOTE: You can only do this after making your account, name changing is ONLY for those with accounts. Only the built in name generator is available for Guests, if they want to change their names.

There's two ways to change your name, one is to use the established name generator that the Among Us account has to offer. The other is to enter your name.

First of all, go to your account and click on it.


Using the "Name Bar," you type in the desired name.

The ones below are just some samples of me fooling around with the "Name Bar."

After the Cosmicube Update, here's some of the new perks that you're account can do.

• Your account will show you what current level that you're in.
  
• It displays your individual AUA ID (In a safety way).

Now you will get a second name, but this is permanent. This second name is the Friend Code name, isn't customizable. Unlike your account name, which can be change to whatever's your heart's content.

Maybe Outdated Note: For now, the stats cannot be transfer when you get a new device, like a new phone or Nintendo Switch. They will restart (Only important stuff, like the pets and skins will get transfer (We paid money for those babies and it will be a drag to rebuy or wait for special days/holidays to get them, but the stats are just mere bragging rights).

This chapter will explain briefly the new ways of shopping in Among Us.

The DLC Shop is where one can buy cosmetics, skins, visor skins, name plates, more Cosmicubes and even cute or ugly cute critters. But be aware that with certain devices the pricing can be weird, like the paying differences for a few bucks (The Bedcrab pet bundle is $1.99 in the PC, whereas it's $2.99 on mobile). Some are outright free in certain devices, like the Nintendo Switch...Or straight up unavailable - The pets and some of the cosmetics are straight up not present.


Another methods have been added, the Bean and Pod currency, but with these you can earn them by playing the game. One can earn cosmetics, skins, and whatnot without giving a dime for Stars. This will be explained in later chapters.

These are the "OG" gang, despite the new Cosmic Cube update. Ya still need to use Stars to buy some of them. - In order to get Stars ya need to spend real money, then you can buy one of the OG Stuff, like the Polus Bundle.



Be aware that some of the skins and cosmetics, like the item combo that I called the "Loki Odinson" cosplay, were made free during the Cosmicube update. In the past, you need to buy the Crown and the Black Suit. Another thing was that some of the OG Gang/Bundles have recolors that one can get for free by using the Beans at the store or buying the non-Star Cosmicubes.

"I am burden with a glorious purpose."

Tip: A ton of the skins, cosmetics, and pets have been renamed, the Crown and the Black Suit were renamed to "Crowned" and "Suited Up".

This is what I called the Wardrobe Button, this is where you go to access your Cosmicube panel.

The CC's only currency are Pods, which can be earned by playing the game.

This is the MIRA Cosmicube, its your first one. But I already activated mine, it's a bad example but you can deactivate and reactive them.

Here's where the fun begins,

Once activated, you start with this tree and use the Pods to work your way around the tree and earn the goods and the pets.

Now if you want to buy more Cosmicube "saplings", go to the store and use your Stars or Beans.

Only one Cosmicube can be activated at a time, so, just pick one that you want to finish first.

Here's what I earned after playing.


Tip: Unlike certain stuff, like the "OG Bundles", one can obtain some of the newer pets, skins, cosmetics, name templates, and other things by using Beans or Pods, which I nicknamed "Shard(s)" (or "Metal(s)"), just by playing.

Now there's two types of what I would like to call Arcane Cosmicube (s) and both need to be bought with using Stars, now the Arcane Cosmicube (s) have to be bought at a specific time frame. After that they're gone. The other ACs are less stress inducing, since one has to wait for the next holidays, special days, or events; they're more recurring.


Only those that use their Stars or Beans to buy the Arcane Cosmicube(s) will enjoy their contents forever.


I doesn't know much about Poros, save that they're cute, fluffy and loves to eat cinnamon roll buns.


Note: Some of the Arcane Cosmicube (s) are collaborations between InnerSloth and other companies, like Riot Games. Now who knows when these special ones will return, if ever.

Yes, now you can dress up like Player's Dad and cross your fingers that ya don't get banned by "Among Us Logic" lobby role players.

After playing working up a gaming session or two, it's time to hop to the store and there's certain areas were one can use the can of beans.

This here Beanie shelf.

Beans are flexible in the store can be used to buy a variety of stuff, including new Cosmicube boards.

(Note: Add how to access the DLC after buying instructions.)

The Wardrobe is were your collection of skins, Cosmicubes, pets, kids, name templates, and Visor-skins are located.

There's three methods to go to the Wardrobe:

First Method

Go click/select the "Game Creator" in "Local".

Now that you're in the "Lobby/ Waiting Room", click on the box with the black top hat to change skins, clothes, name templates, visors skins, and grab what pets that you want.


Second Method

Clicking on the Crewmate button that's next to the Store icon, will take you to the Wardrobe page.

Third Method

Click/select the "Public" icon to find a game.

Click one of the games in the server menu.

You should find yourself in the "waiting room" and can change colors, skins, clothes, and pets before the round begins.

Creation Of A Lobby

It's the exact description, you can create a lobby to play with people world wide.

Finding A Game

This button will lead to lobbies were people can play internationally.

Select a lobby.

Tip: The circle that's around the icon gives you the option to toggle what type of censorship in your lobbies: Uncensored or censored.

Super Triangle Button

Now this button is were you enter either the secret code to get into a server…

Customize if you want your text/voice chat and game uncensored or censored.

Oh, The Places You Go


This particular button changes the language.


This is the menu were one can pick the designated language (and area) to find specific lobbies with that target language.

Now this chapter will give a tour about lobby creation. Click on the computer.

As one can see, there's various settings, like for the speed, how many Imps, what map, and the probability of the Roles popping out, like Engineer.


Here's a tiny menu on which roles that one can toggle on, the durations, and what have you.

The settings are how many Imps, which map, and such. It's how ever you want it.

The two previous chapters prepares how one will set up a lobby for worldwide game play lobby purposes.

Now these lobbies are out in the public, this is were anyone can join in.


One clicks/selects a name to enter in and waits in the "waiting room" for others to join.

Tips:

I won't guarantee that your gaming experience will be good, ya might strike gold and be lucky, have the same bad luck as Player or meet toxic people or people that needs to see the therapist instead of playing an already stressful game, since crazy stuff happens even though you join a non-toxic server. It can be a mixed bag. Well, that's what I experienced earlier and I have the wildest stories to tell.

This is just a tiny intro guide that's within the game that shows the very basic mechanics on how to play and what one can do.

Generally, "Free Mode" is the practice mode. One can learn pathways, shortcuts, memorize vents here and other gameplay skill honing here.

How To Find The InnerSloth Tech Support: The last comment in the forum has the link to Innersloth's customer support.


Depending on the account glitch, it's best to play in "Guest Mode" when nothing else works (Until, InnerSloth fixes things through an update).


PS4/PS5

You cannot connect your AU account to do that awesome cloud/crossover for multiplayer syncing purposes with your PS4/PS5.

These are tips about how to change the "Unbirthday" into your actual birthday.

* Uninstall and reinstall the game.





Steam


Epic Games -

* "Free Chat Thinks You're Undage - EGS Edition" - Go to Settings>Data and change it to "Free and quick chat."


REMEMBER: The "Misplaced Product" glitches occurs when one is trying to log into Among Us via multiple devices...Until Innersloth puts in a cool update to prevent this from happening.

Steam -

* "Account Isn't Seen" - Log out, close Among Us, restart, and log in again.

* Set AU into beta tests.


* Play Among Us on your secondary Steam account, friend it, and use Family Share.

* Restart the computer (This works most of the time).
* Sign out of your account, fiddle with the randomize name generator 3+ times, and log in.
* Reinstall "Among Us".

Complete Among Us Wipe
1) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common , find the "Among Us Folder", and delete it.
2) Go to C:\Users\ (YOUR USER HERE) \ AppData\LocalLow, find the "Innersloth" folder and get rid of it.
3) Lastly, go to Steam, right click, manage, and click on "Uninstall" or click on "Library", scroll down the side bar, until you find "Among Us", click to highlight the menu, and click on "Uninstall."
4) Reinstall the game.

Epic Games -

"Error FailedEpicAuthToken" - Just relaunch the Epic Games Launcher, make sure that the auth page loads up in your startup broswer, and load Among Us. (Sometimes, this happens when one is opening the game on the desktop shortcut, instead of the launcher). The trick is just log into your EG account and open up your game from there.

High Ping

Some tips to fix this is either one of these.

1. Turn all devices that uses the internet.
2. Connect the wire directly into the computer.
3. Change your region to a country where they have a lower ping.
4. Reset your PC.

Error InterfaceInitFail (Steam Forum)



Note: Using this fix it will reset all of the game files. This tip will also work in offline mode and/or help bypass trouble.

1) Go to "AppData" (Windows Key + R)

2) Go and open the folder that's called "LocalLow".

3) Find the "Innersloth" folder, delete it and then close the tab.

4) Open up both Steam and the game, it should be fix.


Redeeming Pop Up
Like stated with the beginning chapters, make sure ya clicked both "Proceed" and "Redeem Purchases" pop up before all the linking fun. Note: Doing mistakes with account linking will result in the message no longer popping up or retrieving your stuff. This will mean that ya have to call tech support.
Email the following:

• 1) What platform/device that you're playing on.
  
• 2) Your Crewmate ID for your "old" game/account (your old account has all your DLC) and your "new" game/account (is totally blank).

If the Stars that you're trying to buy didn't appear, just do one of the following things:

• Check to see if Among Us is updated to it's current update.
  
• Restart the game.

Contact Tech support and send them the following.

• The platform/device that you're playing on.
  
• Your Crewmate Account ID.
  
• Screenshot of your receipt.
  
• The exact number of the suppose Stars that you're suppose to receive.

Just hang tight and wait.

For PC Users

Just try moving to the public Beta version.

Right click on the game > Properties > Betas > Then pick 'public-beta - pubic-beta.'

Note: The email message that sent me this when I was in trouble said that the whole "Public Beta" version is just for the Steam version. But I assume that this will also apply and help the other Among Us PC launchers.
