The Palette
By default, Townscaper features 16 hand-picked colours that work great together for creating beautiful towns. If you'd like to change them though, perhaps for building something very specific, it's quite easy to do so.

1. Find your LOCAL_LOW folder, typically it looks something like this:
C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\LocalLow\ OR
Inside it, find the Oskar Stalberg\Townscaper\Textures folder
OR on MAC:
~/Library/Application\ Support/com.OskarStalberg.Townscaper/Textures in the user folder.

2. Optional: Back up the TownPalette.png file

3. Open the TownPalette.png file in an editor of your choice. Photoshop, Paint, anything will do.

4. Edit the individual colours visible to any of your choosing and save the file. If the game is running, these will even update in real-time meaning you can see your changes immediately!

Note: If you ever need to revert your changes, you can simply delete the TownPalette.png file and start the game up again. It'll automatically create a new one with the original colours.

Another point: the palette file is 1 pixel high and 16 pixels wide, for 16 colours. I expand it 5000% in Corel's PaintshopPro and set my selection tool to 1 px x 1 px. The colours are not saved with the town file, so if you change the palette, it changes the colours in the opened town file(s). I've made several palettes with different colour groups, from greys to brights, and can post them online if anyone would like them.

Just FYI, the palette PNG is too small for some editors (like Win 10's built-in editor), but it opens in Paintshop Pro. And to find the file you have to make sure hidden files are visible (toggle in settings), otherwise even the correct folder is invisible.

On Windows the correct folder can be opened by pressing Win+R (the 'run' command shortcut) and pasting the following into the box:
%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Oskar Stalberg\Townscaper\Textures
or just copy that path to the adress bar of the file-explorer.
