This guide has been written to collect the information that I have gathered and the information that I have found in many searches into one more easily followed collection of information. I do not claim sole ownership of any of the information and do not claim to be the first to discover any of it. I have only placed the combination of my findings and the findings of others together for the benefit of players.

I hope that players will find this helpful in their playthroughs. Thank you to everyone who helped.

For some reason G*ypsy is censored when spelled properly (♥♥♥♥♥). Just informing that I have to write it differently.

Squad Slot Recommendations
These units perform well in these slots and are what I recommend for building very strong units without delving too much into bonuses of multiple of the same unit and hidden abilities.

Shops
The two shops available are the Gig Edict Shop and the Decoration shop. The shops are accessed from within the "Arrange" option of the menu. The contents of the shops change after any battle; this does include inspections. These shops can be leveled up like in other NIS games. To level them up, purchase things from them until you have filled the bar. Afterward while in the shop use one of the "Fight" type Gig Edicts to engage the shop keeper. Once defeated the shop will level up and will gain access to new wares. Merchants will also change when using the "Change" option to randomize your rooms.

There is also a chance to run into a much stronger Merchant God while doing this. Merchant Gods have a level somewhere around 1000. These will normally pop up in the higher levels and are quite difficult. Remember to look at the representative image and equip decorations to reduce damage because they will hit incredibly hard. These Merchant Gods will be a single extremely large enemy with special dialog.

It is also important to note that in the NA PS2 version, the game would freeze after. The freeze would take several minutes to clear and it has something to do with the unlocking of the "Cat's Cradle" room. If it should happen to freeze for you upon defeating a Merchant God, please remember to give it a moment just in case.

These same Merchant Gods are also the this games version of magical summons, not to be confused with summoning a unit. Unit's in the rooms which give access to them will be able to cast them.

Basic Room and Home Information
It is important to state that throughout a regular cycle, the player CAN unlock most rooms with the exception of two. To unlock -"Demon's Bed"- the player must give into Gig at the beginning and complete the Gig Path, Demon Path, including the final boss. The other rooms -"Gambler's Hall"- will unlock upon completing a cycle to the end.

Each room has the potential to have a decoration, this decoration that is provided will not go away. Any decorations placed in the other slots will go away after each battle with one exception: Inspection. While going through an inspection all attached decor items will remain between inspections and floors. Each room's unit slots can be increased via inspections. Each room's decoration potency can be increased by inspection. Some rooms will appear with multiple equipped decorations. You should also pay attention to whether the room is meant for the Hero Squad or Summoned Squad. Some decorations do not benefit the Hero Squad.

Homes
Eventually you are going to find a few rooms you like for your main squad. Luckily, once these rooms have unlocked, you can buy these as homes. The advantage of homes is that they retain the levels and RP no matter how many times they are changed with the "Change" option. Homes can even be swapped at will and then come back to so long as they have been purchased.

Some Confusion with Room Unlocks
Ensure when going for the room dungeon specific unlocks that the room dungeons you dive into are the exact prices that you need. The game does not award easier prizes for more difficult rooms. The requirements are EXACT.
Inspections and Room Stats
While in "Arrange" the player can choose to strengthen rooms via inspections and the character's Room Stats by using "Train" in the "Restock" option. Performing "Inspections" and gains "RP", Room Points, which can be spent on characters to increase their "Room Stats". These inspections are random dungeons based on the base stats of the chosen room. Rooms that are purchased as "Homes" will keep all stage and level changes even if the room is changed. Locked Rooms will also hold onto the information for as long as they stay locked and are not "Changed" via the "Change" option.

How do I get RP and what is RP for?
RP's are gained by adventuring deep into the room's dungeon, the further you go and the longer you stay in, the more you will come out with. RP is spent on the units within a squad to increase their stats. It is worth mentioning that the Hero cannot be moved from the room they start in and in order to adjust their stats it must be done on the one they are in. This isn't a problem because of "Homes." Use the "Change" option to randomly change the contents of the room including the dungeon inside.

Character's Room Stats
Each character has their own Room Stats and they are view-able from both the stats screen and the training screen. These stats and what they do are in the table below. A point to notice is that some stats are only useful for the leader. If is a "Leader Stat, only the leader's stat will affect the unit. If it is a "Follower Stat", only the follower's stat will affect the unit.

Stat
Description
Max
Leader/Follower/Both Stat
STM
Stamina, how long a unit can make actions before receiving penalties to stats (>=50%). Differant actions affect it differently. Being hit also drains STM.

Action, how quickly the squad's turn will come up and how far it can move.
50
Leader
RNG
Range, how many tiles away a unit can target an enemy squad with a direct attack (this includes the melee units within).
9
Leader
SKL
Skill, how many times units can use their abilities. Multi-unit skills look at the stats of each required member.
20

FUP
Squad Leader Adjustment, it determines the percent of base stats that a unit contributes to increase the Squad Leader's stats.

Helpful Info
For any unit except the Hero. The player can delve as deep into any room they want for as long as they want for the purpose of leveling up units or building RP or collecting GP -Gig Points- or even collecting decorations. After the room is no longer needed, Move any unit that you want to power up into that room and use up the RP. Then move them back and feel free to reroll or randomize the room again with the "Change" command. This will reset the room back to floor 1 and can be used for all sorts of reasons.

Homes will gain extra unit slots after the completion of every 20th level (20,40,60, and 80.)
Leveling Techniques AKA Inspection
Soul Nomad is not a terribly difficult game in what it demands from you as a player, but if you want to put in the grind to get those super strong characters there are some things to remember. The leveling will be done in inspection dungeons with similar rooms and decorations as listed below.

Leveling to Overcome the Game
Should you for any reason want or need to be a higher level, there are things you can do to quickly remedy this. An easy method is to level up the store to gain access to higher level decorations. Certain ones can really speed up the grind, especially if you focus solely on the Hero and just buy your other units at higher levels after. This method focuses on the use of the later acquired "Demon Force" skill which is used from the map instead of battle to take out several enemies at once for full experience that is not split.

Secret Guide
Stats DOWN by 50%, but you gain 5x EXP.
Vengeful Hope

Silent Walk
Will not be targeted for 3 turns.

Leveling to Become Statistically Stronger
For those who don't just want to be a higher level, but also want all the boosts of getting those levels themselves you will still want to level up the shop, but for different decorations. There are others though that work depending on your need.

Decoration

3rd Growth

Rooms Matter!
Depending on how many cycles you've been through, zero or several, the room you are in can greatly affect your efforts. Rooms to look out for. Remember that if you level up the rooms their effects and the effects of the decorations inside increase!

Room

Reason
Cat's Cradle
Paw Day: Stats up by 10% per new game cycle
Each game cycle will make you much stronger than the last
Loki's Fortune
Daily Boost: EXP up 50%
Open Field
Nothing
Contains 4 completely open slots that can be used for a multitude of reasons.

Roll Those Rooms!
Once you've decided your decorations and rooms and what your end goal is, it's time to start using the change command to roll the extra rooms for inspections. Enjoy the grind.

Extra Info
No you do not get any experience from Town NPC or Shop fights.
Decorations
Decorations are like equipment for a room. They benefit only the members of that given room. If the room comes with a decoration by default, you will always have that effect. The other slots however are one-use and will disappear after a map. Inspections do not count however and will not use up your one-use decorations.

For Clarity Sake
Some of the decorations are actually meant for the Summoned Squads and not the Hero Squad. Strong examples even have "when summoned" in the descriptions. So if you notice it's not working like you think, try using it on a Summoned Squad instead of the Hero Squad. To further clarify, here are a few examples that are not meant for the Hero Squad.

Random Examples that don't say it in the description
Aveta's Panic: Gain 3 turns immediately but STM = 0 after
Gold Bequest: Gain 100GP when squad is defeated
Light Steps: Summon Range +5

Bad Vibes and Other Decorations
Most everything here is of a COMPLETELY random nature.

Bad Vibes
Bad vibes are random groups of units that will occasionally fill one of your rooms. These units will leave if you activate another change but keeping them might be worth it if you want certain rewards like the below decorations, extra slots on a room up to the max in the case of the Witches, special items -wishes- granted in the case of Porunga. Once the Bad Vibes have taken over a room they just need to be left alone for a few battles. These battles can be story or room dungeons. After each fight come back into arrange and they may give you a gift or perform some action like room slot increase for you. Normally its roughly 3 separate fights. Look out for Porunga, it is an amazing reference.

Bonus/Extra (Possible Spoilers)
Unlike other NIS games, this doesn't have a lot of hidden content. That however doesn't mean that it has none! Challenge yourself to the Secret Repeatable Boss! Collect the hidden characters! They are here so why not?

Secret Repeatable Boss
Heroman

When interacting with and attacking certain NPC's, you run the risk of being attacked by the NPC Heroman (in battle he will be a Gideon). This NPC will grow stronger each time it is encountered. Heroman is likely to come to the rescue of the following NPC's if you start a fight with them. A fight can be initiated on them through the use of any Gig Edict with the fight/bully/ambush/etc.. effect.
It's also fair to note that you can just continually attack the same npc until you get his level high enough.

Final Thoughts and Thank You
While working on this guide and remembering past games from NIS, it occurred to me that this is almost perfectly a prequel to Phantom Brave, or maybe Phantom Brave is a spiritual successor due to the name changes. I won't spoil the connections but if you have already played Phantom Brave, enjoy the obvious connections. This also explains why they were picked to be released together for NIS Prinny Collection 1.

I hope this provided the information you were looking for. Thank you also to those who chipped in. Please rate up if you like or found this useful.
