In this game, when you have too less ATK, you would only deal 0-1 damage to enemies. Some common situations are in the maintenance area of neotube with a lvl33 twitter post dragon-ish monster and the last shadow battle after clearing the game.

Here are some minor tips to raise the damage output

The best form of increasing the ATK is by Vcubes.

Just sort the cubes by attack and fill your attacker with the highest value ones, do not be deterred by the minus life points as most bosses are not capable of hitting you multiple times in a row and you can use items whenever you want. If you still feel the life being too low you can fill other vacant CPUs with life buffing cubes ad all 4 of them share one life bar.

The costume items can also affect your damage by the skills they hold, wear a new costume and fight a while, the skill on it would be unlocked. Aim for additional attack/skill damage. If you do not like the look of the costume you can hide by using the select button for controller (the key for emo overdrive)

Always select the first song (unlimited) as this is the only song that boost your attack power. For controllers use the right stick.

shoot the red gems would also give you a temporary attack boost.

With both attack modifiers my neptune goes from dealing 1 damage to the last boss shadow form (lv96) to around 200.

Use the resonance mode in order to change the battle field into a flat one, then use the miracle app <release> to upam neptune's shotgun skill in close range would deal massive damage to most of the bosses, however, the emo core seems to be immune to most of neptune skills.

If after all those measures, the damage dealt is still too low, then it might be the time to grind for better equipment and levels.

Blanc also has much higher base ATK and has a charge attack, she is good for those bosses who would spam guard and nullify any damage, as she deal damage in short bursts.

I got the cheevo for the shadow form of last boss with a lv75 team, my neptune had around 490 ATK and would deal 60 damage to the shadow core and 0-1 damage to last boss without the song/gem buff.
