most the button are swapped around by default. like it shows Circle to Cancel but it was actually square that do the job, X is swapped with Triangle, etc.

The solution

go to your game library and click on the gear

choose properties and click on Controllers, then on Override choose "disable Steam input"

Viola, it should work as intended now

but only ps4 controller The buttons on the left side of the ps5 controller cannot be used
