Fix for game starting and closing with no error message

I saw many solutions being provided for error messages or crashes of some kind but not this. Since this was my specific issue, I thought I'd share the solution for others that might have this problem too.

Step 1 - Nvidia Drivers

First and foremost, make sure you have updated Nvidia PhysX drivers like other users have suggested.

You can find them on the links below:

Step 2 - Executable

After installing the drivers, go to the link below and download the file contained within, named bcr.exe, same as the game's executable.

Afterwards, all you need to do is:

On your Steam library, right click the game's name and hover over "Manage", then click on "View Installation Folder";
Drag the file you downloaded onto the game's folder;
Accept to replace it

Afterwards, you should be able to play the game without any issues.

I've had this game forever, but it refused to run on my newer laptop that I bought two years ago. I tried this fix recently and it worked! Unfortunately, the game crashed in the underground caves in the first stage :(

You fixed this game for me. Figured I'd wasted half of my purchase. The other half was Bionic Commando '09 (which had no problems loading up, oddly enough).
For Rearmed, I had tried various legacy PhysX drivers & system software, compatibility modes, and anything else I could think of to find the right digital concoction to make this stew boil. Supplying the shortcut that corrects the default from Steam is what finished putting this puzzle together for me.

Now I just need to fix a frame jitter and some screen tearing, but the game is playable. Thank you a million times over. I originally played through this gem on the PS3. Time to relive a reborn classic. And that SCORE!!
