How to Downgrade and Bring Back the Removed Weapons

How to revert Deadfall Adventures' final patch that removed a bunch of weapons and made other questionable changes to the campaign for unknown reasons.

Step 0: Skipping The Line

If you want to skip the below steps, I've zipped up all of the downgraded files and uploaded them to MEGA. Just copy all of the extracted files to your game's installation folder.
See Step 4 if you can't figure out how to reach that location.

Also, before someone screams that this is piracy, these files have Steam DRM. They will not work unless you own the game on Steam and have it installed.

Step 1: DepotDownloader

Download the latest version of the DepotDownloader zip from here:
https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader/releases

Extract the zip to a new folder somewhere.

Step 2: CMD

Open CMD in this new folder location.
You can easily do this by clicking the address bar at the top of your file explorer while viewing the folder. Type "cmd" into this address bar and then press Enter.

Step 3: Downgrade Command

Take the below command, replace the "xyz" spots after username and password with your actual info. Keep them in quotations, however. It's perfectly safe, feel free to search about DepotDownloader if you don't trust it.

dotnet DepotDownloader.dll -app 231330 -depot 231331 -manifest 129173386926892438 -username "xyz" -password "xyz"

Put the finished command into CMD, press Enter, and it'll begin to download.

Step 4: Finished Download

Once it's done downloading, look in the folder where you put all of the DepotDownloader files.

There's now a new folder, "129173386926892438". Inside this is another folder, "207108". Open it. This is the entire game but with the second to last patch!

Copy all of this folder's contents to wherever you have Deadfall Adventures installed. You can easily get there by right-clicking the game in your Steam library, then go to Manage > Browse Local Files.

Make sure to replace everything it asks you to overwrite!

Step 5: The End

That's it, you're done!

You'll know you've properly downgraded your game if you start the first level and after shooting the first group of enemies you'll need to blow up a statue that's in the way. The final patch removed this, I don't know why. There's various things throughout the campaign that were changed like this. You may also notice that the first group of enemies are now using Thompsons instead of Suomis, and your Webley has a different reload animation.

Enjoy being able to use all the weapons the developers removed from the campaign for unexplained reasons!

no mate they dont
they share one thing
taking many games, and putting them into one pack and one installer
this is a new trend you will start seeing
nancy drew is doing it soon
myst did it and its coming out with myst DE with all titles even the old games
so the IP's of this game and a few others like it, were going to put them in an adventure set
revamped, remastered but not remade.
like mass effect DE halo infinte DE ed. etc
see what I mean now?

not the company or the devs
the way of selling or..renting games again
just wait until its full stream no install

i think they were going to redo it and add this as dlc
then went poof

this is a new norm and its terrible
forcing all games to be installed, to play just one

also some dlc wasnt compatible with win 10, and was bugging the game out
hence removal.
but thats when the devs just went poof
and no clue now

that blow up statue, used to crash the game, some time ago btw

Great instructions, thank you! Rolled back to patch 1 version and didn't look back. Devs still out an explanation to the community why they removed so much content from the original game and then abandoned it while promising yet another big update. Shame.
